Ok, I unrooted my x10a back to rogers R1FA014. I open SEUS and select update. The proper files download and begin to install. When the install bar is finished, it says update failed and leaves me with a snazzy yellow question mark upon booting. Does anybody know why it is not updating properly or how i can fix it?
Help is much appreciated, thanks.
Edit: also when i go to settings to check for software update, it says it is at the latest software, when it clearly is not.
Rogers isn't a big fan of ota updates me friend.
oh, well still i get the yellow question mark when doing the SEUS update.

Just try the whole unrooting process again. Are you x10a or x10i? Also, try PC Companion rather than SEUS. I've had issues with PC Comp, but found SEUS okay. It may be the other way round for you.
I have an x10a, and i've tried updating multiple times, but i'll try it again with PC Companion, never know, I'll let you guys know.
Tried updating through PC companion and SEUS again, many times, and nothing worked. Even had to reinstall the unroot package numerous times before the yellow exclamation mark went away.
if your trying to update to 026 for x10a, do debrand method with pc companion. blob files for 026 x10a generic are on debrand site. replace those two files right before pc comp finishes downloading. if u need help pm me

I'm not going to 26, I want current rogers official update which is 20.
Many months ago I updated my Rogers X10a to a X10i firmware. Later, thanks to a method and tools posted by Gorokhan (sp) I was able to switch to the Japanese Docomo X10a.
Now I would like to rebrand my phone to the current Rogers X10a firmware. I have tried many methods for about a week now. I've used the different flash tools from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740240 as well as various firmwares posted in these forums.
So far I've managed to:
Revert to a generic X10i
Brick my phone 4 times
Debrick my phone as many times (thanks devs, love your tools )
Never ever been able to switch back to any X10a firmware
I've also tried SEUS, PC Suite, etc... to no avail.
I know some people on Rogers have done this successfully in the past but with various methods that don't necessarily work anymore. Can someone please explain what method, with which files, currently works to rebrand from an X10i firmware back to a genuine X10a Rogers?
Thanks

Should have the flash tool for 1.6 included.
Flash it then upgrade with SEUS or PC to R2BA020 (latest Rogers FW)
Thank you. I I will try this tonight when I get home.
Well, it did the job for me
If you don't run in java problems with the flasher.
DevID problems, damaged USB or whatever you should be fine
It worked!!
For the first time in my life I was pretty happy to see that ugly Rogers logo show its face Naw, to be honest, they've been pretty good to me, I have no complaints.
Thanks for the help tuxStyle
Do you mind me asking why you wanted to go back to Rogers?
The phone needs warranty repair. I had to buy a new phone in the meantime :/
I have the same situation but I don't know how to use the flash tool, can you give me a brief tutorial? thanks
Where is the flash tool
Is the flash tool included with the file? I couldn't find it in the .zip file. can someone upload it for me please?

I believe I just hit the "DevID" wall. Anyway to "overcome" this?
Thanks.
I ran into the same problem. Trick is, when you find the device id in the registry, if it doesn't work, keep hitting F3 until you find another one. I think it creates a dev ID for every USB port on the computer you have ever plugged the computer into. So either try different IDs or try plugging your phone into another USB port.
Rebranding Xperia X10 to Rogers firmware to get update
Follow this link for a brief tutorial on rebranding and then updating to 2.1. The post is just a collective of bits of information found in various posts here in XDA.

(RESOLVED)hey guys, i've been looking everywhere for about 3 days now and really don't know how to resolve my phone's problem. I bought the rogers e10a version of the x10 mini and really wanted to update my phone to the latest 2.1 version. As most of us know, you have to debrand your phone first as SEUS as well as sony companion will tell you that 1.6 is the lastest version. Anyways i ended up using the "build.prop.claro" file from skzBR from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820009&page=4) while debranding and re-used SEUS to upgrade the phone to 2.1. Now when i used this build, i got the a claro logo when i booted up the phone and i didn't ike that, so i though i could just change the the build.prop in 2.1 to the other "build.prop.vivo"... well when i did that i felt really stupid after since i then remembered it was made for the 1.6 os. So now my phone is messed up! all i get is the Sony Ericsson start screen looping over and over again.
The phone does go into recovery mode, but does not have root permission through ADB so i can't push the old build.prop.claro file back into the phones system folder.. The SEUS and pc companion programs do not work to restore the phone and give me tell me my phone has no new software to update with. Even when i try pressing the repair option through pc companion get that same message. I've tried numerous flashtools with different rom with .sin files and have has zero success. So i'm wondering if i do have a chance at this if someone has the .sin files from both rom descirbe in the link and i try reflashnig it with the latest flashtool or if omnius is my only choice here.. any help really appreciated guys.
Thanks.
shouldve bought an evo

not helpful, but thx.
Have u tried this:
Code:

RE: have you tried this
yes i have, the flashtool establishes a connection with the phone when i put it in recovery mode. When it says its flashing my phone, all ,sin files or a 2.1 generic rom seam to flash fine and whn done, it tells me " finished, now reboot phone", the phone is still stuck and looping. So i don't know if its because i'm not flashing the .sin files of the build.prop.vivo rom which i can't seam to find anywhere or what....
Hi, im a bit busy today. So just give you a link that you can try http://www.xperiax10.net/2010/04/14/debrand-your-xperia-x10-tutorial/
Hope it will help you.
i fixed it
I flashed the phone with 1.6 e10i firmware and the java flashtool and it worked. I then changed the build.prop file to a e10a file and reflashed. SEUS was able to reflasht the phone's firmware to 1.6 e10a and all is good now... thanks guys!
Hi,
I flashed my phone from a Rogers X10a running 1.6 to nordic when 2.1 came out to get the update earlier. Now that the dual-touch update has come out I`ve found that I can`t update the software from my handset or my pc and am wondering if I can revert to x10a. A lot of the links people have shared in regards to this problem are outdated so it`s not really clear what can be done.
Whenever I try updating through my phone I get a message saying: ``New software available. Not enough memory, restart your phone before downloading.`` No matter how many times I restart i still get this message. Any ideas would be much appreciated
Thanks,

thanks for the quick reply
Unfortunately whenever I try to use the repair feature of SEUS or PC companion, it tells me that my phone doesnt have any software available and aborts the repair process. Is there a way i can flash to the latest rogers firmware?
Surprisingly, Rogers has the latest firmware:
2.1.1.A.0.6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960598
Use the graphical flash tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Hi
I just tried to update the firmware on a friends X10 Mini Pro, but something weird is happening to the screen.
Its a ordinary X10 Mini Pro with 1.6 software on the TDC network in Denmark. I downloaded PC Companion from the SE website. Connected the phone using USB and followed the guide. Everything succeeded according to the updater.
When I pulled the USB and booted the phone again the SE logo was displayed as it should. After waiting about a minute the phone loaded android, but the screen looked like a digital snow storm - see the attached picture.
Everything still works, but it is nearly impossible to see whats going on in the phone. When I restart the phone the SE logo still looks perfect, so I guessing the screen connector cable is fine and it is a software problem.
I tried installing the software again, but the same thing happens.
Do you guys have a suggestion on how to fix the problem?
Happend to me long time ago reflash

Delete the downloaded firmware from SEUS or Companion, if you poke around with explorer you'll find them, they will be about 120mb in size. Its probably a corrupt flash file so it should redownload when you try again.
I've had a corrupt flash file before, it appeared to install but ended up being a cross between new and old. Sometimes if your broadband connection glitches it can corrupt, only if its a couple of bytes.

Hi, I've got the same problem. I've tried repairing and reinstalling the update, reinstalling both the SEUS and the Companion and deleting their remaining Program Files folders (or is the update file hidden anywhere else?), still the same result. Any ideas please?

Hi,
Download flash tool and firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455. Flash it by following the steps given. It gives you the unrooted, unchanged version of SE ROM.
Goodluck. Post if you have any trouble.
There is nothing to fear!!! Its really very very hard to brick your phone
If you want warranty, then follow the steps given here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17671699.
