KF4 is after KE7 as in K is 2011 E is a month 7 is build
No change logs published by Samsung .
and how do i know what is the language of the ROM?
By reading the instructions on the first page of that link .
CSC is the consumer software customisation and is specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding and also APN settings for data connection, MMS etc for your service provider.

Region codes.
This helps me a lot.
I ran a google search but i didn't find which is better and what is the diffrent
ZS = Hong Kong
XW = ?
There is something i would prefer?
Can I install any ROM i want? if i have XW version this is possible to install ZS?
You can install any ROM's any time over any ROM. ZS is dedicated for Hong Kong, ZN is China, why should you install them if you are not located in those countries? XW is open region I guess, it's mainly for Europe and some other Asian countries like India and else.

If you install a 2.3.4 ROM then you will definitely have 2.3.4.
Regards.
After i flashed the ROM, can I just install CSC with odin?
And if i will flash another kernel CSC will be removed right?
Kernel doesn't have anything to do with CSC. I don't the first part of your query though.
1. When flashing while i'm in install mode i always get an error:
cannot access system/csc/dbt/system
this is normal?
2. I have Frankenstein XXKG6 it seen to be great but there is an RTL fix to this build?
if not what is the recommended firmware that support RTL?
Hi All,
My firmware version for the S2 is
PDA: I9100XWKF3
Phone: I9100XXK27
CSC: I9100XEUKD1
Can anyone please tell me if this is the latest firmware?
Any help is appreciated.
K A PATEL
thanks for the link in the first reply! been looking for it a while
Hello
In South Africa we are up to 2.3.4 as being our latest firmware update available via Kies. In the official roms I see other countries go up to 2.3.6.
Now from what I have seen I am going to go and assume that the different regions differences are for optimal workings for the modem, gps information, CSC and the like.
The firmware I am currently using was taken from the post by Infratech
PDA:XWKI4
PHONE: XXKI1
Date: 14/09/2011
Android 2.3.4
OJC (XFA, XFC, XFE, XFM, XFV) (South Africa) *I am using XFM
Now how do I tell what firmware that doesnt match say phone and/or PDA would work best, I've seen mention of "choosing the closest number" but thats vague to me. I would prefer my phone to be using firmware of a place that actually gets regular updates but not at the expense of phone performance/compatability.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Please note I'm not asking for blind "use this" answers but trying to actually get an understanding so that I know how it works.
The only way you can tell is by using or having recommends from other local users for the modem/baseband .
CSC is country specific but is only a list of local network settings and they can be entered manually .
Thats it Kernels are interchangeable as is firmware .
Only check is that a firmware supports the language you require .
If you want only official updates via Kies then you stick with Kies and flash no other firmware .
Samsung release firmware its sent to the network /phone providers they decide if and when or not to update .
Generally the stock European firmware is more than likely to be available for later versions .
Flash say UK stock firmware 2.3.6 with a change of modem if you find one better in SA and likewise a change of CSC to your country .

This fake and its not working
whats up fellas, i'm looking for a samsung rom best for uk three network, been using cm9 and akop roms but sick of niggling problems i encounter on different roms.
any suggestings would be greatly appreciated
cheers
Check Fus indicates that the following is officially available for download:
Product Code: GT-I9100LKAH3G
Latest firmware: I9100XWLP7/I9100H3GLP3/I9100NELP3/I9100XWLP7
Modified: 09/04/2012 12:24:47
Filename: GT-I9100_H3G_1_20120409122429_umwyjp47d4.zip.enc2
You can use Check Fus (link above) or you could go to Intratech's thread to find the latest ICS without the Three "bulk".
BTW below is the latest Official build, located at the bottom of the 3rd post in intratech's thread:
XWLPF
Firmware info
PDA:XWLPF
PHONE: XXLPX
Date: 18/05/2012
Android 4.0.3
(another quick edit) If you are in fact asking for a "best" ROM suggestion, please don't because the thread will get closed. Just a friendly word of advice.

Are you after a general stock ROM, or one that was made specifically for 3?
Also, Rizur your signature animation is amazing.
Hi,
I'm new to android, and for the past few days I've been reading a lot form this forum to get some idea.
I've noticed that there are many different firmware versions (almost as if each country & each custom ROM has a different one), e.g. my phone is XXBLH1, my country's (Israel) standard ROM is JKBLH3, and there are many more such as XXBLG8, XXBLFB etc.
As far as i understood there should be no problem flashing a different one for my phone when changing ROMs. But still what are the differences between them, why are there do many? Is there any restrictions on which are compatible to change mine, for example, JKBLH3 is ok but XXBLFB is not? If so, is there a way to know this from the version code itself, meaning everything starts with 'J' is not for you?
Thanks in advance for your replies,
Dan

that's a very good question, I never understood that either, I think those letters differ from country and from modem version in the specific country.
Also I don't think that is a problem to flash other official ROMS, because I have a S3 that was with branded firmware from the operator and I flashed it with official international unbranded firmware for my phone model (GT-I9300) and it works pretty nice
Also another question I will be capable to receive updates from samsung with my official ROM right? thanks
These codes are used to differentiate between different regions.. All the firmwares are almost the same except small region specific customizations.. Some apps would work for some regions some might not..Also there are some region specific customizations such as language..
You can install any firmware made for international galaxy S3 without any major problems..

Hi!
As what i know, there are a lot of firmwares out there because they differ in their unit. Let'e take for example, a korean S3, they cannot take in an I9300 firmware because of the regional basis and their "specifications"..
Also, firmwares differ also in ways such as updates.. let's say firmware X was released last June but it lags so bad.. so sammy release firmware Y.. something like that
I hope this could help you.. this is the simplest explanation my brain could process
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
just to add, firmware variants may also be due to the legal implication of particular countrries and/or regions as we saw several small updates rolled out a few months ago due to the "search for all" function in which Samsung and Apple had conflict in within the courts...however, such updates were not applied to the NZ firmware as far as I am aware...also...since OP is from Israel, there are also variations in the keyboard that are available...examples such as chinese input method differs between Taiwan firmwares and China firmwares eventhough both countries speak chinese lol...
Hi guys,
I know this is probably one of the 'already answered' questions, but I don't know what to look for to find the answer as well.
For the Galaxy S3 there are many builds of the Firmware for different countries, so much I understand.
When the Premium Feature pack was rolled out I decided to flash the UK XXELLA version. Since then several other builds of 4.1.2 emerged for different countries.
So my question is, am I on the 'newest' version, when I just stick to my XXELLA or should I rather go for XXEMB2 for example? Is there any thread that simply points to the best stock firmware to currently flash?
Thanks for your help!

different countries, different firmware codes, you can find the most current firmware with highest changelist in the General section's thread that lists all firmwares.
