Hi people
I have a question
I am using rooted x10 on 2.1 and I have some things that I have downloaded and that I am using without any problems.
Can I post those apps here on this page? I do not know if this is legal
Also, how can I make photos of the apps and things that I use to post it and show it to the people. I know that there is an app for that but I dont know the name.
Thanks a lot to all.

Hi, I new to the android platform, but I am a longtime xda user. But I did spend most of my time at ppcgeeks. I'm coming from the pro2 and the titan before that, and both were on winmo.
So here is what I am looking for, I want a spb backup type of app to save all my programs, user info and the like. I would also like a gprofile type of app also. I'm kind of nervous about rooting until I can backup the things I have downloaded and the username/passwords I have saved.
I have searched through the market and google for both of these and couldn't find anything on either of these. I have found everything else I needed, it is just these two that I can't find. Maybe I was searching for the wrong terms or something, so any help would be appreciated.
One last thing, does anybody have any recommendations for websites that stream tv that work with our phones. I can't get atdhe or Justin.tv either one to work. And of course my Hava product doesn't have a working android app. Being the avid college football fan that I am, I need to find a good solution for this too.
Thanks for any and all help
Brandon.
Titanium backup will save your apps and app data system settings Bluetooth and wifi conections and stuff but you need to be rooted to use it.
Sms backup an a restore will back up and restore your text and you don't need root access.
Google backs up you r system setting s and wallpaper if you allow it. It will also redownload you r apps but not the data you had with them.
This all gets restored when you sign in your google account.

Thanks man for the answer. I was beginning to think no one had any answers to help me with.
I got this phone yesterday. I don't understand a few things and also want to do a few things.. so I have some questions.
1. How do I change the theme from the default?
2. What is 'root'? Or rooting, I don't understand what that does or is.
3. How do I remove the bloat that's pre-installed i.e Peggle, Gold Rush, etc.
4. How do I change from the 4 corner set-up to some of the others I've seen on here.
A link to somewhere that could tell me basic stuff like this would be cool. Thanks in advance.
Hey.
To change the look and feel of your phone use adw or launcher pro.
Root is a feature which gives us more controll over our phones.
I'll post links when I am at college for you

Hi,
1. as mentioned by Aussie, you can download and use different launchers. examples are adw and launcherpro. more can be found in the market.
2 and 3. rooting is gaining full access and control to your fone. only when you have rooted your fone can you remove the bloats.
4. like number 1, just use a different launcher.
browse around the site. all of your questions have already been answered. some even have step by step instructions.
Hi guys,
new to xdadevelopers. So I'm a noob. That means, I did use the search engine and read through various threads, but couldn't find an answer to my question:
What exactly IS signing and resigning .apk or .zip? What does it do in depth? What is it good for and how can I manually do it?
I'm trying to change the icon for an app, and starting from that, I got into all the theming stuff. And everywhere I read about signing or resigning my changed files, accompanied by a link to some auto-signing programm and a hint "click that and it'll do the rest."
Im just not that kinda guy. I want to know whats giving me trouble and how the smart programms solve them.
What do all these signing tools do, and how could I possibly do that on my own?
Can nobody explain that to me? Did I ask the question in the wrong subforum or something?
Seriously?
Cool forum, fast help!
I'm no dev, but there are a few apps on the market that'll sign/resign an app.

i think [read think] lol... that it's basically like stamping it official, and that is how your BL will verify it as a rom... just my thinking.
Hello,
I have this Samsung Galaxy S2 GT - I9100, which I originally rooted when it had Gingerbread 2.3.4, then using Mobile Odin I flashed it ICS 4.0.3, XXPLQ. Everything went smooth. Until a few hours later when a few apps started disappearing. 12 total. I tried restoring them with titanium backup (from a backup I had done before flashing ICS) but it won't let me do it. I can't reinstall the apps from Google Play either.
Any ideas on what should I do?
Please explain with as much detail as possible. I'm still new to the flashing roms world
Thanks,

hi and welcome to the forum.
to improve the chance of getting good answers, you should change the thread title to something like "disappearing apps after ics update" or something similar. just stating the device's name is redundant, as you are in a section of the forum, which deals exclusively with that model.
also, questions go in the q&a section, but don't worry, i reported it to be moved.
also, you should post, what specific apps you are talking about and of what kind they are, are they free or paid, are they generally available on the play store for your country? have you checked the play store from a pc to look for those apps? ...and so on. being really specific makes it way easier to help.
Hello, you are correct, i'm sorry for the title and lack of more info. I can't edit the thread title so, if you or any other moderator can do so, feel free to do it.
About my problem, I could not give more details because there was no much relevant info to give. There were 12 apps total that suddenly disappeared after flashing. Among those were:
2 games from Game Insight (Airport City and My Country)
Mobile Odin
Akdiko Reader
Mantano Free Reader
Complete Edition UEFA.com
Amazon.com Android App
Virtual City playground
Angry Birds Space Premium
and a couple more I can't recall
I didn't see anything in common among those apps, except the error was that it couldn't install on usb storage or sd card.
An hour ago, a friend of mine pointed out to me that I had a problem that I should look for the sd fix, and directed me to download CF Root 5.4 (I used CF Root 5.3 to root the phone after flashing the firmware).
Apparently there is a bug with 5.3 that caused this on some games and apps (no idea why). So, I flashed the new kernel root and all is well, I was able to restore the apps and data with Titanium.
I guess this same bug caused these apps to "vanish" in the first place.
Thanks for trying to help and sorry I failed stating my problem better. I hope now that I explained my issue and solution helps others.
If a any mod read this, please change the thread title accordingly.
Best regards,
formatting your phone is the best idea

Hi guys!
*I am going to be creating an android app soon, and want to know some things.
(Not a game)
1. What apps do you feel Google Play is lacking?
2. What apps do you find helpful?
3. Is there an app you want to see made?
4. How much would you be willing to pay for one?
5. Any ideas of suggestions you would like to make!
*All feedback is appreciated, however small
PS: Not sure if I have posted this in the wrong place... if I have I would be grateful if you would move it - thanks

I dont understand fully what you mean... but from what I can gather, that would be impossible due to privacy rights etc, and the details would reside with your network provider
