i recently upgrade to the 2.1 global firmware, and whenever i charge my phone itll stop charging at 97% and itll start draining, i looked on the "About Phone" in the settings and it says "Not Charging" is anyone else having this issue??
Mine gets to 100% but it's normal for it to discharge when it reaches a certain level. It did it in 1.6 too.
Yeah it did happen on 1.6 too. Just unplug the cable and wait for a moment and plug again. It should continue the charging process.

Ok soo it seems normal for everybody, what if I choose to leave it overnight, will the charging process start again?
It will start to discharge if I'm not wrong.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
ok soo i noticed that it starts to discharge after it shows "Full" i just wish it would recharge after it reaches certain percentage, i dont wanna wake up in the morning and find out its at 90% instead of 100%
Yep it happened at 1.6 as well...
I find it starts re-charging at 90-91% then goes up to 100% then discharges.
Helps the life of the battery.

flash into xrecovery and wipe battery stats!
Also, calibrate your battery. Fully charge, remove battery, reinstall battery, fully charge again. Repeat 2-3 times until says 100%.
Stock charges to around 88%.

My battery is also causing trouble
I put the phone in charger is loading the phone up to 88 then stops
And when I take out and put in the charger my phone charges up to 100
While the charger still connected is again removed the battery to 88
I have to use the directory that you brought?
Sorry for my english lol
Yeah calibrating your battery almost always will help. Check the market if you haven't yet. There are a couple Apps that will help do it.

Ok thnx
dont use your phone while in charge and then see the status of ur battery.. if u use ur phone while charging, it never charges up fully..
Pls hit a thanks if u r satisfied
I experience this when I leave my X10 charging all night long (turned on). It seems it charges up to 100% and then keeps draining it, despite the connected charger. Have you ever tried offline charging?
I want to charge it when it is turned off. But I do not know if he filled it to the end. Because I do not know what percentage has
That there is no sign of a fully charged battery
I have ATT Atrix 2.3.4 with Bootloader Unlocked bought in End of March 2011.
After 2.3.4 update I had Battery Stats jumping issue and applied jug6ernaut Fix.
After that everything was normal until yesterday.
When plugged in for Charge overnight, my Atrix wont exceed charging beyond 70%.
Is it so early a battery would loose its power within just 9 months?
Also When i run Battery Calibration app, it shows 70% with Voltage as 4115mV, which shows the battery is providing good voltage.
Is there any Fix for this or any thing I can try to get it to 100% without buying a new one?
Thanks
Let the battery drain itself and charge it in offline mode. It will be %100 again.
May I know what do you mean by Offline Mode?
Is it Charging without powering Atrix ON...
yup - dont log into the phone and just let her charge while asleep.
In development and general forums there are some ways of fixing it, the easier is to discharge your phone to zero percent, put it on charger, without the battery, wait it to see that isnt with battery, put the battery in, and let it charge, i did that, its not a 100% sure it will work, but is something you can try if nothing else solves the problem

I tried the last method.. put on charger without battery and then put my battery and left for charge for full night and its back to 100% and now its back to 100%..
Thanks everyone for your updates to solve my issue..
Has anyone run across this? Lately when using Battery Calibration app, as soon as I unplug from charger I drop from 100 to 96...( happens frequently now) is this just a sign my battery is getting weak?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Nope - that's actually the correct behavior for a well-calibrated and healthy battery. When you charge your phone disconnects the current when the battery is full, and for the next half hour or so it reads 100% but the battery is slowly discharging. This protocol preserves battery longevity. After a while it will top the battery off again. Long story short, 96% charge shortly after unplugging is perfectly normal.

thats funny, my device stays at 100 percent after I unplug it from the charger, then discharges normally. It never drops to 96%, sounds more like a kernel issue to me.

When still running Froyo my Fascinate always displayed 96%-100% upon disconnection after full charge, even if left overnight. After update to GB, the longer it remains on charger after reaching 100%, the lower it drops after disconnecting. Sometimes it's dropped from 100% to 76% as soon as charger is unplugged, if left on charger for too long.
I was informed on another forum that there's trouble with the trickle charge function on GB and it's likely not to be corrected.
Just thought I'd pass that on, for what it's worth.
the battery does that on purpose so it doesn't overcharge and decrease battery life.
in other news, google android people have said more than once that battery calibration does nothing, wiping battery stats will not help anything at all.

I normally Charge it while Battery Calibration is running, then when it hits 100%, I power off the phone and let it finish charging with the power off then onces its "Truly" fully charged I turn the phone back on get into Battery Calibration then press the calibrate button
What's the general consensus on this i.e. Google engineer basically debunking the necessity or benefits of calibrating one's battery?
http://tweakmydevice.com/2012/01/no-need-to-calibrate-android-battery/
Ever since around the time i downloaded a battery indictor to show the %age in the notifications, i have been having some odd experiences.
It says its 100% charged all the time but it runs down to 1% within and hour and stays on 1% for a few hours.
But a few days ago, things got worse, now it doesnt ever charge, i plug it in and it says discharging. I left it charging overnight but it never charged. I have to plug it in and out a couple of times before it actually charges. And im pretty sure the battery doesnt last as long anymore.
Anyone else have this problem? I deleted the app already, put device on and off, unrooted, problem still there
is this a faulty battery?
go on pc companion and repair the phone. If this still happens then send it sony most likely a hardware fault
Did you try resetting the battery by switching off the phone holding the volume up button for 5 secs ?? Its as same as pulling out your battery.
Good afternoon!
This happened to my sxs during the first charge, when it charged up to 53%, no matter how long I left it on the charger. This was fixed with a simple phone restart, and never happened again since then...
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
Yeah tried that and I think it fixed it but I still can't get it to charge, just found out that once it reaches 100%, it discharges but doesn't stop discharging at 95% but instead doesn't charge until flat
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
The best option is to send the phone back to Sony
There are always be bad phones like 1 of the 10000. Maybe this time it hit you..
I will try to explain my problem clearly and in a concise manner.
My battery started giving problem since a few days back. That time I had ICS in my phone.
My phone having enough battery gets shutdown in the middle of nowhere.
If i turn it on,it shows battery to be 0 or 1%.Then i used to set it on charging, and it used to work normally and battery starts getting charged from 1%.
On the other hand,if instead of turning up the phone and charging again, when i used to plug the charger in without turning on phone, my phone shows the correct battery percentage. And it starts charging normally.
To summarise-
My phone having enough battery gets shutdown in the middle of nowhere. If my phone gets off on 70% automatically, and if i plug the charger keeping the mobile off,it starts charging from 70%.But if I turn on the mobile and plug the charger,it starts charging from 0%
So this thing worked for a few days. After that my phone started turning off quite frequently. And I had to plug the charger everytime it turns off so as to turn it on again.
A couple of days back,I flashed cyanogenmod JB and siyah kernel.Since then it has been worse.
Now phone doesnt even last a minute even after full charging. It just shuts down as soon as I turn it on.I tried clearing battery stats.
I am unable to use my phone, its next to a dead phone. Please help !
What should I do to save my phone?
maybe its time to replace battery...

Are you sure battery needs to be replaced?
One more thing, after flashing JB, the battery percentage doesnt fluctuate as before.
It gets off at say 70%, and then it doesnt matter if i charge it keeping phone on or off,the charging starts at 70%.
Its just that the phone gets off for no reason as soon as it is turned on.
There is an app on market called My Battery Status, you can check your battery health with it.
