x10 and X10i - Difference? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I always wondered if the X10 and X10i are the same or different? e.g. I need this information for the unlocking.
I researched and it said the difference is that x10i is Euro firmwire.

Is it the same? I read that no results.

Looking to trade my X10a for an X10i

Hi,
I have a black X10a in perfect condition, which I bought with Rogers, in Canada. I am now living in the US, and to my dismay, I've found that T-Mobile's 3G network is only functional with the X10i.
If you're with AT&T and find yourself in the inverse situation with your X10i, please let me know, and perhaps we can make a mutually-beneficial trade.
Thanx,
- B
You can simply flash X10i baseband and it should work

I don't think flashing will work. T-Mobile uses different frequencies

He has an x10a though, hence the problem...
Flashing different baseband will NOT work as the hardware is different..
Why not? Isn't baseband changing 3G/WCDMA frequencies?
Hey, if your offer still stands, I have an x10i with At&t. Let me know.

it would only change the theoretical possible basebands for your device... The radio built into your phone would still be different.

unlocking Xperia X10 from AT&T network

Hi,
I have bought SE Xperia X10 here in US with AT&T. I am trying to unlock the same from the network provider. Could someone help me in getting the code.
Thanks,
Krishna
U can also use www.fastgsm.com which gives unlock codes which i have done for phones. At least look at the site. I think its $20. Look for JUST unlocking, not the whole package for debranding too cuz thats more.

I only find a $49.99 option, can you link the $20 one?
I cannot see the $19.99 option either on FASTGSM. I also want my AT&T X10a. So far, mobilecanada has been unable to do it. It seems that the most popular methods on this forum are with "Lancez" or FASTGSM. Anyone people recently have success with either one??
Thanks
Sorry about that. It must of went up in price. My great appologies to get ur hopes up. Its $50. If i find another source cheaper, i will post it here

unfair

I remember before gb came out all those videos showed x10a models, and now x10a users are the last ones to get it, im very impatient after reading how good gb seems to be on x10
Then why wait? All the tools you need are right here in this forum. You can always change to x10a once it's available.

Just follow this, it's only beneficial as the custom ROM is better than the official anyways and you don't have to wait.

But i was told that its not a good idea to change from x10a to x10i with my carrier, someting about not having the same bands i think, that would make my phone unuseable with any of the 4 carriers here

[Q] Can I change my phone's frequency?

Hello all,
I have an x10i which runs on frequencies 900/1700/2100
Am I able to change the frequency to that of an x10a, being 800/850/1900/2100?
My x10i is running unrooted gingerbreaqd.
Yes, I realise that any change would require a rooted phone first and foremost.
Thanks in advance to any helpers!
no because thats hardware related.it is the chip set given to the x10

x10i and x10a runs on different freq. x10i is for rest of the world except USA. x10a is for USA only.

Sim unlock code

Greetings!
I'm new here and it's very good to see the work in here
I have a problem. I bought my X10 mini pro u20i from amazon two months ago unlocked. And I tried to put the miniCM7pro 2.3.7 ROM from paul-xxx,, but as soon I enter the pin from my sim, it asked another code to unlock the sim. I skipped, and the radio from the phone never worked. I turn on the phone many times and it was the same always.
Can someone help me? I restore the default rom from SE and worked normal..
