[Q] Market problem - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried searching for an answer but couldn't find anything.
When i go to the downloads section in my market only apps i have recently downloaded or paid for appear. Not all the apps i have on my phone.
I recently softbricked my phone going from bionix 4.2 with the ul kernel to bionix v5 beta. I was also one of the unlucky few who had my internal sd wiped when i flashed 4.2 with the UL Kernel. I odined back to JFD and then flashed Bionix 5. I logged in to my google account before and opened the market before i restored any apps from titanium backup. I have tried clearing the cache from the market, tried clearing all data and cache from phone through clockwork, and tried flashing back to 4.2 stock kernel.
It doesnt even recognize apps that came installed like gmail or maps or youtube. only apps i downloaded or have purchased. Does anyone know what could be wrong or what i could do to get the market to recognize my apps?

Downloads, by definition, only contains your downloaded apps. The pre-installed apps don't reside there, unless they've been updated....

Well yes I understand this, but every other rom I have used before the soft brick, would show all of the apps that I restored with titanium backup as downloaded in the market.

Deleting Server Side Market Data

To make a long story short, is there any way to clear server side market data? I was running a 2.1 ROM for a week or so and trimmed my apps down to where I want them. Then I decided I was going to try one of the recently updated Froyo ROMS and thus I repartitioned the SD card and did a complete wipe of data and dalvik cache. Then I flashed the Froyo ROM and it decided it needed to download and install the apps I had on the Froyo ROM I was running a couple weeks ago. I had put the phone in Airplane mode and adb installed TitaniumBackup and restored what apps I could from the backups I made on the 2.1 ROM. Wasn't at all surprised that some apps didn't install. However, when I turned off Airplane mode Market proceeded to attempt to download and install ALL the apps I had on Froyo before. Very annoying and got me to wondering if there was a way to delete server side market data.

[Q] Playstore problem with ICS + Phone ID ?

Hi there.
I just upgraded my SGSII with UHLPE firmware, since the device came with Gingerbread 2.3.6, and root it with CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-PROPER-v5.4-CWM5.
Everything went smoothly and the firmware was flashed without any problems, so do the rooting. After i restored my apps with Titanium Backup, i tried to install Apex launcher from Google Play Store, and there's where i found out that my Play store app doesn't recognize the ICS installed on my device.
I started to search for apps that only work on ICS, and no luck, although the original Web Page DOES tell me that my SGSII is compatible with the apps.
Titanium backup told me that the Phone ID had changed, after the apps backed up were restored, so i decided to restore the Phone ID, but no luck, Play store still doesn't show me the apps for ICS.
Does some one know what the heck happened here
How can i , in some way, tell the Play store app that what is running on my SGSII is ICS 4.0.3 ??

Have you already wiped cache partition and Dalvik cache in recovery?
If that does not help, try to clear app data via Settings > Applications > All > Play store > Clear data.
Good luck !
Still not working...
Hi there...
Just did what you mentioned before, but no luck.
Tried wiping dalvik and partition cache, also , deleting the data on the Play store app, i even uninstall the updates.
But still no luck, no tringle away, no apex launcher, nothing ICS related :crying:
Problem solved!
Just to let other people know what happend and how to solve this..
I figure out that what mess with my phone was, that when i run the "restore all my apps" from Titanium Backup, i didn't notice i also run the "system data" restore.
So what happend was, that my 4.0.3 on the inside had parts of 2.3.6, since i restored info from my Gingerbread backup.
That was the cause that Play store didn't recognize me as ICS.
So in the end, wha i did was:
1.- Reboot in recovery mode
2.- Factory reset
3.- Wipe cache partition
4.- Wipe Dalvik cache
5.- Wipe battery stats
With this, i rebooted my device and had my IceCreamSandwich back up, with all well, Play store now knows that what i'm running is 4.0.3, and all the benefits of that.
Finally i ran again the batch option of "Restore user apps + data" from Titanium Backup, WITHOUT the system data option.
Case closed hahahahaha!!!:good:

Force update of apps?

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S Duos (GT-S7562L). I've rooted it by installing clockwork mod and then root. I'm also using a combo of Ext2Int and Link2SD to get around issues with the limited 2gb internal memory.
I've been using this configuration for a while and have been through a few firmware updates where I simply had to reinstall cwm and root, reconfigured Ext2Int and Link2SD and was okay.
However I now ran into an issue where linked apps fail to run.
Titanium Backup wasn't backing up the linked portions of the apps, I think. So restoring them wouldn't be much help.
I tried removing links and running apps again but that fails. I tried uninstalling, downloading and linking an app and that worked.
I don't want to have to go through the rigmarole of doing that for all my apps, is there a way to mark all apps as requiring an update from the Google Play so I can use Google plays "update all" feature with Link2SD's built in "auto linking after updating a linked app" feature
Thanks.
Otherwise, maybe I'll just restore my backup and turn off firmware updates.

Okay, I tried doing restore from Titanium backup and that seemed to have done the trick. I guess it does backup across links...

[Q] All apps crash after installing rom update

Hey guys, I have the ViperX+ 2.0.1 rom, but my problem is not really about the rom itself.
A week ago the ota update got released, so I made a backup and installed t, but as I already expected it there was
the same problem I had before: After loading and adjusting all apps it loads my wallpaper, but after that all apps crash,
so I have to turn the phone off by pressing the power button. This is caused by the app LuckyPatcher. In LuckyPatcher
there's a feature which installs a modded playstore, when I installed it for the first time restarted the device but after booting
all apps kept crashing, so I had to restore a backup, then I changed the modded playstore version and it worked fine.
Now back to the ota update problem: I installed the original play store with luckypatcher and removed the app,
then I installed the update and all apps crashed again, so removing luckypatcher doesn't help anymore
(restored the data via backup again). Have you guys any idea how to fix this, cause my latest backup is a few months old..
Or should I just backup my data and do a full wipe? If yes what should I backup in TWRP (only data or boot too,
cause I don't know which of them contains the broken files), or use something like Titanium Backup. I don't mind if I have to set
all the options and tweaks manually again, I just want to keep my files (music, pics, apps, etc.),
so which way would you recommend me? Thanks in advance

You should wipe / factory reset before you install any ROM. These apps you're loading, how are you loading it ? Through backup or play store ? Is it system apps or downloaded apps ?

By loading apps I mean the usual process after booting the phone, it says ''Android wird aktualisiert'' (Android gets updated).
*edit: I guess fixing the problem would be much more complicated than performing a full wipe, so which way to backup my data (as written in the main post) would you recommend me?

Do a factory reset from TWRP. You will lose your text messages and apps ect. If you don't want to go through the process of re-downloading your apps, you can use titanium backup and backup apps but not app data (not recommended). Flashing roms without doing a wipe/factory reset = hot mess. Unless otherwise said no wipe needed.
Edit just keep check of the Rom discussion to see if anyone has the same problem. Try wiping then install 2.01 make a complete boot then install ota

[Q] Issues after installing the new Viper

I just installed Viper DNA v3 and I cannot get any apps to download. At first it worked, and let me re download all my apps that google had backed up, and then I used titanium to restore all the app data, but not the google play store does not work, and even manually getting an sdk and trying to install from that is just stuck on "Installing........"
I am not sure what I did wrong. I am almost certain I installed everything right.

Restore apps only never the app data.
Try a factory reset and reflash.
