All i can say is that windows7 isn't completely ported yet to hd2 (as far as i know).
Be aware that running win7 take a lot of resources too especially now when its not stable yet so playing games on it would be a pain i guess.
Im pretty up for games myself but i don't think i ever saw a single win7 game for hd2 in my search... and believe me i search a lot ;p

I search a lot too. I don't think I seen one single game on WP7 for HD2. All I see on HD2 is WP7 and give a brief tour, that all.

[GAME] Lego Memory game

Hi guys,
this is my first game for Windows Mobile 6.5 devices. It is a simple memory game where you need to find matching lego boys heads.
It works for both WVGA and VGA devices (not tested on other resolutions).
Hope you will enjoy it
I would have a go with this but I have had a natural hatred for memory games since I was young, Im terrible at them.
On the other hand, It is still AWESOME
There should be more LEGO Games

Hey, uh dude
It doesn't seem to be working, am I doing something wrong? Tapping on heads does nothing?
Running HTC Diamond...everything stock...
Same here, nothing happen. HTC Touch Elfin stock ROM.
HTC HD2.
Works awesome. It's bad enough trying to tell my 8 year old son not to touch my phone. He's going to love this. It'll be perfect for when we are in a restaurant waiting for the food.
Thanks
Its working on my Diamond ( Energry ROM WM6.5.3 )
NOTE : video will take you to viddler ( can not embedd videos here )
I do not work. starts, but does not respond to touch. What's wrong?
WM 6.1 and Omnia?
Yes, the game works only on Windows Mobile 6.5.
It uses the newest touch API that is not available on previous windows mobile version.
hi, I found out that can't be installed on SD card (also if setted to do that during installation).
eats 1 MB of internal storage., and can't find it in program folders.
can it be fixed?

Porting application from the iPhone to a Windows Mobile Device

Emmh don't tell me you've never thought about porting application from the iPhone to a Windows Mobile Device. Found out a program is being developed to do this:
here's the news:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee355030.aspx
Anyone think it is doable?
well thought someone might enjoy the 1/10000000 chance
Nice catch.....if I read well it is a case study on how it can be done.....since MS operating system is loosing quite some market share vs Android, iphone etc and WM7 is around the corner requiring all new software development....indeed this to happen for us WM6.1/6.5 is 1/100000000000
I can already picture myself playing Plants VS Zombies...
Ah ok......I am not a gamer.......
You could ofcourse buy an iPhone.......
Haha only ppl with patience can use an IPhone - tried the other day and got furious - hard to type and get turning the screeen hahaha

Games and availability

An internet site, which shall remain nameless, offers an amazing amount of cracked games for my HD2, for free. This is all good. But I love my phone, and I woulden't mind paying for some of them. To support the non-Iphone scene, if nothing else.
Why oh why, aren't these games and apps available on the marketplace?! I was really surprised to find that there are so many games out there. But that doesn't help, if people doesn't know where to get 'em.
Is there something wrong with my Marketplace app? I only have two games to choose from. Mahjong, and some brain game/app?
try switching to the US MArket, there are more than 2 games in there
Try www.freewarepocketpc.net, there are some good games there too. but there are many games over here too!!
Hi,
I try to search but I've found nothing interesting;
I would know what is the best 3d game for win mob 6.5 in your opinion?
I don't know anything about the HD2 game because i don't own one.
But just for sure that the site you mention really provide games. But I don't think there is any site like that. *~*
The window mobile has very few games, 3D games is even fewer. I am very sad about it... T_T
But the HD2 can run Android OS. I think that is also a solution for you.

What to expect?

Hi there
Im currently a windows 6.5.5 user on an HD2 with custom ROM.
However my upgrade is due in a few weeks and i have been eyeing up the Titan.
Im aware WP7 is a different OS to win mo 6.5.5 but how different? Ive played with Android and it just doesnt do what i want it to so felt the need to stick with the Windows OS.
does the app store for WP7 have enough in it to keep you amused or is it still a bit bare?

If you din't find satisfaction from Android Market, I highly doubt Windows Market is yet ready for you. The key features missing right now in my opinion are:
-system back up
-sms back up
-few major apps (I don't care about apps, I've got all that I need)
-customization (we will have unlock hopefully soon!)
Other than this, I think it looks much more professional that Android at most stages. Communication, social networking - is integrated like no other OS and it will only get better with 2 updates in 2012!
If you are someone who has patience for atleast next 6-8 months - Buy titan, you will love it!
If you are someone who has patience but has huge surge of apps daily and huge need to customize things - Get Android. By the time you finish your 2 year long contract, we will surely have Windows Phone 9 which I can bet will be the most amazing OS ever! (here is to wishful thinking!)
In a nutshell I can say, I've gone from WM6- WM6.5- WM6.5.5- Android2.2 -Android2.3- Android2.3.5- WP7.5 and I thought this was the most amazing thing I held in my hand since a long long time! - "It just works"
How you like Windows Phone 7 is really going to depend on how you currently use your Windows Mobile and/or Android phone.
Windows Mobile (and Android) let you go crazy with customization, mods, ROMs, etc. Windows Phone 7 is very locked down. Not a whole lot of customization. But because its so locked down, its incredibly stable (does not crash or slow down as often, if at all). The number one thing about Windows Phone 7 is that it just works. No tweaking, or hacking the registry, or installing modification on top of modification. You turn it on, 15 seconds later, it just works, flawlessly.
If you use Outlook and a USB cable to sync your information (contacts, email, etc.) to your phone, then you can't do that anymore. Windows Phone 7 only lets you sync media (pictures, music, videos) to your phone via the Zune software. Everything else is in the cloud and tied to your Windows Live account.
Windows Phone 7 offers unparalleled connectivity and integration with Microsoft services (Hotmail, Zune, Bing, Xbox Live, etc. etc.).
If you are living alright with the Marketplace currently on Windows Mobile, then the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace easily beats that one easily. Only difference is that without some kind of developer unlocking of your phone, you can load apps from your PC like you could with Windows Mobile.
Really you just have to try it before you really commit. Most people love it, fewer hate it. Coming from Windows Mobile, and depending on your current view of Windows Mobile, you may see it as a giant leap forward, or a big step backwards.
I came from Windows Mobile 6.5, and then Android, and now Windows Phone 7, and I just can't go back to anything else. My phone, just works, and its fast, and fluid, and beautiful, and its got the apps that I need, and the integration with Microsoft stuff that I use.

You can't load your contacts via USB cable as a USB device, but you surely can sync your Outlook contacts, emails, tasks, calender wirelessly flawlessly too!

As you've got a HD2 I'd recommend using Yuki's Win 7 ROM. I did and that convinced me to move onto the Titan (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250869).
As for the other comments on WP7, I agree WP7 is locked down however I'm quite happy with what's available on the Marketplace and I'm convinced that the experts at XDA will find ways of allowing us to mod as with WP 6.5.

Well WP7 is designed with a different mindset... Namely, that you get all your information as fast and efficiently as possible, and therefore you spend less time playing with the phone and OS itself, and more time using it (as a tool). For example, you wouldn't spend hours a day playing with your screwdriver =D.
When you adapt to this mindset, you'll find Android and especially iOS just cannot compare.
Of course the exception is WP7 has excellent media functions and games. The XNA developer tool allows for beautiful games to be created much easier for WP7, and as XNA is already used for Xbox arcade games, many of those Xbox titles can be and have already been ported to WP7.
Sent from my PI39100 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Cheers for the input
I'm looking forward to a new device!

is it possible to port these 2D pc games to android

I want to port "Desperados Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Robin Hood the Legend of Sherwood" (two of my all time fav pc games) to Android. I used to spend so much time playing these games when I was a lil kid. Amazing games. Dont understand why they havent yet been ported to Android. I reckon they would sell a few millions on the GPlay if the pricing was right. (Profit guaranteed) I would definitely buy them if they were available on the GPlay. Anyway since they are not and probably never will, I am trying to find out how to port these games to android. Since they both are 2D point and click games they would be perfect to play on the android platform and also much easier to port to android than 3D pc games.

If they are available on ps2 then you can download the roms of them (game .bin file) and run them in a PS2 emulator on android. Same with PSP games, there is PPSSPP!
You may find roms on coolrom.com!

I don't know about these games. But if they are DOS based games (like Dangerous Dave, Digger, Prince, Prince of Persia),
then you can use DOSBox to play the games.
More information is at DOSBox Play Store Page here.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fishstix.dosbox
Even if these games are not for DOS, you seem to be a person interested in old games (just like me). Then you can play those charming old games on DOSBox.
Press Thanks if helped.
Dangerous Dave
Dangerous Dave is already on Google Play, it's pretty good too.
