Hello,
I have recently upgraded to 2.1 and i was annoyed by the vibrant tactile feedback meanwhile using the dialer dial pad
in other words,
each time i press a number.. the phone vibrate *tiny*
Any idea how to suppress that feature?
P.S: i have already deactivated the sound/vibrant tactile for keypads, etc,, from system panel settings
If you've deactivated them then try google for other answers.
Maybe a reflash is due?

Don't think you can get rid of the haptic feedback on the stock dialer.

Any suggested custom dialer you tried out with satisfaction?
Thank you.

Hi, and first of all thank you xdadevelopers for your work! awesome I can have my xperia updated to 2.1 rooted here in Spain!
Now my question is if is possible to disable vibration on the dialpad, 'cause I can't find the option.
I know it's a little silly question but it's bothering me, thank you.
I think you can find the option in settings, sound and display?
but not sure.
thanks but there only can remove sound not vibration
when using the keyboard use the settings button looks like a repair tool there you can disable if is not there go to settings, check keyboard and uncheck it from the default keyboard option, same applies for android one

this works for the keyboard but no effect on dialpad, and when on dialpad settings buttons does nothing.
thank you anyway
Try going into settings "Sound and Display, and untick "Haptic Feedback". It says that it "vibrates when pressing soft keys and on certain UI interactions". Maybe that's the one you're looking for.
i have the same question, i can't remove the vibration on the dial pad.
send from x10a flash with x10i nordic 2.1
I have looked all over forums and internet and I have found no one who is able to disable the vibration from my HTC EVO 46. I cannot stand the dial pad lay out and it showing the call history right above it and can't seem to find a replacement for that either that will be my default phone dialer, not something I have to additionally go to.

On stock Gingerbread, when receiving a phone call, I just pushed the button to answer or ignore. Now on CM7 I have to slide to unlock in order to answer or ignore. I have checked all the Cyanogen Settings for the lock screen and phone and there is no way to diasble this. I also use "No Lock" from the market but it looks like there is no option to change this cm7. Can anyone help?
When screen is locked and phone rings, you slide to answer. When you are on your phone with the screen in, you push button to answer. I havnt been on cm7 for a while, so I could be wrong. That's how it is in homebase

No, you have to slide to unlock whether the phone is awake or sleeping. After researching for a while I can't understand why this would be stripped in cm7 when they seemed to fix it in Gingerbread and even Froyo I think. Seems like a lot of people were complaining about it on other message boards. I just wonder if it was intentionally stripped out of cm7 along with the ability to ignore with text response.
Uhmm.. Mine works fine. No issue like that.don't need to unlock to answer.

Thanks for the reply but could you be more specific? Are you running the Cyanogen Mod 7 beta ROM and if so are you saying that when your phone rings that you don't have to slide to answer i.e just push the answer button, or are you saying that you dont have to swipe to wake up your device and then swipe to answer?
Yep running latest cm7 available for atrix. Didn't really changed anything regarding the locksreen.. though i do have gestures enabled along with the regular lockscreen.
I only have to slide to pickup the phone.. never needed to slide to unlock.. then slide to pick up..
I think you misunderstood my original post. I do not have to "slide to unlock" to wake the phone in order to "slide to answer". Just like you, all I have to do is slide to answer. I want to change it where I can just push the "answer" button to answer the call like you could in stock Gingerbread.

not sure if this does what you want it to do, but i replaced my caller ID screen with it because the stock one wasn't compatible with my density levels.
anyways, check it out, it's pretty customizable: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.androminigsm.fscifree&hl=en

Well you need to reword this..
You can try and use a different dialer in the market. Personally, Sliding makes more sense to me as you don't wanna accidentally pick it up or hang it up on a press..
Maybe widgetlocker will let you add extra sliders to your lock screen.
I do not want any haptic feedback, vibration, or my phone to ever vibrate from pressing a button on my phone. I cant find where to turn off 100% of this very annoying battery wasting feature.
Might someone please advise as to how i can do this?

I believe you can remove the vibration from the Settings - Sound - Vibrate Feedback option.
Now the keyboard is tricky, I install Thumb Keyboard 4 which allows me to remove sounds and vibrations of the key press, don't know about the stock keyboard. Yet I still recommend Thumb Keyboard 4

Keyboard has it's own setting under language and keyboards. Then you go to your specific keyboard.
I am also not sure if apps can override the global vibrate setting or not but most apps like calendar, gmail etc have their own vibrate setting you can turn off if one of them somehow skirts through the global setting.

I have an I-747 (ATT) SGS 3 and it's stock rooted.
I have only had the phone a couple of days and I've noticed the phone touchtones are missing. There's no touchtone sounds when dialing a number and when entering a key on the keypad like to enter a VM password, I get this ugly monotone sound on each key. In other words it doesn't sound like a touch tone phone. Is this normal?
I've installed the STock ROM via Odin and it still does this.
Normal? if not how can I fix it?
Its in your settings
Menu Button>Settings>Sound>Keytones

Not there
Im out of ideas, maby its in the manual somewhere?
Im perplexed. I'm assuming the tones are built in to the dialer apk ill pull one from a rom and move it to the phone and see what happens.
I think it must be a hardware problem. I just installed the latest OTA through KIES and the problem persists. Very strange because I get touch tones in go dialer.
If anyone cares...
I chatted up Samsung Tech support today and was informed that this is normal.
The dialer doesn't do touchtones.
I prefer the 4.3 dialer to the new 4.4 dialer in kitkat. I tried removing google dialer and replacing it with a copy of 4.3's dialer from my nandroid. It sort of worked. The dialer launches and works as you'd expect. However as soon as you press send to make a call, the dialer screen disappears. The call is placed successfully but you can't end it, see the keypad, or speaker options. The in call screen basically disappears. You can still get to call history but none of the call screen options are visible.
So I think it is close to working. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Was interested in knowing the same. Any ideas?

Hi
I have the same issue with the stock 4.4 dialer! I can end the call by pressing the lock screen button (configured in accessibility). Any thoughts?
P. S. I have a stock 4.4.2 nexus 5
to replace dialer you need root access. Otherwise you can't make calls.
Never mind my post.
Any news ?

Ok root access is available - I would just prefer to put my dad's phone on Kitkat but he hates the new dialer. Is it possible to use the 4.3 dialer with kitkat?
