[THEME][For Iced Glacier]DarkerFroyoSense - myTouch 4G Themes and Apps

Alright guys, this is a theme that i concocted. It has images from DarkFroyo for cm, so credit to djdarkknight for those. And also, i want to give thanks to teamsilence for helping me and giving me suggestions.
GUYS THE MARKET WILL ONLY THEME IF YOU FREEZE THE MARKETUPDATER.APK WITH TITANIUM BACKUP, THEN FLASH THE THEME, THEN THE MARKET, THEN SIGN IN WITH GOOGLE. THE NEW 2.2.7 MARKET CHECKS FOR A SIGNATURE THAT IS IMPPOSSIBLE TO MATCH. IF YOU WANT TO THEME THE ENTIRE ICED GLACIER ROM, YOU HAVE TO WIPE, REFLASH ICED GLACIER, GET TITANIUM BACKUP FROM QUICK OFFICE OR THE INTERNET(NOT THE MARKET), THE FREEZE MARKETUPDATER, THE REFLASH THE THEME WITH MARKET.
Despite that bug, i am releasing this to see if people like it, and whether or not i should continue with this(and also for other people to help me get the market themed lol)
Links: (theme) http://www.4shared.com/file/BUgxe4D6/DarkerFroyoSenseBeta2.html
(market patch which isnt working)http://www.mediafire.com/?evjmaaya8b6uvx8
(market apps thanks to djdarknight)http://www.mediafire.com/?om9c6e5ufbpz74h
Give me some crit.THis is my first theme for the mt4g, but i want to hear what yall think.
I am also taking requests for this theme to make it better.

Do you have an md5sum for this? I downloaded it but the installation keeps aborting saying cant open (bad).
Thanks

Huge fail on my part
The link is back up. Sorry about that...

Not sure if I applied this correctly, but I flashed the zip thru recovery and everything looks great. The market did change to a dark theme and no FC. A clear pull down menu would be a nice addition to the

Wait, so the market themed for you?Glad it worked for you man. It wasnt working for me, but oh well.
So a clear notifications bar?Like, the pull down back ground is clear or the status bar(just the bar) is clear?

Yea, a clear(see thru) window when you pull down the notifications bar.
Hopefully I didn't speak too soon about the market. Not getting any FC, but it stays on downloading and never downloads. Is the market having problems today?. I'm using the new market.
Update: Market now downloading apps, but very slow. Market overload today?

hmmm, have you tried rebooting, clearing the caches, re flashing the patch, etc?

Just wiped the caches and reapplied. Still the same. Long, long time to start download and then slow. Here's hoping it's a market problem.

I flashed ice and the theme again and ended up only getting FC's for market. Hope this gets worked out. I like this theme
Heres a pic of the Market when it was working.
http://s1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb425/dafish69/?action=view&current=snap20101224_112232.png

I know what the problem is.
Apparently the market updated from 2.2.6 to 2.2.7. In turn, it changed everything.
now there is a market under data/app which i have to theme. Hopefully it wont give me errors.
ON to theming that damn market.

Guys try freezing market provider with titanium backup
EDIT:I FOUND OUT HOW TO THEME THE MARKET.Updating OP

Alrightey OP is updated.

Why are the screenshots mediafire links? Upload them as attachments.

wait, i can do that?
Man, I am an utter fail.

Much better, I can see the images, lol. Looks good. I think I had that wallpaper on my PSP back in the day!

[MOD] I9000 *matte* skin and accurate battery *10/5/2010*

First and foremost, this would not have originally been possible without all the hard work zimphishmonger and the3dman13 did to bring fighspit's original battery mod to the vibrant, please see the original thread here, and give them some thanks! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756441
I'm also borrowing zimphishmonger's warning, as i think it works to keep warning messages standard across all these battery mod threads.
WARNING: ALWAYS make a nandroid backup prior to installing any modification, including this one. You are making the decision to install this on your own, and I am not responsible for anything nuclear that may happen to your device.
UPDATE.. I lost count (10/5/2010)
So I dig Eugene's Frankin-twiz rom's, but I still want to keep my accurate battery mod, and well, I think his glossy-black skin is ugly. I also think the stock vibrant touchwiz skin is ugly (for the love of all that's holy samsung, why did you decide the vibrant would be the ONLY galaxy s phone to get your stupid glossy version of touchwiz?!)
So, I ported my battery mod to frankin-twiz and at the same time, ripped all the matte (non glossy) drawable's from the I9000 touchwiz skin, and added in my colored status/signal, mms, calendar, music player, and gmail icons, restored the black background for the power control widget, added HTC's weather icons to GenieWidget.apk, changed to the stock I9000 bootup and shutdown animation and sounds, and of course, I probably missed something else too, lol. You can see some (semi-outdated) screenshots here: http://picasaweb.google.com/113127051130934911253/AndroidStuff?feat=directlink
Also, if you find yourself being a typography nerd like me, you can use this zip to switch the default system font to Comfortaa I take NO CREDIT WHATSOEVER for making the original font, or the android port, I only re-packaged the files into a Clockwork-mod zip file for the vibrant. This will also change the lockscreen clock font to comfortaa, but ONLY if using the default android lockscreen.
Comfortaa system fonts: http://www.4shared.com/file/hYu1TYHL/Comfortaa_system_fonts_ONLY.html
New for ftwiz_final: I'm including an extra version with the samsung calendar AND the AOSP mms app, per Eugene's thread, since it resolves issues with being unable to send sms/mms messages. I'm also including the newest version of my battery mod (this is the version I personally like best and use daily), based on the upright/vertical icons, but with colored borders/outline, and a smoother charging animation (thanks to untermensch!) This can be applied on its own, after you flash either of the other versions. If flashed without flashing one of the other versions first, it DOES NOT contain the gmail/calendar/mms/music player icons, or the startup & shutdown animations and sounds. You can see a screenshot added to the post below too.
Download links here, ftwiz_final ONLY:
Removed, sorry, too many people use other people's work without giving credit, and it leads to way too many headaches, he-said/she-said, ignorance, etc.
Everything should flash via clockwork recovery fine, place the zip on the root of your INTERNAL /sdcard directory, reboot into clockwork, I recommend wiping the cache & dalvik-cache, then install zip from sdcard, locate the specific zip, reboot.
Enjoy, cheers everyone, and if you come in here posting bugs/whining for help without first making sure you cleared your cache and dalvik-cache, then I'm just going to ignore you,
Looks Great!!!
Thanks alot works well on my phone
i love it! not a big fan of the round battery icon, so this is great
Great work! Glad to see everyone is making their own customized battery images. We are gonna have a battery collection soon.
just a quick update to the OP with a new version with some colored/themed status icons.
cheers

I did, switched from the green circle. The battery indicator works fine.
I used the circle one but saw this with the other colored icons and thought they were cool. Seems that they don't quite work properly. Stock the GPS indicator shows in the notification bar any time it's on. With the new icons from the op the indicator is only on if I'm in an app that is using the GPS. I'm going to flash back to stock then to the battery only mod (i figure I need to to switch the other icons?)

Hi,
Thanks for trying it out. I have no idea how there might be issues since this is literally just img replacement from the segmented green circular battery mod, so however icons should work with that mod, is how they should work with this mod.
Maybe run a fix permissions from rom manager and see if that helps?
Also, my GPS icon has never worked like you described, even stock, (in other words, mine isn't always visible in notification bar, even when not in an app actively using gps, its displayed only when using an app that needs GPS, and disappeared when exiting the app.)
If you want to try and modify your own framework-res.apk with these files, I may upload just my png images once I'm done replacing/coloring all the icons I feel like modifying.
Thanks again for trying it out though, cheers
Lastly, I got bored and colored the wifi icons, cell-signal icons, and vibration indicator icon, I'll post the framework-res.apk in the first post, but won't package a new update.zip until I decide I'm done modifying icons, lol.

Excellent work! I like the new colored signal icons. Consider possibly creating a metamorph of it, as they are very easy to update.

I'll be switching back to your colored icons and battery now.

Hey again,
Glad I wasn't screwing up phone's, lol.
Anyway, I'm still working on changing all the icons, can't seem to decide where to stop yet, since now I've started modifying icons for other apps, gmail, mms, google voice, trillian, etc. And of course, now that I've gone with a slightly brighter green in the other icons, I may go back and tweak the color of my battery icon to match.
Anyway, here's a screenshot of some of the icons I'm mostly finished with (though for some reason I'm not digging the alarm icon, anyone have color suggestions for it?)

Yeah...sorry about that. Anyway I hate that stupid icon to begin with so maybe something totally different? I did a GIS for alarm clock icon and there are a lot of possibilities. I think that maybe the stock one with a red square and white clock could be good.
Edit: Maybe something like this

If you don't already have it, I suggest you install Koush's Clockwork Recovery. You can install it quickly by using ROM Manager.
Once you boot into the recovery ROM, you can back up your entire phone using Nandroid (highly advised) and then you're free to experiment to your heart's content.
Now back to your question: you can save the file to your internal SD card and search for it using the 'Install from SD' (or something like that) option in the Clockwork ROM, install it and reboot.
Good luck, friend.
What's the right way to revert this? framework-res.apk restore?
Updated OP with newest mod.
I think I'm done with this for a while now, though I might zip all the png files if someone else wants to try and make this into a morph when the app gets updated.

Hi,
Yes, restoring your backed-up framework-res.apk will restore the battery mod. If you used the newer zip that also includes the Gmail icon mod, then you'll need to restore Gmail.apk too /system/app too.

wait is the only change the notification drop down? or is it everything like the other thread? the drop down looks really nice
Yeah can you elaborate on the changes or post additional screenshots?
It's the status bar, pulldown, popups, menu icons, buttons highlights and other things you would find on the framework. More screenshots when I find time to port more of this theme
It looks so nice.... someone please port the whole thing over
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
The Dialer for ElegantSteel is absolutely sick.... amazing.
I'm LOVING this. I'm so glad that someone finally ported over a great theme I;ve been too busy/lazy lately to bother doing any ports myself haha
Hey guys.
I tried to install this using Clockworkmod recovery... all seemed well... I can reboot into it and the status bar has changed to the lovely shiny look this new mod has...However, as soon as I unlock the screen the phone goes nuts... everything force closes... from ADW, to the core android process, to the logger process. Basically it seems like every process running force closes, restarts, force closes, so I can't get to my home screen... I just have perpetually force closing dialogue boxes to click.
I have to restore my nandroid backup to get out of it.
Anyone have any idea why this might be ? I would love to be able to install this.
Cheers

[REQ] Stock Notification Bar on Frankin-Twiz

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the stock notification bar/drop down on Eugene's Frankin-Twiz? I would assume it's just a matter of grabbing it from one of the earlier roms, but I'm not too sure on the specifics of how to do so.
I assumed it was just a matter of editing the framework-res, but like I said, not too sure which file(s) it would be.
Am I completely wrong in thinking this is possible? Thanks!

Hi,
do you mean just the matte black instead of glossy bar along the top of the screen? Or the pull down menu showing you current notifications? Or Both?
If just the first, its only one or two drawable files in framework-res.apk, if the latter (pull down on its own or with the top bar too) then its files in both framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk, not too hard to figure out really.
My beta vertical battery mod for franken-twiz (found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=758797) includes most of the changes, and I can post a twframework-res.apk to revert the rest, but be warned, I switched to the non-glossy touchwiz drawable files that come with every other Galaxy S phone, stupid samsung/t-mobile decided our phone needed to be "shinier" than the rest of the series =(.
Cheers,
=)
~ Jocelyn
Hey thanks for the response! I actually really like your work!
I guess to make it easier to explain, the only thing I don't like from Frankin-twiz is when you pull the bar down, where it says "T-Mobile" and "No notifications" or "Ongoing" ... the text doesn't exactly fit in the area.
And I do prefer the matte look over the glossy, so that's probably why I like your stuff!
Edit: Disregard the question about pushing via ADB. I see your instructions in the other thread.
Okay I got the bar taken care of and it looks great! Thank you for that.
Now I'm about to do twframework-res.apk so that it matches, but before I do, does it go in /system/framework as well and do you recommend clearing the cache partition and dalvik-cache afterwards?
Well I got it and it looks perfect! Thanks so much for your help and work!
Edit: Ran into an issue. Whenever I try to download/install from the market, I get a Force Close on com.android.vending. Any idea why? I wasn't getting that problem before.

Hi,
Not sure about any FC issues, market works fine for me.
That said, however, usually FC issues from mods like this can be fixed by running a repair permissions in rom mamager, then rebooting into clockwork mod and clearing the cache and dalvik-cache.
And also, I ALWAYS recommend clearing the cache/dalvik-cache after any mod.
Cheers,
=)
~ Jocelyn
You could also go into settings, apps, manage, market, and uninstall updates..
I don't understand how this happens to ppl... Happened alot with htc devices but never on my sammy yet...
Edit: Thanks Junk, didn't see your post before my last response. That took care of the problem. I wonder how that happened, either way, thank you!

Blue Breeze Clean Rom

Now that some cool things for the Fascinate are starting to show up, I kinda pieced some things together from different sources to come up with my perfect rom (for today anyways ).
I have been running jt1134’s Super Clean D101 rom for awhile now. I found that I like some of the Samsung stock apps that were removed from his rom a little bit better. I found that I really liked the stock clock, music player, and messaging (with the swipeable features). So I added those back in.
Also added was the Blue Minimalism v1.3 Theme for a little blue, and the black notification bar with the see-thru drop down menu from the “Blackmod”. It also has the stock, non-puzzle, unlock screen with blue.
The kernel is stock with no oc.
Just trying to share what I like at the moment. I take no credit other than mixing up some ingredients on work others have done. The credit really goes to:
Jt1134. For that awesome clean rom tons of us have been using lately!
Raiderrep. For porting over the blue minimalism v1.3 theme (thanks to the original developer)
Stanrc. For the black notification bar and clear notification drop down menu.
DroidX007. For pulling the stock Samsung apps out for use and for being brave to test the blue minimalism theme out.
This is a clockwork recovery file. Unzip and put file inside into your SD card/clockworkmod/backup file and restore from menu. If someone knows how to switch it over to an update file, or show me how to do it, that would be great.

Very very nice. I don't think I'll be flashing it though. I like the puzzle unlock screen and some of the bloatware that gets removed in this. I also like the neon blue loading screens, but I want to make them darker. I didn't think I wanted anything TW on my phone when I first got it but a few aspects of it have grown on me.
EDIT: We live in the same city :O I think I will flash this. I love blue. But what all gets removed, and what happens if I have certain things frozen with Titanum? Will they just be left alone?
Well man from the Burg, make sure you do a back up first of what you got before you flash any rom. That way, if you ever need to get back those programs, you are safe.
I dont use Titanium but I would assume the files will still remain in you backup folder. When they are frozen, the arent deleted. So as long as you keep that backup file untouched, you should be able to restore those through Titanium as well.
As for everything that is removed, the base rom is Jt's and you can see it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=796171
All the essentials are there. Jt just removed a lot of the stuff that really was bogging down the system. He also removed some of the Samsung TW style apps and replaced them with stock android apps. I put those back in as listed in the OP.
Do a backup, flash it then you if you like it you can start adding anything deleted back into it with Titanium.
Also, in Jt's op linked above, you can get the puzzle screen lock back.

EDIT: Finally got it to run. Will this remove my lag fix?
EDIT 2: Why is everything wiped? I was not expecting that...
After restoring, backing up my contacts, and re-flashing, my contacts restored but my apps decided not to. But the phone just feels...faster. Do I need to restore, backup, and flash again?
Looks nice but I am not smart enough to make this work.

Use Titanium to reinstall all your apps. When you flash roms, you get real good at reinstalling your apps and settings. Hint, if you use LauncherPro or ADW, there is a backup function that will back up your screens exactly like you had it!

where may i get that pls??
I would love % on battery...otherwise it's awesome!!!!! Thanks.
I have not tried this rom, but I assume its deodexed because steeeler is using Jt's deodexed super clean rom. with add mods and tweaks like Raidereps Blue Minimalism theme and other sources as well that he listed at the OP. It looks like it should be a pretty straight forward rom its just not a zip file so it will be installed differently thru CWR.
Cheers

Sorry about that. Should have put that up. I added to the op.
Is there anyway to put the visual voicemail back in to prevent the dialer from crashing. If you touch the voicemail button the dialer will crash. That was my issue with JT's rom. I can't seem to get voicemail back in....
Otherwise this is a great rom. Thank you....

Good catch, first time I heard of that problem. I always just use the quick dial 1 to go to voicemail.
I wonder if it has something to do with the deodexing. This is a different dialer than on Jt's.
I'll poke around his thread to see if anyone has a fix

[Q] [HELP!] Go Locker Theme Problem

I've published a couple Go Locker themes and recently just noticed something that is driving me insane. I am using a Galaxy Nexus and kanged a couple of their lockscreen's. No problems with those at all. Install fine on every device that I've tried. MDPI, HDPI, XHDPI no problems, all with just a HDPI folder, no other resources. Recently I made a football lockscreen and want to make sure it's available to as many people as possible. This is where the problem lies. It will not work on an XHDPI phone from the market. It installs fine when testing and from using the same apk as i used to upload to the market. But when a person download and installs it then tries to apply it, they get all white preview images and then if you apply it it gives a completely clean screen that looks like its unlocked but is locked only unlocking by the home button or a status bar pulldown action. I've tried for a couple days to figure this one out and am pretty stuck. The apps are not checked for copy protection in the market either. If anyone has any clue what-so-ever it would be greatly appreciated.
(I tried adding a drawable-xhdpi folder too, no bueno)
When I download a theme that does not work (no preview image), I can NOT find it with root explorer either even tho it says the app is installed on my phone. I am almost completely lost as other themes I've done work with no problem.

UPDATE: I have had someone (BigNaDad aka BigDX) finally let me know exactly what the issue is. It is an encryption that Android 4.1 (jellbean) puts on paid apps. Go Launcher/Go Locker currently have no decryption process for themes therefore paid themes will not work properly if you are running anything after Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Hope this helps someone else's headache.

Hi,
Do you have a fix for that? I'm also having same problem as non of my paid go locker themes dont work at all. Please tell me how to fix it if you have an idea.
Thanks
Vajira
I have them email me a copy of their receipt and then send them the same apk that I originally uploaded to the market. Annoying but still gets the job done. Wish the Go Dev Team were a little more helpful with the issue.
Possible solution

I think I found a solution. I moved lockscreen.xml file from assets/skin folder to res/raw folder. I tested it on JB as a paid theme and it worked.
The only thing I couldn't figure out is it does not show the theme thumb and preview images on go locker theme chooser. They are all blanks (but still you can apply the theme from there). I tried to move them from assets/preview folder to res/drawable-hdpi folder, but it gave me few errors that I couldn't solve.
Give it a try and see if it works for you or not. Let me know if you have any other solution for this including preview images.
btw I haven't tested my solution on GB and ICS devices.
