Everytime I save an image off google and try to set it as a backround ,it allways resizes to a zoomed in version of the wallpaper.
What do I need to do to correct this ?

Try WallStreak. Do a search here.
when you save the image and try to set it as a background, do you get the little cropscreen box that lets you pick which portion of the image you want as your background?
If you click on the edge of that box, you can expand it to fill the whole image, and thus not have to crop the image at all.
Yes thats correct, but not for Streak with Froyo. I have the same problem. Independent on selected area the image is always zoomed.
get multipicture live wallpaper..you wont have to crop your wallpaper there.
Its a live wallpaper but you can use individual pictures as static wallpaper
Thanks man!!

960x800 on Android 2.2
Have fun!

I have a stupid question ... when I try to change the wallpaper a square box appears over the new image I want to use. This is like a crop box or something. It has arrows around the sides of it. I can click it and make the box bigger or smaller, but it will not fit around the entire image ... or any image that I try ... when I hit save wallpaper it cuts the wallpaper and make's it larger than it should be. I dont get it.... I am use to windows were you just hit fit to screen or cover screen and the wallpaper will fill the screen (either shrink or expand) and wont crop or enlarge it. Is there no way to make a picture that is let's say 1280x800 just shrink to fit on the screen without losing any of the picture or zooming way into the picture like it currently does ?
Please help !
THanks
Download wallpaper set and save from the market and use that to set your wallpaper. This will work awesome.

Did you install an alternate launcher? I did and the same thing is happening to me.
Basically when I try to select a wallpaper it's having me crop the image to fit the original B&N home screen. It gives me the same size box to crop to no matter which launcher I try to select the wallpaper in (I've got ADW and Zeam installed to try). When it displays the wallpaper it's zooming into the image to make it fill the much wider margins that the alternate launchers use.

This worked for me. you have to use the nook arrow -> settings -> home -> wallpaper in order for it to look correct. The launcher wallpaper managers are not working correctly.

Jeds right. Go to the original nook home screen and make your wallpaper change there. Btw if you rotate while cropping the pics, they work out very well. I am using the same wallpapers that I use on my droid1. Just copied them over and made a wallpapers folder on the sd card.

Hi!
I'm "trying "to install wallpaper or wallpapers in the Galaxy Tab 10.1vy believe me you do not see any good.
Let me explain: Download the funds that interest you (preferably a native resolution of 1280x800), you go to "Background" / Gallery, select the directory you want and asks you to resize the same fund, which in my NOT I never look good (always cut too).
Do you know it is because of this?
Do you know where are located the original wallpapers on our Tab 10.1v?
(let your wallet).
Thnx!
The problem lies with the fact that the app drawer also has a background that moves. Whenever you press the appdrawer you fly "up" over the wallpaper. So the wallpapers aren't 1280x800 they er more towards 4:3 aspect ratio. There for I advice you to get 1600x1200 wallpapers and cut it with the fact in mind that the wallpaper is somewhere near the bottom of the crop tool
I don't know if wallpaper scrolling can be disabled. You might have a fix for that. Good luck!
Download wallpaper wizardrii

Seems a bit late but anyway, here you go!
You may want to take a look at these two threads as well
''setting wallpaper'' issue solved alternatively
Wallpaper sizing issues...
Why is it when i get a 10.1 wallpaper from Wallpaper Wednesday and view it, I getbit perfectly fit to the screen. But when i set it its zoomed in and blurry? I've tried stock set as wallpaper, cropping in gallery, wallpaper auto resize app, wizardii app, and wallpaper crop app but going into share menu of Gallery.
This is completely stupid. A beautiful screen and image, dumbed down by cropping. See screenshots

use "wallpaper set & save" from market. it will help
Yup, and Wallpaper Wizardrii is another one.
Not tried set and save.
Wizardrii does not help. I tried all the settings from their thread post. It does not work. I end up with screwedup launchers and the wallpaper will set as portrait in landscape. Very frusterating.

I didnt have much luck with Wizardii either. I ended up using Multipicture Live Wallpaper. that framed pictures perfectly for me without having to crop.

+1 I use Multipicture Live also - it works great!
Did you try changing the compression to 100%,hd wallpaper enabled and image size to maximum in wizardii app settings. After these, try applying wallpaper as non-scrollable. The image resolution should be high! Try the wallpapers posted in this forum and see how they show up! these settings work very well for me, with wallpapers downloaded via droidiris app.
Yes, I did that. At least I am 95% sure. I uninstalled it and other apps anyway. I try to stay tidy.
I am using MultiPicture Live Wallpaper now that I am not using the SPB Mobile Shell Beta for Tablets. I really like it as you get a new wallpaper each screen and it displays each picture full screen in its native resolution.
Hey there!
Which resolution of wallpapers are you using at your Dell Streak mini 5? I tried 800x480, 800x444 and 960x800. Nothing worked.
I want to see WHOLE image, not only zoomed square.
I am using SimpleStreak 1.3 with Zeam Launcher.
EDIT: Yes, I am using that orange square for select image. But square can't be across whole image.
The proper wallpaper size is 960x800. Sometimes that orange square is finicky, because it is possible to select the entire image.

This has been covered many times.
The proper wallpaper size is 960x800. You will only be able to select the entire image with the native selection box if the image is a multiple of that size. If your image is a size that isn't a multiple of 960x800 the box will crop part of the image.
You will never see the entire image on one screen, it spans however many screens that you use with your home launcher - unless your home launcher has it's own settings - such as not scrolling the wallpaper when you change screens. Some home launchers have their own built-in wallpaper management. How much the image scrolls may change based on the number of screens you are using.
There are apps that will allow you to set an image for each screen, rotate through a folder of images, and otherwise customize your wallpaper. Many of these do so by using the live wallpaper API, in other words they become an app running in the background. Search the forum at StreakSmart, there are a couple of longish wallpaper threads there. be aware that how the Streak handles wallpaper and the size changed with the 2.2 update.
Please search before posting - this has been covered many times.
Edit: the wallpaper picker in QuickPic works very well and is less finicky than the one in the gallery.
Edit2: Here are some images that are the proper size.
The Muti Picture Live Wallpaper app free on the market ie one such app like Marvin02 mentions
Why is it that everytime i choose a pic out of my photo album to set as a wallpaper it asks me to crop it with a weird looking box. these happen with pics ive taken and also with wallpapers that are meant for the xperia S.
I also have that box with wallpapers for Xperia S (1440x1280)
I think it's just for when you want to use a part of that image, you still can select everything so i don't mind
with 1440x1280 resolutions you better select everything if you want best quality, but with images with higer resolutions for example the images taken with your XPS with higer resolutions you might want to select a part of the image (if you desire) :good:

Cheers.

Hi Harsh,
Just a follow up on PicSpeed wallpapers... When I use that method, and set an image to full screen, with no crop... After I reboot my phone, the wallpaper image quality has been reduced and I need to reset it to restore the quality.
Have you (or anyone else) / encountered this and do you have a solution?
Thanks again.
Dodol wallpaper maker from play store. That's exactly what you need
