Hello,
Often that when I unplug the cable, I receive a "Battery Charging Disabled". It says as well "The connected charges is invalid", but it is already unplugged. The message disappeared when i put back the cable. Has anyone had this message?
Cheers,
Y. Detzatze
Yes, I have seen these errors. I just ignore them.
I get the same message. And my phone does not charge. I have swapped batteries with a second dell streak, but cannot charge on the phone that gives the error message.

I just got a refurb Atrix as a replacement, and it's got a problem charging the battery (or something).
When I first opened the box, I plugged the Atrix in for a few hours. Unplugged it, tried to boot it up, and nothing. Plugged it back in, and it says the battery is still at 5%.
So I tried it on 3 different outlets, 2 different wall chargers (including the Atrix charger), and hooked up to my PC, removing the battery and SIM card a bunch of times as well. Won't boot while unplugged.
If I leave the phone on the wall charger, I can boot into Android, but the second I remove the charger cable, it dies. If I boot into Android using the wall charger, and leave it up for a few minutes, the battery % will jump from 5% to 100% instantly, but it still dies if I unplug it.
I took it to an ATT store, but they didn't have any replacement batteries. He tried it on his charger, and while it was off, it displayed the battery jumping from %5 to 100%, but that's the only time it has done it.
I've read through a lot of battery problem threads on here, but nothing seems to quite fit the bill. I've already called to have another replacement sent, but I wanted to know if anybody on here has had this problem and knows a possible solution, so I can at least use the phone while I await the replacement. I can't tell if this is a battery issue, phone issue, or, after having read some threads on here, possibly a software issue.
EDIT: Replaced the battery with one from a Droid X2. Worked fine. Battery was the problem.
Have you tried calibrating?
No, I haven't tried calibrating. I left the phone on the charger for a few more hours, and now it shuts off almost immediately when it boots up, even though it's plugged in, so I don't think I'll be able to.
Hi,
My galaxy s2 has started having several strange issues,
1st problem: when I try power my phone on I get a half full battery sign followed by a thermometer warning sign, and the phone won't turn on unless I plug it in,
2nd problem: computer won't detect phone via USB.
3rd problem, phone says "MPT connected" in notification bar, even when nothing is plugged in
4th problem, phone snows 100% charged symbol in too left and says "phone fully charged" even when phone is not plugged in,
Phone is only a few months old and is on stock there firmware running 2.3.5
Anyone have any fixes or will I have to send it to Samsung?
Thank you in advance
Doesn't look good. Might be a job for Samsung.
Had a similar problem with my S1. I think it was caused by a rain drop in the USB port.

omg. go and get a replacement
I got a Droid Razr from a friend who tried to do a "battery pull" to fix it when it was locked up or something. Her battery pull was exactly that. She ripped it right out tearing the ribbon cable that connects it. She says it worked fine before that, other than the "lock up". So I picked up a new battery from ebay and put it in.
It still didn't start up, initially. The first thing I did was plug the phone into the computer; that gave me the white led. Next, I tried the wall outlet adapter; that got me to the Motorola logo and the battery symbol that showed 5% charged and 100% charged, and nothing else. The phone wouldn't turn on.
After reading as much as I could find today, I found out about the factory programming cable that adds power to pin 4. I made one and then things changed up a little. Now, with the new cable, I can only get the phone to power on when it's connected to a computer and it does nothing when connected to the wall adapter. When connected to the computer, however, the phone boots all the way up but it won't charge. When I disconnect it, it turns off. I've left it connected to the computer or wall outlet in various states of operation (os fully loaded, boot menu, and off) all day.
While the phone is connected to the computer and booted up, when I go to battery stats, it says it's 5% charged and that it's draining.
I also decided to try connecting negative and positive leads directly to the battery terminals from the USB wall adapter. When I do that, the phone boots up and the battery stats says it's at 90% charge and draining.
I've tried 3 different wall adapters. One 500 mah, one 750 mah, and one 1000 mah. Same results on all of them.
Any ideas?
Edit:
I also inspected the inside of the phone for damage from the "battery pull" but there does not appear to be any.
I started seeing a "Slow Charge" notification yesterday saying that I should plug in a genuine HTC charger to optimize the charging time. I normally charge the phone at my PC using a USB docking station and have done this since the phone was new in April without ever getting this notification. Despite the notification, it still seems to charge fine though, although it might be imperceptibly slower, I didn't really test it. I did test with a wall charger and the notification went away (it wasn't the HTC charger), so at least it is checking for something.
I am charging the phone at work today (also through USB/computer) and get the same message, so it isn't just the home setup.
A couple theories that someone might be able to shoot down for me:
I accidentally ran my phone completely out on Saturday, would that have triggered anything? Maybe the battery needs a few cycles now that it has been fully* discharged?
The phone has been fairly warm when plugging in the last couple days (new game ), would that trigger this? It wasn't warm every time though and the notification is still there.
Unlikely, but was there a change with the 4.3 update that might effect this?
*The phone shut off, but I assume that didn't damage the battery since the phone did an automatic/controlled shutdown at 1% or so to go.
USB charges at 100mA and can ramp up to 500mA. The wall charger is 1A and will therefore charge significantly faster. Neither is an issue, but my HTC One has a tendency to see any non-charger as a USB port and therefore slow the charging. Only real problem is driving with GPS running.

Thanks.
Like I said, it hasn't been a problem, I don't even notice the difference in time to charge, it is just that it is new. And after 6+ months of ownership, something new randomly appearing is weird.
It is currently charging in the same port and doesn't have the notification by the way, so it appears random. Go figure.
I agree that it appears randomly. I'm not a fan of this 'feature' that HTC built in. I'm still looking to find out what HTC's threshold is the activates the notification and the slow charge mode. The only charger that this concerns me on is my car charger, but I haven't received the message lately. I also have not used my GPS on a long trip in a while.
Same issue "Slow Charge" notification + No PC connection
I also purchased my phone in April. Just recently (month or so) my phone is now giving me the "slow charge" notification. Also, I can no longer connect to ANY computer. I have tried 6+ computers and none of them recognize the phone. The phone doesn't seem to notice it is plugged in to a USB port either. I have tried toggling the Developer Options and USB debugging without any change. There doesn't seem to be much info on the internet regarding this issue, but the ones that I do find seem to be similar to my issue. This seemed to happen after the 4.3 update.
Are you also having problems with accessing your phone storage when connected to a computer? Thanks.

Hi bigpile,
Did you find a solution for this? It now happens to me too (slow charger notification and no usb debugging).
Same issue..
My HTC just started doing that. Tried all the usb ports on my pc it comes up with a "slow charge" message but if I plug it into a wall charger (a Nokia micro usb on in fact) it works fine.
Main concern is that the phone will no longer come up under "My Computer"
I can charge it fine using the wall charger but it just doesn't want to work through my usb port on the pc (I have tried changing the cable same issue)
I've been having a weird problem with my Z2. When plugged into my car or my laptop I get an error message to say that the "phone is using more power than what is being supplied" and it stops charging. However, when I unplug the phone the LED stays red, and the lightning symbol appears by the battery and doesn't go off until a reboot.
Is this happening to anyone else? I've only successfully managed to charge it with the mains adapter and cable it came with, no other adapters work?
I get the same but i plug it in again and remove and it fixes
Or even a reboot does it

I had it replaced by CPW - even after a reboot it still thought it was being charged. Restore didn't fix it either.
They switched it out no problem.

Same here. If I use the magnetic charger in the car and then remove it, the charging light stays on. If plug the phone into the dock at home and remove it, the charging LED turns off. Not sure what's causing it.
Maybe its because, as shown on included leaflet, dock charger is dedicated to wall charges?
I have noticed that sometimes the time it says it has been on battery is way off, I took mine off the magnetic charging dock yesterday at 12:00pm but when I check in the battery section it is saying 17 hours 58 mins & 47 secs on battery, it should be saying 1 day & 1 hour on battery.
