I am on stock froyo 2.2
Baseband - GAUSB1A131800-EU
Kernel- 2.6.32.9-perf
Build no. - 12821
So if I'm going directly from stock to streakdroid 1.7.0 do I need to flash amms or is my baseband good enough..
Also, is a factory reset highly recommended?
anyway i can backup my settings so i can get it back after installing 1.7.0?
And if i want to get back to stock 2.2, in case of warranty issues, If i go to settings -> system update and download 2.2 will it write over the streakdroid or is there anyother way to get back to the official froyo?
You do not need to flash the baseband. Only do a factory reset while in 1.7 if your experiencing any problems.

Once on streakdroid 1.7.0 if you want to go back to stock you have to reflash the stock recovery via fastboot then you can reflash build 309 or 318 to get back to stock. Can't do it via system->update. You have to have a stock recovery installed to get back to a stock build.

To all experienced Custom ROM installers,
I have a rooted vibrant, during the holidays I performed my first custom ROM flashing
During these days, I installed and re-installed a stock and custom ROMS a number of times. I think I got remmants of ROMS that I installed.
I want to go back to the stock android 2.1 JI6. I have a rom manager backup before I installed the custom rom
What is the procedure for a good wipe to ensure that the system is clean before I flash the stock t-mo vibrant 2.1 JI6 ROM ?
thanks
Reverting back to stock through Odin is more preferable. But if you're going to nand restore a stock 2.1 via clockwork, then you MUST flash a 2.1 kernel or any 2.1 custom rom that has the stock kernel. I'm not sure wether you flash the stock kernel beforehand or after the nand restore. But yeah, if you're currently on a 2.2 rom, revert that kernel to stock 2.1 before restoring the 2.1 stock nand or risk soft bricking your device!

thank you for the tip.
That is why when I restore my ROM manager backup (which was a 2.1 nackup) it froze and will ot boot. I will try restoring the 2.1 kernel first before restoring the backup
make sure the 2.2 rom you're using is compatible with a 2.1 kernel coz that will soft brick too
I flashed a custom rom onto my unlocked/unbranded streak and want to go back to stock 2.2. I have a nandroid backup but I would prefer the stock 2.2. Where can I download a full update.zip (or similar) to be flashed with clockwork 2.5.0.1 onto my US streak?
i dont know if there is a stock 2.2 in a zip
the only way i cud get a 2.2 on ine was to use QDL tool and that got me a pre release 2.2 on my streak and got the streak recovery working so you could download a stock 2.2 from the dell site and put that as #update.pkg on ur sd card and update that way then put clock work back on if u wanted i guess

Please help me how to downgrade from 2.3.3 to 2.2.2.
Please help me.
I am using dell streak 5
You have to be a little clearer... There is no gingerbread for the Streak except for StreakDroid 2.0, if you want to get back to a Froyo build, 2.2, all you have to do is flash StreakDroid 1.9.1 or 1.9.0.
Use the SEARCH and you can easily find out how this is done
I want to go to OFFICIAL 2.2.2 Version.
You can easily download the stock 351 update.pkg and stock recovery from the Dell Streak Wiki. Flash the stock recovery and then boot into recovery. Once in recovery choose option 2 to install the update.pkg which you have downloaded and put in the root of your external SD card. The recovery will see that update.pkg and begin to write it to your phone. You will probably have to do a factory reset to get it to boot
I got a new streak because my last one was acting up (warranty). The old one was rooted and had BB351. This new one came ATT Locked with BB347. Like a moron, i had the 351 Update.pkg on the sdcard and i tried updating via the new streak (holding down the power button and volumes buttons and selecting #2 update via sdcard).
now, no matter what i do, i get stuck at the logo. Any advice to just getting it back to normal?
you need to flash the 351 recovery img to use with the 351 install pkg, using the latest multirecovery flasher tool is the easiest way to do so, to save writing script. there are posts on how to do so in these forums

meaning can't directly upgrade 347 to 354? or upgrade to 351 first, then do another upgrade to 354? I got the same issue here...

If you are running 347 with stock 347 recovery you can try an OTA upgrade by downloading the 351 .pkg file direct to your phone and then tap on the DL notification in the notification tray. You should be on wifi to do this. You need a stock recovery to install the .pkg files. Checks are made to prevent installation of ROM from a different region. Since 347 and 351 are both 00 roms (retail unlocked) the upgrade from 347 to 351 may work. The advantage of this method is that you don't lose your settings and apps as you do when installing after booting into recovery and installing the package after it has been renamed to update.pkg.
You can't go directly (without using 354's recovery) from 351 to 354 because they are for different regions.
Ok, according to MobileTechVideos (who does ROM reveiws on youtube) the MIUI rom is to be installed the same way he installs CyanogenMod 7 in one of his videos (as seen here)...
In his method he states to after flashing to stock with Odin to flash the overstock kernel v1.5.2 UV, but I'm curious to know if in replacement of this could I use overstock v2.4.1 kernel instead or if after flashing MIUI using the overstock kernel v1.5.2 UV I could then flash the overstock v2.4.1 kernel over the 1.5.2 version?
Sorry if this question is confusing!
I use the revamped and or LE versions depending on which i like better for the new weekly update and flash the glitch kernel which was designed for miui and is extremely fast, and i flash the KB5 modem inwhich works best for me.
Generally i stick with the LE version wich is bloat free and add the apps i want and set the build.prop settings to my preference.
Ok i see in the stock miui.us they dont actually specify how this should be installed...so here it goes as i know it to work. You must be on froyo bootloaders!!!
Odin back to stock....for me its eclair (2.1).....then flash a 2.2 rom and make sure you have cwm....from there reset/wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvic...then go mounts and storage and format/ system.
Now flash miui, when its done go to advance and fix permissions, then reboot system wait 5 minutes and reboot....all done.
From this point on when installing a miui update you do not have to wipe data and reset but follow the rest of the steps and you wont loose all your apps and settings.
Pm me if you have further questions and ill be glad to walk you thru it.
Edit: i found that you can flash this from stock eclair but you have to root and get cwm,i find its just easier to flash a 2.2 custom rom that has root and cwm already on it and go from there
