i have the xperia x10a from att updated to free x10 2.2.1 beta 4 and for some reason about 2-3 times a day i get an error that freezes the phone that says application launcher not responding and i have to reboot my phone to make it go away, more annoying than anything, so
1) how do i get rid of it because i havent seen anyone else with the same problem?
2) would re-installing free x10 via xrecovery, or re-flashing fix it?

try uninstalling pro launcher and reinstalling that worked for me in the past
I updated to 7.6.0, and up till now, no fcs!

I'm using the same FV 1.2.2 Rom and I must say that the same thing has been happening to my Hero. In fact, since installing FV 1.2.2, I have been getting so many FC's from Launcher Pro and music tracks keep stopping in mid stream.
I also find that the phone just switches itself off randomly.
Almost returned to VR12.0 because I had NO trouble with it but saw an update to Launcher Pro (I bought the 'Plus' version) and just installed it, so lets hold thumbs.
Having updgraded to 2.1, I wanted to try Google Earth.. it's not available for our resolution, so I thought I'd try the Eris Market Fix, which wasn't available for Android 1.6.
Well, it's totally borked my phone! I thought it would just alter the market app, but instead it's lowered the resolution, I'm getting force closes all over the place, some of my app icons have vanished, menu navigation keeps breaking, and I can't tell if it fixed the market because I've lost all connectivity!
Does anyone know how to undo the Market Fix? I suspect I'm going to have to do a repair via SEUS, but I can only do that at home in 8 hours time. :|
edit: It's also knackered SuperUser, so I can't do anything root-related, and now I can't even shut down, because the screen's so corrupted. Out goes the battery..
i updgraded to 2.1 too and the fix for 1.6 dosnt work :-(
i forgot to save my original Vending.apk now i have no market anymore (lol)
can someone upload original Vending.apk pls? or post a link how to fix the market on new x10 mini android 2.1

Hello I am from India n my phone's running on nordic 2.1.
I am having sever lag when running messaging application. The application opens fast but when sending message it stays on sending message and when i hit back button to the all Threads list it takes lot of time even then. It lags even when a new message has arrived and when I want to check. I am getting this problem after 5 or 6 days after updating.
I reflashed it again using SEUS. At first it was fine and experiencing problem now again after like a 5 or 6 days again. Tried removing major applications and also removing sd card but the lag stays. And continuos messaging leads to crash. I see "keypad" process eating a lot of cpu when the lag happens. Can anybody please help? Its so frustrating to flash it often and then backup/restore. Thank you

Why not try Handcent SMS? It's available on the Market as a free download.
I have tried Handcent and chompsms too. still had the same problem. Just reflashed it with a diff fw ( nordic before, now on global ) and also rooted clearing my inbox and removed unwanted appz and JIT enabled. Let me see if I find any improvement.

2 seconds isn't too bad!! I like Handcent because it's so customizable. Haven't gone back to the stock messaging app since I installed it.
Strange how so many people are having different issues with the update.

hey guys ive updated to 2.1 and Rooted my x10 and now i have lost the ability to search my phonebook or use sms app. seems like people are saying the problem is with timescape, my phone worked perfect for a few hrs after rooting it, and now its just gone to the crapper. i just keep getting this error

seems like alot of people have had this problem, timescape has actually dissappeared from one of the 5 new screens with the 2.1 upgrade.

also tried installing handcent for sms and phonebook 2.0 just to replace the standard apps, and when i try and open the apps i get the same error grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Do you have an idea of a working skype version for the X10 Mini, not for Mini Pro?
I'm running CM7 2.0.7, but all the skypes I've tried on it are unstable - they crash suddenly, restart themselves, can not login after they've restarted, they want force close or exit and so on.
I've tried the moded skype 2.1.0.46, but when I turn on "force video calling" option it wants to restart and is unable to login after that, because of constant crashing on sign in.
I've tried an older stock version(from the market) of it, from which I've had a backup, but it is also unstable.
The last market version of the program wants to be reinstalled, but after the reinstall the same problems occur - message "skype should be reinstalled" appears again after some work.
So, do you have a working version of skype for X10 mini, CM7 v7, Gingerbread 2.3.5? I already know that video calling is not possible on the mini for now, but any working and stable version of it at least?

Well, gyus, I accept your silence as a recognition, that there is no good working version of skype for the Mini, or that you don't use skype on your phone at all.
I'm using version 1.0.0.983 on the mini pro. Dunno if it will work on the mini .

I've been searching for such an old and stable version of skype for a long time! It's really stable on first use and I think it's perfect for the Mini! I've been using this version for a while, before I had done the updates to the newer craps with so many "options", that are not compatible with the Mini's processor and actually make the program an unstable crap.
Strange but... after a few days of use this old version of skype also logged off itself with no reason. I was even not touching the phone at that moment. The internet connection hasn't stopped at all.
I don't know what's the reason for that, maybe the Gingerbread, which seems to be quite unstable on the mini.
I've noticed that skype is disconnecting suddenly even when there is more than 30MB of free RAM memory on the phone.
