OTA update - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I'm currently running Baseband .46 and due to the cable port on the phone itself i am unable to update via pc, so im stuck without dual touch and all that jazz
I was thinking about trying OTA update, so I went to the only stock-ish type rom I have which is i think '2.1-rooted-zdz' which finds an 8.64mb update, it goes through all the normal download progress bar, cuts off the screen, and boots into the box with the 4 dots underneath with a progress bar after that is done phones boots up and the following appears 'Could not update software'
i was wondering if this is because of something specific? Or has anyone got .46 shipped rom which can be flashed via xrecovery for me to try?
Thank you all for your time
*Edit*
I am on Orange-UK
Firmware Version 2.1-rooted-zdz
Baseband version 2.0.46
Kernel version 2.6.29

Device Management, Connecting to DM Server??? =S

So i just went back to stock rom like 30 mins ago and in the notification bar that's what it says and it was been there for a while? can someone tell me what that is?
I'm on Bionix-V 1.2.1 and just had it connect to the DM server for 5 minutes. Seems like nothing has happened, but still never seen it before.

Odd, same here...Saw the notification in the status bar for about 5 minutes, then disappeared. Went to settings>software update, no firmware. Last time I got this it was for the ji6 update. Running stock froyo.ka6.
Yeah I just got it twice this afternoon. Said it couldn't connect both times...runnin bionix 1.2.1 dow kernel
I got this today as well. First time failed. The second time it took about 5 minutes, but no update. Running stock Froyo 2.2 KA6 build
I believe this is why we are seeing the DM working and not getting any updates
What are your thoughts.......

Beginning February 7, T-Mobile and Samsung will begin sending an OTA update to Samsung Vibrant devices using Android 2.1. This update includes minor changes to the device software to ensure compatibility with upcoming network enhancements.
•There are no additional features included with this update. The device functionality will remain the same.
•This is NOT an upgrade to Android 2.2 (Froyo). See: Samsung Vibrant upgrade to Android 2.2 using Kies Mini.
•Customers who have already upgraded to Android 2.2 (Froyo) will NOT receive this OTA.
•Customers with rooted phones or who use unofficial device software versions will not receive this update.

i too have got this update notification several times. each time it asks to restart the phone. when the phone is booting up, the update icon is in the notification bar and says "connecting to DM server" but then disappears, and so does the update icon. when i check for software update is says no firmware. running 2.1 update 1 eclair uvji6 and was rooted, but the update somehow unrooted it.

Baseband Unknown Stock 1.6 ATT

I attempted to root my device and then upgrade to Froyo a few months ago. When I turn it on now it says baseband unknown in the settings. If I do a factory reset its does not fix the baseband. I am also unable to make phone calls. When I download the Froyo update from the dell website using wifi it hangs during the install and gets stuck on the dell logo.
Is there a way to update the baseband? I am newbie so if there is a step by step guide to this process it would be amazing.

[Q] Stuck on loop.

Here's a bit of back story incase any of you haven't seen my previous thread.
I unlocked the bootloader and installed cyanogen using this Guide. All worked well for a few weeks until my Wifi, Bluetooth and Mobile Hotspot all stopped working. So I created a thread and was told to try putting " Fruitcakes 2.3.5 System and Boot NO Webtop " on and the radio mentioned in this Thread with some success at getting it working for a few hours, but then it went back to what it was before, with activating wifi causing a reboot and bluetooth + mobile hotspot not working at all.
My phone info before I decided to RSD this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19657465&postcount=248]Image:

The RSD ( v5.4.4 ) showed all progression bars to full, however, when it gets to the " Please Manually power up this phone " stage, my phone is getting past the " Duel Core Technology " boot up screen, then gets to the motorola sign with red going round it and keeps rebooting and doing that. Click on the image below, it'll take you to a video and you'll see what I mean.
Could anyone please help?
Cheers!

[Q] "Camera not available" problem - Desperately need solution

First I want to thank all members that have invested precious time and effort to help everyone! You are doing an amazing job!
Second thing I want to say is that I've searched the hell out of the Xperia X10 forum to find solution for my problem. But everything I found and tried was so far unsuccessful. After 1 week of unsuccessful trials, today I decided to join and open this thread as a final effort to seek for answers and a possible solution.
Problem: Every time I open camera application I receive message: "Camera not available"
Tested solutions:
1. I tried SEUS and upgraded to latest firmware: - Phone wont start, gets stuck on camera icon.
2. I tried Sony PC companion, update mode: Same as number 1. Then I tried repair mode: Same as 1.
3. I tried Re-installing a dozen of stock firmwares, 1.6 , 2.1 , 2.3. From branded to Global: - Phone works perfectly, but "Camera not available".
4. I rooted, installed xrecovery, tried several solutions, changed files. no progress.
5. Installed custom rom: Donut HD2.2.6 - Phone works amazingly, but "Camera not available"
Phone info:
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i
Baseband: 2.1.71
Kernel version: 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537 [email protected] #1
Build number: DonutHD2.2
ETS is ******-8
Currently rooted and installed CWM and Xrecovery.
Cant unlock bootloader since it doesn't recognize certificate
I had a SD card problem before. Solved it by formating sd card with HP disk format software.
I hope someone could help me with this. I don't want to believe that the camera is dead because the phone is in perfect condition. But this would eventually be the final answer.
Thank you!
Have you try this:

I don't know if that is solution for your problem, but you may try.

Unfortunately I'm not able to try and test this solution because I requires a rooted stock android 2.1 (eclair).
My phone doesn't start up on any of the 2.1 stock versions. So far I flashed around 7-8 different 2.1 versions from global to branded etc. but no luck.
Camera with arrow on screen icon appears after which "Sony Ericsson" screen appears and phone gets stuck here and phone temperature rises.
This happens with all 2.1 versions and also when I update with SEUS latest X10 android version.
Only 2.3.3 functions properly on my phone and amazingly battery lasts for 2-3 days even with constant usage of wifi, calls, music and gaming.
But when I tried your suggested solution with the rooted 2.3.3 it gave me some errors in the CMD. Which I tried resolving by running "runme" file as administrator. But another error appears. This is I suppose because of the different android version. The guy says that it works only on a rooted stock 2.1 firmware.
Is there any other way I could test his solution on 2.3.3 rooted stock firmware ?
Thanks again for the reply!
I appreciate it!
