After reading page after page of threads. Even using the search function with no luck. I have decided to make a post......
Is there a kernel out for the fascinate that disables Verizon's monitoring of tethers and allows the use of wired and wireless tether. Pdanet is out of the question as I am a gnu/Linux user. My wife want internet connectivity when I'm not at home to tether my Eris.
Any kernel/ROM suggestions made would be greatly appreciated.

I think there was one but it was buggy. Some versions of superclean came with it, it was labeled as an eb16 kernel. And yeah, wrong section.
I believe that superclean version 2.9 has it built in. you can find it here:

Nope. As of sc 2.9, the EB01 kernel is back.

This is due to the 'EB16' kernel not actually being an EB16 kernel, they aren't quite sure what it is, and it was causing problems.
Sometimes voodoo wouldn't convert and a lot of people were getting random reboots and crashes.

Eugene373 makes some pretty good roms, look in the development section. The latest one is the hybrid, no touchwiz at all, just a hint of it in the ui.

I'll agree Eugene's ROMs are awesome....I am on V9 with JAC 1.2 kernel.

I guess when they are done by the developers that are creating them, or you could take up the task yourself and contribute to the community.
I think there is PLENTY of discussion about 2.2 and roms for the Vibrant please do some searching before creating yet another thread about this, we have beat this topic to death we are all in the same boat!
running eugene's Hybrid R3 and lagfix. Runs great, gets rid of most touch wiz. Only way I would be happier is if it was based on 2.2 but in time that will come too.

Still there are plenty of ppl who puts Q&A in general. So I was just emphasizing it.
Better memory management and better battery life in 2.3. Better looking UI and faster too!

Currently I have:
Firmware 2.2.1
Baseband: S:i500.04 V.EB01
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: SCH-I500.EB01
What is the latest, stable ROM out there for Froyo (or if exists, Gingerbread)?
Is overclocking available yet? My phone is rooted already.
If I wanted to revert back to the current ROM I have now, how do I properly back up the entire ROM, Apps, SMS, settings, etc prior to upgrading?

The release dates. People have had mixed results with the radios. Your mortar may vary.

You can only get the radio through the OTA updates...
There is no radio leak, therefore no standalone radio files
I've had **** 3g with eco1 radio on com rom, so I did the ota process and got edo3 and it is just as bad. Not worth it.

Question belongs in Q&A section. Otherwise why would there be a Q&A section? Dev section is dedicated to devs and their work. If i'm on dev section, I would like to see what's being done not some ignorant question that could have easily solved by 1-2 minute research. He has over 250 posts and still doesn't get the concept of where to post.

My point is that u can convey that without insulting. I get it. I also think the mods are capable of dealing with it without your help. What do you know, The thread was moved! Did u do it holy? No.i doubt it. Let the mods deal with it. They are much capable and tactful than the vigilante forum police. I want to enjoy these forums. Insults take some of that away.

I wanted to know what in your guys opinion matches the following Criterion:
ROM - Fast, Stable, no FCs, great battery life, everything works (task manager, Camcorder, doesn't allow phone to self-reboot)
kernel - Stable, fast, doesn't crash
Recovery - Same critrea as above
Modem - EH03 maybe? It seems to be the best so far.
But I think you guys get the drift, I would like to hear all your opinions in the Development section so that I can pick up all the individual components. Thanks in advance.

Why not, is this not the area where people get ROMs, kernels, modems, recovery files and things of that sort? How is this not related?

Ok thank you, do you think I can get this thread moved then please? if that's possible.
Report it to a modern using the button in the browser and request it be moved.

All ROM's and kernels have been getting better IME. I'm running Superclean 0.5 with the lastest KGB kernel with the best results ever. I'm thankful, after all the *****ing, that XDA, Samsung and Verizion seem to still be supporting this phone.
