i got a puzzle for someone to solve.. my hd2 broke today, and i just got a new one. my problem is that i cant remember the nrg rom i had installed in it... here is a description of what the rom look like:
when it booted, it showed the black NRG screen, then the htc simply beautiful crap, then the orange windows page.
has cookies home tab.
has youtube tab.
has registry.
has clear ram.
has manila tv right before you get to the settings tab.
the rom has a weird name, its like a dude's name.
does not have the Footprints tab.
if you have any ideas on what it could be, please email me.... i've searched the hell out of google, but cant find it.
Could it be the energy rom, perhaps?
I dont recall an energy rom coming with the manila tv tab or clear ram for a long time if ever. I think somethings been flashed over an energy rom and the splash screen has remained.

This is amazing for a beta. Email works. texts work. Its all in english and looks really nice. Love the new icons. And unlike the previous taxist ROMs I can access phone settings and set the bands correctly. all around loving it so far.
Its a perfect beginnig. I'm flashing tonight and hope for more news and releases soon.

Taxist rom for 6.5 is efficient in my case due I have BT8010 headset and watch mbw150 in terms of quality sound and battery life.

My observations so far, everything looks great, about 80% on my commonly used apps get the "application install unsucessful" error, I have been having alot of system hangs (could be something I did install) I am on a x7500 (tried an extra HR just to be sure it was not a remnant from the flash) also updated radio from 1.57 to 1.58. Well that is the joy of beta testing I have always liked the Michy roms, This is only a 1st release and a very good one considering the work involved. (been running various wm6.5 builds on my Raph so I expect some bumps)

hey michy, thanks for coming through for us. i've been away from my computer for a couple days and was relieved tosee that you posted a beta.
a few things because i xan't type fast on the phone.
**out of all the apps i tried to install, only abiut 16% was successful. even my beloved touchpal didn't install, i got no other keyboard to install, mot even shape writer. the PHM keyboard included doesn't work (when enabled i had to change keyboard in settings then softreset). Um, anyone got a good skin for VGAKEY?
**the menu system is much slower now...
**I love that the honeycomb is much faster scrolling!
**IEmobile is much more stable, i actually haven't tried to install opera yet. the only thing it is missing right now is tabs and a larger buffer.
**titanium is more beautiful but seems a bit slower than the 59.
**the camera seems a little slower than 59 too, but somehow it is showing me that i have space for about 2000 more pictures (at 1m) than it did on 59. so its either this build handles images much better than previous or it's lying to me.
**on the today screen please change the left softkey to phone (minor issue)
*when i put the visor on time, only the hour is shown, the minutes shows like "...". eg. for 12:30am it shows like this "12:..."
**the dialer is much slower than 59.
*the call status screen is beautiful. (i wish the dialer looked like it)
**why does it always go back to the home screen after i select an app? can this be changed by reg?

the problem with the time on today screen ks resolved: i fiddled with the time in region settings and it somehow made it work like it should.
Strange encounters from my device.
After flashed, couldn't get it to sync with pc.
even after untick advance in usb to pc.
Noted it never auto reset immediately at end of flashing,
others do.
After a few soft resets, device couldn't start up again.
Not possible from soft or hard reset. Only way is
to remove battery for several minutes, put it back and
then it will start up from power on.
Aware it is beta, just love to try it out.

13/3 update
After re-flashed by using SD card, device power up normally again.
The strange encounter I had was probably due to bad flashing.
Only thing now is unable to install program using cab or from pc.
well, now I can say only about 3% (I think its less) of all the apps I've tried so far to install actually installed....I've tried damn near a hundred app so far......
i tried 6.5 before...the test version...its VERY slow..i dont know about you version though, i will flash it soon to find out...i've been using ur 6.1 version and its THE MOST STABLE OS EVER!!! only one snag in that is that when u place the keyboard on the athena it doesnt show the small menu like the AP roms do...could u perhaps blend that in this rom?

There is a Sub menu app in michys roms that turns that on on 6.1 roms, I ont know about this one though.

First let me say that i have been a user of this forum for a short while now and i love all the stuff that it offers..
However, there is one problem that i cant seem to get fixed.. i currently have the mda varioIV aka the HTC touch Pro with a web and walk Plus

(They had an interesting offer with two years free if you take at least 300 minutes for two years..)
In order to see the channels i went to the page http://pda.t-mobile.nl, pressed the tab tv and video and the channels would be displayed there..
But now the channels are not there anymore, i think it happened after i installed a custom rom from this forum but i am not for sure. That being said, i called T-Mobile with this problem, they said they could not help me because i did not have the Original ROM installed.. so now i have no webTV but i am going to have to pay for it. PLEASE if anyone has a sollution or advise for this problem then help me.

You still can get those tv channels to work.
Just go to Opera and type "http://t-mobile.nob.nl".
My experiance with custom roms and T-Mobile TV isn't that good, skipping audio.
While the original rom doesn't have this kind of errors. That's why I'm still @ the T-Mobile Dutch Rom.
Opera is not working, i have a ShEp's Rom installed and Opera doesnt seem to work on my telephone (HTTP gateway timed out).. i will install that m-rom later on tonight and see if it works then..
It has to do with the product identification... The t-mobile website checks if you have a mda vario iv or not. Most custom roms change the device id to something else. I thought you could change it back somehow but not sure how, i never use that tv thing anymore...

Hey man, just reading ure thread, device id is under settings,system,About..it could be that that has changed to HTC_Fuze or something, I don't know what the origional device id would be but i expect Google does!
if it is not that you could try "Opera:Config" type this into Opera and it will give you a list, go down to "User Prefs" tap that, then Scroll down to
" Custom User Agent"
I use sgh-i900 to get BBC streaming, but you could use the mda device id..
hope this helps some, post again if you need more help or i what i wrote doesn't make sense!!
It is working, i can now go to the t-mobile.nob.nl page after installing M-Rom, i will try that device name later on since i am currently at work...

I recently updated my MDA Vario IV with the new rom, and i noticed the changed a few things.
for example the wheather tab has been replaced with a mobileTV tab. and the flip clock has also ben removed. there is also a Web n widget tab added which is pretty nice, but i really want the weather tab back and de flip clock.
can anybody help me?
Did you try looking at the settings to see if the tabs were there and just not active?
yeah i did, and all the tabs are active...

Not familiar with the MDA Vario ...
I've been using mostly ROMs from here for a while. You may want to try to reload the TF3D from XBox. That will bring back the weather for sure and the flip clock. You can download Manila TV and add that in. Not sure what you could do for Web n WIdget Tab, but I would do a search on all three:
Web n Widget Tab
Manila TV
Manilla Complete Xbox
and you should be able to just load them up.
Also, do a search on TF3D or Manilla and you will find a lot of pages that have work that folks have done for all kinds of fonts, clocks, tabs, highlites, etc.

Is your Startmenü also black background with black text? The 1.95 ROM of T-Mobile was only for couple of minutes on my Vario, it's the worst I have ever seen... After that I installed a Win Mobile 6.5 ROM with TF3D2 and now I'm happy

Not sure what version Kobip has installed. I'm currently using the latest from NRG his second 23009 build. And it works great. It does not have the Manila TV in the ROM and I haven't tried to install it separately.
Also, the latest Chrome ROM is nice and has the manilla tv already installed.
Ahen's ROM has some nice visual enhancements to it as well.
I think you've probably only been using the "official" release ROMs which from my experience aren't near as nice as what you will find here.
You'll want to unlock your phone...HardSPL etc. See the Sticky by Olipro on the Raphael ROM page. This not only allows you to flash non T-Mobile ROMs, but will help prevent you from "bricking" your phone.
You'll find that the customizations that you can do once you get away from the stock ROMs will make your phone look and perform better.

I don't remember if it was with the Raphael that I had to do some of the work arounds or not... I also Hard SPL and Unlocked a Hermes and Kaiser (8525 and Tilt). With one of them, I believe it was the last option for SSPLs... so don't lose faith...

the only thing is some of my hard keyboard buttons dont work like they're supossed too.. any ideas?

After initial boot you should have close to 274mb free storage and around 85mb for program.
This is windows 6.5 (not 6.5.3 or 6.5.5) but I will eventually get to those.
Files I removed:
All VZ bloatware
Some Samsung stuff i think (sorry I didn't do a list)
xt9 is also removed but I found that the i8000 xt9 keyboard works really well (i use this personally instead of the one built for i920)
I apologize that this isn't well organized, I just got really excited about releasing this Rom.
When I create my base Rom, I will make sure it is well organized with pictures. I didn't really do any customizing on it, but Titanium is enabled on it.
Just checked out your Lite Rom.
At load I think the windows mobile flag is stretched a bit. That needs to be cleaned up a bit. You might try a different color for your text, as Blue on that green is not so easy on the eyes.
274.47MB Storage ROM at boot and 90MB RAM free after a few minutes of non use good job for your first Lite ROM!
I noticed there are no contacts in your ROM. I'm not sure what you changed but you cannot add favorites in contacts either. I'm currently having the same exact problem and still trying to fix it.
The cube button is not set (neither is cube hold).
Transcriber was left in as a sip, not sure if anyone still uses that, you can delete from SYS to remove it (all three named Transcriber something).
Same goes for MSN Money, not sure if ppl really use that one.
Lockscreen error occurs when opening Media Player (actually called touch player). This is caused by not deselecting the samsung lockscreen in samsung settings. Not a big deal, but it will complain about it everytime you open it otherwise. on my roms I have it deselected by default.
Overall this is a very usable Lite rom, and I'd use it out of the box anyday over the stock version they are selling at the VZW store!

I was playing with a friends touch pro2 a few days ago and when I opened Opera 10 I saw the weirdest thing. There was a much slicker UI then there is in the normal version. It even showed the time let me put it simple, It was the most BEAUTIFUL browser ive ever seen! The only odd thing was when I clicked on the addressbar the onscreen keyboard didnt pop up, so u had to use the hardware keyboard. So then I deciced to check which version it was and compared it to the one on my hd2. Strange enough it had the same version/build number:s. So for days I searched the web/xda to find info on this different Ui, but all resulted in nothing! Then suddently this morning I realised... It might be the smartphone/non-touch version! So I installed that one and tadaa.. There my baby was in its fullest glory, fully touchable and all! If only someone could get the onscreen keyboard working, This would me be the most perfect slick lookin browser available!
