Since many devs here are working on old and new ROMS maybe someone is there that can fix the exchange problem android is facing.
I add all the exchange info correctly which then takes me to the "select the data to sync etc etc".
Have choice of selecting mail, contacts and calendar.
When I click Finish set up I keep getting..
processing...... then "Error: Failed to create the account. please try again later".
It's an android/google problem but someone here must have the knowledge to fix this right ?
Exchange worked fine for me first time. Are you sure it's not a problem with your Exchange server?
It's a problem with your exchange server - I have the same problem but my work's IT won't change the security settings server-side.
Luckily, the 2.1 firmware for Hero fixes this issue some how, and now I'm able to sync with my work's exchange server. They must have changed something in the activesync program or overall sync framework because now I don't have any issues - I tried reverting back to a donut ROM to see if it wasn't because of actual 2.1 ROM that fixed it, but it was.

It's not a Exchange issue. I know i can bypass security check but it's unwanted and it shouldn't be needed. It's just that android can't handle password policy.
I just had the same error,
I manage the exchange server so I know it was not that, I was messing with the rom (and broke it).. anyway I cleared data / reflashed the working 2.1 ROM and got that error.. I reflashed the ROM again (again again) and then it worked..
good luck..
As long as 2.1 fixes the password policy issue, would it be possible to fake it?
I mean, entering a 4-char long passcode everytime you unlock the device is not very convenient. It would be fantastic if one could let ActiveSync think that passcode enforcement is turned on, while it is actually turned off. That would be a killer!!

Got around this. Just installed "Lock 2.0". This overrides the lock screen with the well-known iPhone unlock slider. So one slide with your thumb is enough to unlock. This retains whole exchange sync functionality
I've turned off use wireless networks, I've checked the GPS settings (Bionix rom has them set to default) and my GPS (using the test tool) can see 9-12 birds if I let it sit there for 30 seconds or so, but after 20 minutes of letting it sit, still doesn't lock on to ANY of them.
I'm using the stock kernel, gps used to lock (although unreliably) on the older build (whatever comes with stock...JFD I think?)

Try sending a message to team whiskey to see if they can help you. Did you install any other updates after installing the Bionix rom and also make sure you give the stable release with fixed GPS a try.
I'm on bionix 1.8, I was outside for 45 minutes and never got a lock.ridiculous.
You guys should re flash. I've ran both 1.8 and 1.9, both lock onto 10/11 sats and 20ft accuracy in less than 15 seconds.

Nope; it's a fresh install of Bionix 1.9. I was thinking of doing an ODIN back to stock and then reinstalling Bionix just in case there was some remnants of a GPS fix left on the device but I figured that would have all gotten wiped by the Bionix install.

Same issue here. I flashed back to JFD via Odin and still had the issue. I then upgraded to JI6 without making any real changes and still have the issue. I've been on Frankin-Twiz, and Bionix 1.8 and 1.9.1 and hadn't ever seen any improvement.
I take that back. I installed GPSTest and ran through a procedure where I cleared 'GPS Aiding Data' (or a similar name) and was finally able to get a fix after sitting and waiting for 10 mins or so. Immediately following, I was able to use Navigation for the 1st time with this phone. Unfortunately, it didn't stick.
If I have 'Use Wireless Networks' enabled under 'Location and Security' and open G-Maps as I sit at my house, it can find my location based on my wireless network's SSID. If I drive away at that point, GPS is able to track my location and Navigation does work.
However, if I open G-Maps while I'm already on the road, it cannot get a fix. Or, rather, it can't get a fix in a reasonable amount of time. I don't consider 10 mins reasonable since anything I'm trying to do which is location-sensitive is usually more urgent than not.
In short, this sucks.
^ exactly the same.
Hi! I had Das Bamf 1.8 installed with the latest Froyo CDMA/LTE combo radio.
I was downloading an update to Google+ when all of a sudden the screen froze. I decided to pull the battery out and restart; surprisingly, 4G hasn't worked since then.
I went into the network settings to find one change that I've never seen before (at least I think): "Ciphering ON". I repeatedly tried to press Toggle Ciphering but it refused to go off.
With this, I thought that reinstallling the radio combo will somehow fix it; it didn't. I then decided to install the new Ginger radio (MR2.5) along with Bamf GingerREMIX 2.1; this didn't solve the problem as well.
Am I screwed in this case? Could it possibly be that the service is down temporarily in my area? I've googled around but there doesn't seem to be much documentation regarding to Ciphering...
Thanks!
Ok, we have numerous reports of GPS not holding lock after upgrading to Honeycomb.
This thread is for the purpose of identifying the resolution to this issue.
To begin with I'll start with asking for details from those of you who are encountering the issue and also those who are not.
What I want to know is, what software you were running and also exactly how you got to that version. For example ist is not sufficient to say you did my S-OFF upgrade, I also need to know the device (wifi or 3g) and version of the upgrade you used and whether you switched from a different version of the software to your current version.
For example, something like this:
Not Working: US Wifi Flyer, S-OFF, originally upgraded with the WIFI package built from 3.55.405.1 3G package, re-flashed with the US wifi OTA.
Casual observation seems indicate that it is all or mostly Wifi flyers that are affected.
Had trouble with my US Wifi Flyer, S-OFF, originally upgraded with the WIFI package built from 3.55.405.1. Updated that to us OTA package and still had trouble.
Started all over downgraded to GB then went straight to Globatron’s latest (the big file)
Working now

Thanks, this is consistent with my working assumption which is that it affects WIFI flyers that were flashed with the 3g ROM.
I have the US wifi flyer. S-Off, installed the 3.55.405.1 3G package followed by Leedroid rom. GPS was no good. Went back to the 3.55.405.1 3G package (from nandroid backup) and GPS no good.
Then installed the US WiFi rom. GPS is fine. Installed Leedroid and GPS is still fine.
hi globaltron,
US BB Wifi Flyer, S-OFF, originally upgraded with the HC WIFI package built from previous RUU_flyer_wifi_B10.zip, then installed LeeDrOiD HC V2.1.0 but GPS satellite lock wont stay on (dropping signal), tried all agps patches no go. Finally flashed new RUU_flyer_wifi_BBUS.B10.zip (2x) just to make sure over leedroid rom still the same results.
GPS Dropping
DEVICE: UK WIFI FLYER, 16GB
NOT WORKING: S-OFF, 3.55.401 - roms tried: LeeDroid, WestFire, Globatron's B09 (originally upgraded with the WIFI package built from 3.55.405.1 3G package)
NOT WORKING: S-OFF, 3.55.1114.31 - roms tried: HoneyPot, Globatron's B10
WORKING: S-ON, OTA 3.55.1114.31 (updated from Stock GB)
Also, worth noting that I (may) have experienced bluetooth problems. I use a OBD2 bluetooth adapter with my car and Torque App was having none of it with HC custom roms (including B09/B10). Basically, it connects to the OBD2 adapter, but but never negotiates the protocol. Works fine with GB and HC OTA. I could be alone on this since I don't trust the OBD2 adapter.
Navigation apps I use: CoPilot 8 & 9, Google Maps.

so, with S-ON no GPS issues good to know. I have been trying to find a fix with no avail. I'm S-OFF US HC wifi rom.
no, it's not hboot.
My observations using the GPS Status app.
DEVICE: US BB WIFI FLYER, 16GB
Working: GB stock rooted & GB Leedroid
NOT WORKING: S-OFF, 3.55.1114.31 All configurations below
1. Globatron's B09 (originally upgraded with the WIFI package built from 3.55.405.1 3G package).
2. Globatron's B10 Cross-grade from Globatron's B09 Wifi
3. Globatron's B10 full clean install of US Wifi RUU over Globatron's B09 Wifi .
Not tested : HC OTA update from GB
Setup: Turn off screen timeout. Open GPS status or another app that uses GPS that shows you status constantly.
Symptoms to watch for:
GPS turns on and locks quite fast, first time will stay locked for 30 - 60 secs. Then it loses lock and starts searching, Acquires lock again in a few seconds, then loses lock again after about 10 sec. repeats the loss of lock from this point acquiring and then losing lock every few seconds.
Tried clearing AGPS data and re-downloading, no help.
Referring to DigitalMD's post above
I have the BestBuy WiFi 16GB Flyer
I purshed it stock and took the OTA HC update.
Over the last two days I have since Rooted S-Off and am running Globatron's US Wifi RUU build.
Before I rooted my GPS did not maintain lock. It was symptomatic like your findings.
After I rooted and flashed HC, GPS was still symptomatic.
I have since edited the /system/etc/gps.conf folder.
The first string of text by default is:
NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org
I have changed it to read:
NTP_SERVER=us.pool.ntp.org
I used Root Explore and long pressed the gps.conf file and selected open in text editor. Make and save changes and reboot.
Having owned the HTC Thunderbolt, that device was plagued with similar GPS issues and this was a fix that was offered up in other threads here at XDA.

thanks, will try this now.....
Have you tried observing the actual status using a GPS status app? It may relock fast enough to satisfy some programs like Google maps and navigation even if it unlocks every few seconds.
Confirmed:
Monitored the GPS lock through the GPS Status App.
I have kept a solid lock status.
Theoretically that should not be enough to keep it locked , but might help achieve first lock faster. This is a strange problem so I don't know whats going on.
edited gps.config to NTP_SERVER=us.pool.ntp.org same results no go for me.
could it be a possible power saving related issue?
NOT WORKING:
1.Lee Droid
2. Globatron's B10 full clean install of US Wifi RUU over Lee Droid.
Not tested : HC OTA update from GB
Setup: Drive around with Flyer. It loses GPS consistantly every 1-2 minutes.
Symptoms to watch for:

Could someone try this for me … open the locations app and allow it to find you. Wait for the GPS icon, at the bottom to disappear, exit that app and open GPS Status … see if you maintain lock
A-GPS as cause?
Maybe I overlook it but what I see, is the problem a 3G ROM on a WiFi version. I am not an gps-expert but is this not normal because we have a A-GPS which is using also 3G and WiFi signals for a proper GPS signal?
I will check this theory and maybe it has nothing to do with the ROM-Version but with the build.prop and other specific GPS stuff which expect a proper 3G.
PS. And yes, I am no fan from removing some phone apps to have a WiFi-version. This is dirty and I am not sure but maybe this problem is the outcome.

As you said, A-GPS or Assisted GPS relies on a data connection to acquire some satellite information to make the lock faster. Therefore, it makes sense, if it was not as stable with out a 3G connection on the move.
But then again, whats confusing is that, it is stable on gingerbread, at least for me. but not on Honeycomb. i'm always tethered to my phone on the move, so A-GPS should work normally.
*EDIT: I forgot to mention, it happens on both the 3G HC ROM and WiFi HC ROM.
I am using the VZW GS4, MDK bootloader, Danvdh's GPE rom. Our company has just merged with another that has a number of security requirements for corporate email accounts. One of them is requiring encryption and another is the use of a PIN or password.
In trying to set my phone up today, I could not get encryption set up nor was I able to sync my corporate email account.
What's the consensus on this? Phone is rooted, running a custom rom. Our old exchange server worked quite nicely with this phone. But with the increased security requirements, I am just wondering if I am going to have to go back to stock & unrooted.
Update: after I got home last night, I tried it again and this time it worked. It could have been the server having issues.
