So I was trying to update the facebook app today and it wouldn't let me. I figured if I uninstalled the existing one, it would update properly. However, when going to uninstall it, I get an "uninstall not successful" message. How do I get around this?
I am rooted running superclean 2.9.1 voodoo.
Try uninstalling with TiBU.

Just tried that. Now I can't install the new version (1.5.2), nor will it let me install an apk I downloaded of the old version (1.5.1).
Hrm... are all the files gone? Check with RE. Then reboot.
Warning: I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Are you using a theme that includes a themed Facebook app? If so, that could be causing trouble with updating it, and if it's in the system app folder, that would prevent it from being uninstalled properly. Just a thought.

What is RE? I did a CWM backup right before I deleted 1.5.1 with TiBu, so I used that as a restore. Still the same problems though.

I am using a custom theme (touch of blue), but I do not believe that it has themed the facebook app. In addition, I know the facebook app has updated itself in the past without issue, while I've been running this theme.

Have anyone put Bionix-v 1.3.1 rom on there Telus Fascinates? I'm new to all this and don't want to brick my phone. So far Ive rooted it and installed Supercurio's Stock+Voodoo kernel. Ive seen that if there is any bootloader in the rom it will brick. Is there any in this rom?
Thanks
Put this in Captivate, you may get more answers.

this might help actually.
read carefully about sbl.bin & family (!) if you don't want to brick your phone
Hey.
I thought i could offer some insight, even though i'm pretty new to the scene myself.
I had flashed bionix 1.3.1 onto my telus fascinate as well, and it did not have a bootloader. You might want o to follow the link v260 posted and double check the zip file.
I did not keep it for too long since as i read elsewhere on the forums, bionix did not give me a working gps. I'm not sure if others experienced it, but i also noticed a bit of battery drain (with and without voodoo enabled).
I know, using the hidden menu, you can remove the lock screen. Problem is, this removes the power button menu. Is it possible to remove the lock screen without that latter issue?

do you remember what the code was for removing the lock screen? thanks!
If I go from EB01 SC2.9 voodoo to DJ05 v0.9 voodoo do I have to disable voodoo before installing the DJ05 rom? The rom doesn't have nonvoodoo and voodoo versions. I am doing this because I want to test the voodoo sound and color fix and just recently switched over to voodoo on EB01 where that isn't currently possible.
I am no expert.. But with the different clockwork mods and all that come with froyo, it may be easier to odin di01 full stock and move up from there.. And this rom and sound/color fix are amazing.

It worked but Voodoo Control is telling me that my kernel doesn't support extended sound controls. I've installed 2 different Voodoo5 Roms and it's still not working.

You must find and use voodoo 5.. I can search it up for you when I get home in 5 hours if you can't find it.

I was running NitroVivid on EC01 without a problem. Don't know if they all work, but I also saw someone say they were running NitroDark.

hmm I'll back up first and try flashing the EB01 minimalist theme. thanks
Why not ask the author of the particular theme you want to flash?
I was running honeycomb no problem
I downgraded and then upgraded and loaded the debinged and debloated rom for edo1. I am ready to customize my fascinate and noticed there was no mention of anyone trying to use the ec01 themes and kernels. I figured there wouldn't be much of an issue, but I figure better safe than sorry.

I flashed Touch of Blur over debloated ED01 with no issues. I believe the framework is identical.
I saw adrynalyne make a comment that he compared each version and found a lot of differences between ec01 and ed01 frameworks and apps. So use caution with using an older theme you might just end up undoing ed01 with a theme of old frameworks.
good day.
