I am trying to connect my phone by USB to my PC, and it will not connect. I click Disable USB Debugging and it sits there on a screen and says:
Reset Phone
Connecting packet service...
Resource:
When I touch the Resource: button, nothing happens.
Help!!!
Are you trying to transfer files? If so, you need to click the "Mount" option, not the disable debugging option.

But I want to solve this problem, may I ask why the transmission of information using usb debugging mode will re-boot
I'm trying to use AppInventor, which wants me to use the debugging mode of the device.
When enabling it and plugging to the computer, it only notifies that the USB is connected, and doesn't say anything about debug mode.
This cause AppInventor to not recognize the device.
In "Device Manager" (WIN XP) everything is good and the phone is recognized.
any suggestions?

Hi.
Just bought Galaxy Ace for my daughter and faced with the same problem. it's at official 2.3.3 firmware, and each time i connect it to PC via USB - it enables the USB debugging. I tried disabling it in Settings->Application->Development when phone is disconnected - no luck.
Strange, but i don't see a "USB connection" option in Settings->Wireless and networks... it's there on my Galaxy S thou... May it be an issue with Ace's official firmware?
Update: flashed VillainROM-1.0 and still having same problem.

There's only a "USB Debugging" option, which, being disabled, gets automatically enabled again each time i connect the phone to a USB cable.
So what is the problem if it's enable? And Ace don't have "USB connection" option in Settings
Sorry, I thought it's obvious: with USB debugging always enabled - I've no possibility to connect the phone to PC as a disk storage or to connect it to Kies/PC_Suite
learn to know your phone

NO, is not obvious. USB debuggins doesn't botter your usb connection at all since you hace to activate the disk storage after you connect your SGA. Look on status, there's a message that tells you that you have to click there to activate mass storage. And on the other hand, KIES recognizes SGA after a few minutes, just wait a little longer.
i have the same problem. mass storage only works if you have the samsung drivers installed. if you connect the phone to a different PC that dosent have the samsung drivers it will not recognize it. if you disable Debugging so that the computer would detect it as a mass storage, once you connect it, it automatically enables debugging again. if you disable it while connected, it goes back on automatically.
i'm running 2.2.6 but i've always had this problem since 2.2
using windows 7
anyone can help?
USB mass storage worked fine for me on multiple computers without the drivers installed and with debugging on. There is no reason why either of those things would influence your connection. The problem is far more likely to be with either your computers settings or your usb hardware.
i tried on a few different computers, same problem. i guess i'm stuck :/
thanks anyway

my SGS2 isn't recognized on my mac ! , I was trying to get photos into kies or into iphoto and I can't find the SGS2
did you turn on usb debugging? settings>applications>development
if its on, when you plug you phone in, you must swipe down the status panel, and select 'USB Connected', then touch the 'connect USB storage' button
if its off, your phone should be detected automatically
