Hey all I am currently running
Code:
Dell streak
Ver: 2.2
Build Nuber: StreakDroid 1.8.1
Baseband Ver: GAUSB1A131800-EU
Kernel Ver: 2.6.32.9-DJ_Steve-BFS-CFQ-KGSL2D-Vol-OC
Live in Australia and got my phone from Optus... absolutley loving Dj_Steve's builds but have developed a mass amount of dead pixels on the screen, am able to ship it back for warranty but want to flash back to stock first, if anyone could point me in the right direction of what to do (yes ive searched etc. first) would be much appreciated.
I'm not a complete n00b but a step by step would be handy
Thanks in advance!
look at the forums on modaco. There is a post about upgrading and downgrading the streak that tells you how to get back to stock.
Basically just get the stock recovery flashed then flash update.zip based on that version of the Stock recovery.
Dell Streak powered by Streakdroid 1.9.0b5
actually just saw that same guide in the development forum here on xda.

Hi
I saw many links for HTC Hero G2 to upgrade it to Android 2.2 Froyo. Which one is the best to use?
I tried to do as said, but for some reason my phone is not booting into recovery mode and gives a triangle with exclamation mark.
Please guide me through the best Froyo setup link and steps to fix my HTC issue.
Details:
Current Firmware Version: 2.1-update1

Hi.
If you go to http://www.villainrom.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=110&t=2096, it details the process required to root the 2.1 ROM you have installed. It will also flash a new recovery image that gets rid of the exclamation point.
When asked to pick a zip file, use one of the ones mentioned in the post, or whatever you want as update.zip. Pick the 2.2 Froyo vanilla one if you're wanting android 2.2.
Despite all the excellent work by Steve & the other boffins here in this forum, I continued to experience instability (a few random resets & freezes daily) on 1.5.x
I guess stability is more important than flexibility for me atm, so I'm thinking to install the official Dell 2.2 as I hope it will put an end to my woes.
Grateful if somebody could please advise me the procedure to go about the downgrade and where to find the official 2.2 package I will need. Do I have to downgrade my BB too? If so to what version?
(I originally went from stock O2 1.6 to 2.1 then to 1.5.1)
Thanks for your input.
Current status: O2 unlocked Streak running DJ_Steves V 1.5.3, baseband GAUSB1A131800-EU
Flash stock recovery then upadte stock 318

Just to ensure I understand correctly, borijess, you saying I should flash this first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840326
.....which will then enable me to go straight from where I am now to 318 ?
Edit: Nevermind, after some intense googling I found a step-by-step guide of exactly what I'm after right here: http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=8285.
Thanks again borijess for having pointed me in the right direction - I wouldn't have known what to search for.

ok.... soo lemme start my saying this, I am a total noob when it comes to android let alone the dell streak.
I got a second hand dell streak from ebay, unlocked running froyo 2.2, when i turn it on an O2 logo shows up.
Now with that said... i think my dell streak was an American version, when i put the service tag in the dell website it said USA.
now i dont know anything else about the device.
now i went to the settings got this information from there:
Baseband Version: GAUSB1A131921-US
Kernal Version: 2.6.32.9-pref
Build Number: 12792
I did run a Quadrant Test and got:
865
i am was happy with my streak until i saw some of the other result people were getting with the same phone.
What can i do to make this better?
i hear alot of stuff about DJ Steve and streakdroid, and from what i understand they are versions of the android 2.2, which one is best?
how do i install it on my phone?
can someone help??
there are whole threads about this in this section. There is only one guy making roms, so basicaly your choice is an official 1.6/2.1/2.2 rom or dj Steves Froyo 1.6 (installorama).
No one can tell you whats best for you, have a read and make up your own mind.

Start reading here, here and here
Basically you need the Dell drivers, the Dell PC Suite, find the fastboot driver pack. Become familiar with using fastboot, which is easy anyway, then download the rom you want to flash and its recovery package using the wiki link, flash and factory reset and your all sorted.
On a sidenote, Stage UI is not that good, not compared to other homescreen/launchers out there, check out ADW Launcher and ADW Launcher EX for example, they are much nicer. There is also StreakDroid 1.9.1 and SimpleStreak 1.2 roms which are very nice releases, these are rooted and allow overclocking, depending on what kernel you use for SimpleStreak.
Good luck
