Help..!!
Just deleted some old folders that I had in the phone storage & moved all the pics to the SD card, now I cannot access the internal storage and get "Damaged Internal Phone storage"? Was connected on "USB Mass Storage" on an Ubuntu pc if that makes any difference.
All apps that were saved to SD are of course gone..
Any clue?
Edit: Titanium Backup made a back-up this morning, will I be able to re-install all the apps if I format the internal storage? Do I want to format the internal storage?
Edit 2: Titanium backup is gone too..
Edit 3: Internal Phone Storage is unmounted, phone cannot mount it.
Do I just format the damn thing, is it defect..?

Before when I move the installed apps using ap2sd or appmonster by default it used to move to the internal USB Storage(11GB) of Galaxy S2. I recently did a wipe re-flash of ROM and after that when I move the installed apps- by default its going to the external SD card I have installed which is 8GB. Now the internal storage is not used at all. Is there anyway I can fix this issue without going for another reflash? Any help is highly appreciated!

Goto Setting > Manage Applications > On SD Card Tab >Select the application you want to move and then move it to phone Internal Memory.
Hope this helps!

Nope it doesn't... That's exactly what the problem is... Unable to move apps to the internal USB (SD) memory... It looks for an external SD card instead and gives an error...

I think I'm having the same problem.
Only noticed it this morning when I tried to download a new app (existing update fine) and it failed, stating that it was unable to save to USB storage. I also can't mount USB storage in CWM recovery mode.
Did you or anyone else find a solution?
Well it appears that my internal storage is knackered.
Booted into CWM and tried to 'mount USB storage', but am greeted with 'E:Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory).
If factory reset and flashing a stock ROM is necessary, then I can do that. But, if the storage is inaccessible, am I even able to do that? Would opting to 'Erase USB Storage' in the settings>storage menu be of any use?
sameproblem here...
ok i solved the problem...

I had something similar when I installed a ROM with an older CWM. I lost my SD card but could access it from the PC. I copied a backup over to the internal memory and recovered.
how about just unmount the external SD card then try to install again?
Unable to move apps to internal usb storage
I am also facing the same issue.Somebody plz let me know any workaround for moving apps to Internal USB storage. Under settings>application manager> there is an option to move apps to external sd card only. Is it possible to install/move apps to internal usb storage (around 11.5 GB). Please help.
Phone - Galaxy s2 (At&t sgh i777)
ROM - Shostock3 rom (android 4.1.2)
I have mounted an external sd card and using link2sd to move apps to it. One thing I noticed that with sd card mounted, when I move apps to external sd card, some part of the app moves to the usb storage and also the app size increases after doing so. However, still there is no direct way of moving/installing apps to usb storage without an external sd card.

Ok so I have downloaded a few files onto my phone. However, when I go to access them from my laptop via mass storage they do not appear. I was wondering if this is because the phone is automatically saving stuff to the internal storage or if it is because I have multiple SD partitions from multiple other Android phones.
If it is because the files are being saved to internal storage how can I change that to have them automatically saved to my SD? If it is an issue with multiple SD partitions should I just wipe my card and repartition specifically for this phone?
Thank you in advance!
Well if you notice most of the legacy and current apps when they try to store something to anywhere else other than the internal memory it would always look for the /sdcard/ location which in our case is the internal memory.
Our micro sdcard is now mounted in /sdcard/ext_sd/ which makes it a chore for us to keep tabs on what we want stored there because we have to move it manually.

When I browse my files using ES File explorer I see 2 folders. One is labeled SDCard and one is labeled SDCard2. Is the first one my internal memory? If so, is there any way to automate the transfer of files from the first folder to the second one so that I can see them via mass storage? If not then I may have to write a script to do such a thing. Because that is annoying as hell.

I just upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, after using my old Xperia for 2 years. I love the phone apart from one really annoying problem and that's the phone seems to be confused between its USB Storage and SD card.
The USB storage is 1.10 GB and seems to be the default partition for large app data that you have to download like maps for gps and game files for hd games, so it runs out very quickly.
It is located at /sdcard
I have a 32GB SD card, where I ideally want this application data to live so I can have more apps.
It is located at /sdcard/external_sd.
I tried editing vold.fstab to swap internal/external sds to no avail and had to restore the original.
Task Manager > Storage is showing my storage information correctly but apps such as App to SD are treating my USB storage like my SD card. When these apps download their additional data it goes to my USB storage. In the applications menu "On SD Card" displays apps on my USB storage.
I'm looking for either:
A way to move the apps and appdata from USB storage to my SD card. I know this can be done in a file manger but then the apps wont be able to find their data.
A way for these apps to save additional data to my SD Card NOT my USB storage.
A way to get the phone to realise my USB storage is NOT my SD Card.
A way to completely disable USB storage and use my SD card as its primary storage function.
A working vold.fstab modification for the Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-i8160
Many thanks
I'm actually trying to find a way to get my games to install their data on my external SD card. The USB storage is actually an internal SD card inside your phone so its not actually getting confused. The only way for apps to save their data to your external SD card is for the developer to make it an option in the ROM. There's a mod for Gameloft games that allows it to install its data onto your external SD card if that helps. Just Google it.

Hi, I'm using a n7000 Slimkat 4.4.4 rom, with slim kernel 3.0.80+ autobuild.
Previously I used link2sd to create a partition on my SD card to get more space on my internal, and after a while I realised my USB storage is being recognised as an SD card. I tried a full wipe and reinstalled my rom but now even the internal storage is messed up. Not even the reformat works anymore
It's too complicated to explain in words so here are the screenshots. So how f**ked am I and how do I salvage this?
Each time I link files into the card (700mb size, it worked previously) it freezes the whole phone
From the storage option I can see this:
1. Internal storage 2GB (normal, nothing wrong with it)
2. Internal storage 11GB (this should be USB storage, and it has a erase SD card option at the end)
3. SD card 2GB (It was 4GB but I used link2sd to create an internal partition. MTP and mass storage is not detected but using card reader it is fine)
4. USB storage (there is only a mount and erase SD card option which is greyed out/unclickable and does not has any space indicator)

there is nothing wrong at all.
just repartition and reformat your sdcard and dont use external sdcards for app storage.

But what about the greyed out USB storage option? I don't remember seeing it in that way

it should be grayed unless you connect usb storage to your phone.
I just installed Titanium Backup in my device with Lineage OS 14. But initially I was not able to set the storage path to my external SD card. I was doing this because my phone is always low in internal storage. By using Filesystem storage option, when I reached the external SD card it said that "This folder is not writable." Filesystem Storage - media option only showed the internal storage. Also whenever I clicked on the DocumentProvider Storage, I got this: https://imgur.com/a/pCJ8I
Then I made a small backup and copied that to a folder in external SD card so that the Detect option can automatically get this location. But then I am getting this: https://imgur.com/a/T1iMI and when I try to make a backup I get "Insufficient storage" error.
What should I do?
