Please find below an update.zip containing a stock DI01 system with root and busybox. Stick it somewhere on your sdcard and flash with clockwork recovery. Now you can bring your phone back to stock without having to use Odin.
The system update will NOT flash your radio. I've replaced the radio attachment, it should work now.
This update does not remove any bloatware. It should leave you at a complete stock DI01 system with root and busybox. It will completely reformat /system, so it will work regardless of changes you may have made to your phone.
I've also attached a few apps built from aosp with a few mods. Included are the DeskClock, Gallery3D, Mms and Music apps. They will REPLACE your existing versions so back sure you have a backup in case blah blah.. The Music app is forked from Eliot Stocker's music mod (CM), and the Gallery3D app is forked from code aurora forum. DeskClock and Mms apps are forked from aosp with a few slight mods (black background in mms, etc).
DO NOT put this on your sdcard as /sdcard/update.zip. That's where clockworkmod lives.
stock DI01 system update
Thanks man working on flashing it now!

This meant to be flashed on a completely stock system. If you have trouble with missing apps or signatures, then flash back to stock using the odin file here.
This update will NOT flash your radio. If you applied the previous fix I posted that included the radio update, you will need to put a stock DH12 build.prop back into /system or the attached update will FAIL.

EDIT: also attached is the radio update for those who may need it.

i think the radio update you attached has something wrong with it.
so where do we save it? also is this zip already rooted? or will I lose root access?

Doesn't matter, just use the "choose zip file" option in CWM recovery. Original post says it has root and busy box so I'm sure you're safe.
I'm having errors trying to get clockworkrecovery to work

Did you have it working before? Like were you able to make and restore backups?
mine just gets stuck after it reboots into recovery and says it's installing the update but then nothing happens.

Seems like flashing /system might be a good idea for anyone unsure of the status of their renames/deletes regarding the bloatware; after that, seems like it'd be easier to hit the OTA without any worries.
Apologize for being dense and perpetutating "confusion" as you describe in an earlier post, BUT the Q: If I (being rooted and having removed bloatware, etc.) installed your patch from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789823, is it at all beneficial to revert back to stock and install the zip from this thread? Thanks.
Thank you.
I restored all the removed apps, installed the updates, and after reboot removed the crapware again.
Worked perfectly.
question about included apps
I was very excited to see the changed desk clock and music app. So I installed them, and all the of them worked except the desk clock. I tried it again, and still the same samsung desk clock. Is there another way to install that? I really want the old style desk clock. Thanks!
Just pull the deskclock.apk from the zip and put it in /system/app

Those of you who need to restore the stock image, but don't want to do it using Odin, there is a stock Nandroid image available here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789868. I flashed that with Rom Manager and then installed the update file, also with Rom Manager, in the op of this thread.
Does this update fix the signal loss notification?
Couldn't tell you, I haven't experienced it.

Changed? What's different?
I ran the update to DI01 and everything it working well. I see the note that in order to upgrade the radio I must have the DH12 buildprop file... Can I still do the radio upgrade if I have already updated to DI01?
Thanks in advance for anyone willing to either help me or point me in the right direction.
I stupidly deleted the stock mms app. Never used it so I figured it would be alright. Nope. It was only when I noticed that I was unable to send mms messages and I was getting double txt messages in GoSMSPro that I knew I had an issue. I've since learned I shouldn't have deleted stock. Whoops. I've tried reading, tried reflashing roms, reinstalling another stock MMS app. None seems to eliminate my issue. When I reflashed Bionix the problem goes away but after restoring my data the stock mms is still gone and problem is back. I'm under the impression to restore all I need I need to restore data from my latest backup after flashing, and I can't quite seem to find the right stock mms app or I'm either not installing it correctly. I've had my Vibrant for about 4 months, so I'm no expert at this point, and why I'm asking for help. Anyone?
Have you tried finding the stock mms.apk file?
EDIT: I got it, pm me if you want it
Yes, I just downloaded what I thought was the stock mms.apk (stock-jpy-mms.zip) and flashed it. It seemed to install correctly, but when I got a txt its showing up there double and in GoSMSPro double as well. It's not the same green messaging icon as the stock I remember so I'm thinking it might not be the right one? I'm at a loss here. Any ideas?
any luck with the apk?
You need to put the stock mms.apk in the system/app folder and in go sms in the settings under important tips make sure the box for stock sms unistalled is not checked

Put mms.apk onto my external SD. Moved it to system/app but it wont install. Rebooted...doesn't show. It's in the folder but won't work. What the hell is going on? Tried APK Manager but it doesn't even show up there. Thanks for the help so far...looks like I need more.
You might have done it already and it might not matter but did you change the permissions when you moved it to system/app?
Did anyone back these up? Or have a link to a Rom backup I can pull them from?
I used one of the theme sets (settings/systemui/framwork-res) to customise a bit, but I preferred the original colourful Settings.apk and I stupidly forgot to take a backup.
Anyone have a file kicking about?
I downloaded matted blue theme earlier today and installed. I didn't like it. So after that I downloaded and installed the steel blue theme which I don't even know if that one is working right because the icons aren't different. Anyways I downloaded and installed the theme and didn't uninstall the matted blue theme because I wasn't sure how to.....now my Gmail wont load it keeps force closing and for some reason there is 2 text message apps that neither can't be uninstalled and I am getting double the texts at once....does anyone have any ideas to help please. I tried going into the removable drive via USB to computer and just deleting the folder that in boot menu I tried to update.zip and it said it was looking for drive e: and couldn't find anything....I am lost and fairly annoyed please help.
Deders *****es!!!!!!!
Why dont you reflash a SBF?
Use the un-theme CWM (found in the apps theme forum) zip. Or the deodexed CWM zip (found in the Dev forum). Some themes, such as MattedBlues, include themed apps, which won't be overwritten if the new theme doesn't include them. A tip to theme users: always check whats included inside the zip and backup your files. I personally did a complete backup after deodexing and before installing any themes so I'll never have to reflash an sbf.
I hate to say this but I don't know how to do that
Did a back up earlier today and am running it now well see what happens
im running back up now, can I ask you how to do that?
I hate to say this but even if you can swim you should first test the water.
I assume you know how to use the CWM zips since you've already flashed themes. I also assume you are deodexed since those themes applied correctly.
The deodex zip is the same as GladiAtrix or GingerBlur only minus the themes, they both convert an odex system to a deodex system.
Flashing the deodexed CWM will return you to a "fresh" system. The un-theme CWM is the same thing but it only resores the files themers go after. I would first try the un-theme CWM as the full deodex CWM may cause a few easily recoverable issues, such as unroot.
So my suggestion is flash this CWM first to return you to "stock". Then flash the theme of your choosing.
Good luck.
Hey thank you so much I did a restore, for a lil bit there I wasn't able to get into the boot loader. I appreciate it alot though I prolly will use that theme unloader quite a bit
ouch dude this was A VERY EASY FIX... all you had to do was go to manage apps click on gmail and clear data that fixes gmail. then just use titanium backup and uninstall one of the messaging apps(i specifically uninstalled "messaging 2.2.1")...
P.S. Nottach maybe you can add this bit of info in your post for the theme
Thnx a lot that was a huge help. I just got done backing everything up with TB....that really is a awesome app. And for the thread post idea thank you twice sir. May I ask what u replaced your messaging app. With ? And you didn't cause any instability in ur system hy deleting that message 2.2.1.? Since I'm guessing you removed the one that came with the rom. Thnx again.
Deders *****es!!!!!!!
I've had no preblems or instability issues since you're still left with a messaging app
Oh, well since I did a restore on my phone I have only the one message app. 2.2.1. Crazy stuff for real
Deders *****es!!!!!!!
So to clarify, the un theme cwm will work with the 2.1.1 ?

Hello All,
I have galaxy ace duos and accidentally deleted stock messaging app, used for a while handcent sms and go sms pro, but for ten days I can't send a single message with this two applications. I can receive sms though.
Can someone help me to bring back stock message app because that one always worked smoothly.. Gingerbread 2.3.6 is the version off course.
Thanks in advance.

You are rooted right? Then don't you have Titanium Backup installed? Would've been a walk in the park with it. Otherwise look through the forums of the device for it. If nothing else works you will have to factory reset. But it would probably be better to try clearing data of go sms and handcent sms first. maybe that will get them to work.
1. Follow this YouTube video.
2. If you're not from India, download the package corresponding to your region from this link and flash via ODIN - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832071
3. You will lose all your data as you are reverting to stock, so make proper backups of everything important.
Thank you both for your replies.
I've cleared data for handcent and go sms apps but it didn't help.
I've already done factory reset but mms.apk wasn't in system/app folder, so I took one from galaxy ace and put it into my phone, permissions set to rw-r-r, but there is no messaging app where it should be.
Any more suggestions?
anyone, please?
I knew that won't work for you because you might put an incompatible Mms.apk. That's why I pointed you to restore to stock. I first tried finding CWM flashable zips of the stock ROM to get the apk for you but I couldn't find them easily. I don't think you've put the right apk in, that's why it's not showing. If it is the right apk but still not showing, you probably need to run 'fix permissions' in CWM recovery, which I don't think you have installed on your phone (according to your post, you've only rooted your phone and nothing else).
Read my previous post. I mentioned that the method I linked to is different from factory restore. You deleted the apk from the /system partition. If you factory restore, only the /data partition is wiped and /system stays intact. So even then, the apk will be missing. Follow the links I posted. Restoring to stock via ODIN is different from factory restore as ODIN first fully wipes all partitions of your device and then flashes the downloaded stock ROM image onto it. In this way, a full image of the /system partition is freshly restored, and includes the messaging apk. You see how it's different from simply doing factory reset on the phone?
I've returned a stock messaging app by flashing stock rom but all data is intact, so i have both, stock messaging app and all applications which i installed before flashing.
So it's all good now then? Cool. The stock ROM you downloaded doesn't wipe data, that's why all your apps are intact. From what I have seen, there are stock images for your phone which wipe data and ones which don't.

Yeah, thank you for your help again. I have all data, everything works fine, except handcent sms and go sms, but I will use stock msg app from now on.
