Wrong place to post this. This belongs in Q&A section....
Again should be in Q&A.
This is for ATT but you can get a general idea. If you download a 3rd party launcher and correctly freeze motoblur you can get what you are looking for.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=972459
What I was really hoping for is a striped down ROM instead of freezing the features.

No ROMs for this phone due to a locked bootloader. We have a pseudo ROM - Gingerblur.

At the moment the freezing method is the only option for the Bell Atrix.
Here's a link to Bell specific things you can safely freeze http://canadroid.com/2011/03/20/removing-moto-blur-from-your-bell-motorola-atrix/
Moved as not android development
Thats what I was looking at unfortunately everyone who had tried had bricked the phone.
is anyone aware if freezing these apps gets the email client back to regular android?
If you brick it you can ever reflash a stock SBF simply rebooting it in BL Mode (RSD Downloader), using your PC, a brain, an usb cable and RSD Lite...
...and an Atrix SBF, of course.

Except that we don't have a Bell SBF at the moment
it's pretty funny people telling him to read/flash gingerblur or use a stock .sbf
too bad almost none of the developments made so far regarding bloat apply to bell
freezing manually is really a bell user's only option ATM.
I have manually gone through and frozen most of the bell preloaded stuff but the big thing I want off is the Motorola email client and back up services.

No 3rd party. I am using the Gmail app. I did however also test the Corporate Sync and it still worked fine.
So I froze the email 2.2 application and when I open any of my email accounts it just closes and takes me back to the home screen.

Not really the best solution but install the webtop hack lol. I have the webtop hack installed and I haven't gotten a single notice after being accepted into the beta program. Also if I go to software update in the system settings I get an error so it seems webtop hack blocks this crap.

The webtop is a seperate addon hack that Ken added into the gingerblur script as an addon for Beta 7.7 (which is what I'm on). To me it's worth having this hack anyways as it saves you the cost of the laptop dock or the multimedia dock and it has prevented me from even being able to be told that there is an OTA for my device.

I have read through posts on this and MANY other forums regarding rooting my TB. The one concern I haven't gotten a SOLID answer on is what EXACTLY I will lose from my current stock TB. What I need to understand is what to backup before hand with the understanding that I am not rooted so backing up anything is limited.
Do I need to backup my contacts? Ringtones? Purchased apps? Emails? Pictures?
Will my purchased apps still be "purchased" and I just redownload?
Once I have completed the root process as described in:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996616
Is there a ROM that is basically the stock Thunderbolt with the BLOATware removed?
If this is some highly redundant question and I have been too stupid to find the answer, please feel free to slap me.
Thanks for answers or derision,

There are quite a few ROMS that are basically stock just with the bloatware removed. Most of them will say stock. Contacts are for the most part anymore backed up on the Google servers if you are signed up. If you have contacts stored on your phone save them anyway to be safe. Pictures are stored on your SD card by default so if you have one they should be good. Emails are stored over the server and will come back when you log.in. Purchased apps will always show as purchased in the market. Just need to redownload. You are going to gain a lot of speed and memory from removing the bloated stock Rom. Usually fixes random freezing and reboots also.

Seriously though. After you root, make a stock backup in Clockwork recovery. Ringtones, pics, etc are all on your SD Card so you don't need yo worry about them. And as long as you ONLY use a debloated stock ROM with VW framework your purchased apps will be available for redownload.

I can download anything I have already purchased on any Rom, Das Bamf, tesla coil, CM7. I can even download my Droid X apps if I install the X market on my phone. The market you have installed is for a particular phone and only apps for that phone or universal apps will show up, if its not letting you download an app you bought on your TB then you have the wrong market, I didn't have that problem with tesla coil though. I WOULD ASSUME that the amazon appstore would still working (a plus) - and a downside - I would lose root. IF I didnt' have any other mods running on my phone, and was using SU for titanium backup, reboot, MyBackup, etc. the update should install safely, but would kill root.
ASSUMING that I did that, would I have foobar'd myself... and root will be attainable again.

I haven't ventured into the realm of custom ROMs yet. Definitely an area that I want to get into (I was an avid blackberry beta tester before I jumped ship).
Can you answer a few questions perhaps?
1. Will flashing a new ROM cause me to lose all my user data?
2. What ROM do you recommend? I actually like the look of the stock .91 ROM, and I use ADW Launcher. I'm not really into the CG7 look with everything being bluish. I guess with ROMs, I just don't have a good enough understanding.
For the first question, yes you will lose stock data. But if you have gmail, contacts, paid apps, and calendar will be saved. But its totally worth it. The rom I recommend right now is the ALIEN ROM. Which is a nice one. If you want to to start, let me know and I will give you a guide that helped me.

I ended up freezing the default voice command feature in TiBu, and don't have to worry about it anymore...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186537
Here is the alien ROM LINK
Sorry for the late response.
Ok! Well, all that was easier than I thought. This is amazingly fast. So far I haven't found any glitches, everything works the same for me. I've rebooted several times and the home button hasn't reset, so thats a good sign.
One thing I did notice is that I now only have one APN listed, and I think before I had several.
I didn't install the bloatware, but BLUR seems to work fine.
One thing I will say is that installing 200 apps by hand from the market SUCKED. I used a Titanium Backup and then used the market link from there.
Also thought that I should mention that this did *NOT* fix my "double tap" home button issue.
After some amount of time the home button defaults to voice commands, which is useless to me. Taking another suggestion above and freezing the app with TiBackupPro.
Oh well. Maybe Beta #4 will fix the issue.

I would call again. Ask to speak to a "real" tech. There are more experienced technicians who can help you once you get through the initial screening made by the customer service representatives. I remember reading on another thread that someone called and they immediately pushed the update out to the phone.
Good luck!
