Are you able to keep the webtop mod, if you keep the root with the OTA update?

Installed the new OTA update on my phone without really thinking and i'm now wondering if it's still possible to root my phone and install a custom rom.

Just thought I should mention that the update I have is NOT the 2.1 update.
I have recently learned that after updating to 1.8.3 that any of the webtop hacks do not work. Im just curious are any of the devs trying to create a new one at this time for the update thank you.
I have a Bell Moto Atrix that I updated OTA to Android 2.2.2/37.23 Firmware and rooted with GingerBreak 1.2.
I am just wanting to know if you can use the method below to get the Webtop via HDMI again.

Hi,
The framework for the OTA update is the same as stock, so any app or framework mods for one should work for the other.

So I just got an X2. I want to root it and make it a permanent root on stock, and still be able to OTA without any problems. Is this possible? CDMA 2.3.4. Thanks guys.

VooDoo root keeper is all "spelled" out here.
So I'm currently running Eclipse on my Maxx, can I recieve the OTA to ICS like this or do I need to use Matt's utility(or something similiar) to revert to stock than get the update?
