Sorry for my English but I'm using a translator
superoneclick doesn't work on 4.1.57, and if you had root before the update you will not have it afterwards unless you followed this steps beforehand:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013931
You should also not use SuperOneClick if you use the SBF to get back to 4.1.26
You should use aRoot. It's very simple and will work over SuperOneClick.
Sorry if I sound like a **** but that is not a dev question....and you could of read a few of the threads to see why it wouldn't work
Not dev, moved to a proper forum

Hey guys!
I'm completely new to android (Finally jumped on board the smartphone boat!), however I have a pretty knowledgeable background in programming (web developer by trade)
I was just curious what goes into a ROM that allows ADBD to run as root on the phone so that when I do "adb shell" I'm logged in as root. I noticed that when I first installed the superuser binary on my phones stock ROM just after S-OFFing that when I opend up a shell through adb I still had to su to root.
Is the change part of the kernel? Or is it a setting in the ROM?
This isn't a problem I'm having, just curious what has to be done to a stock ROM for ADBD to run as root, looking to get into ROM customization pretty soon =)
Hi guys! I've been researching on how to root and flash my device for a long time now, but it seems that every forum/sites I go through only confuses me all the more, I am a GT-p1010 user from the philippines with a 2.2.1 firware, kerenel 2.6.32.9 and nuildnumber FROYO.DXKC2, I've tried to download z4root but everytime I install it my antivirus goes off and uninstalls it for me, I also tried the superoneclick and this is what it said

You must root your tab. The following is the easiest guide:
http://androidadvices.com/how-to-update-samsung-galaxy-tab-wifi-p1010-to-xwkc1-froyo-2-2-1-firmware/
Follow instructions carefully on how to Odin.
thanx bro, but I'm afraid to flash my tab, since this is my first tab and my first time to flash or root anything, I might brick my tab...
Hey guys. I was on CM7, but I started getting some major issues so I successfully SBF'd to get back to 2.3.4, then applied to the 2.3.5 (412) bla bla, yea, you know. So after that flashed, I attempted to root with zergRush and it wouldn't work. It would show error, then something like "pushing busybox successful" then more errors, but all the pushes were successful. My phone didn't reboot or anything even after 10 minutes of waiting. So I did a battery pull, rebooted, busybox app said I didn't have root, THEN, I rebooted normally, and the busybox app said I didn't have root either nor did I have the superuser app that I am supposed to after a successful attempt. Any ideas as to why this isn't working? Any advice? Thanks!
I can never get ZR to work on my laptop w/W7. Go to my signature link and in the middle of post 3 I have more on VooDoo Root Keeper.
I'm assuming I have to downgrade to 2.3.4, root, then install the voodoo thing to protect root then go back to 2.3.5?
Right sbf . Pete's etc.
Please help me out. I have followed the rooting guide 'Method one' instructions exactly as given. Only I get stuck at the SuperOneClick part. I get failed at Getting mount path...
After getting error I see two new apps installed
CWM and SuperSU
I don't see busybox anywhere as mentioned in the guide
Thanks in advance

That said on checking with Root Checker app by joeykrim it shows I have root access.
I haven't done the part after SuperOneclick where I have to install stock kernel.
Someone please tell me soon what to do next cause I'm just stuck here scared to go ahead and use my phone. I've still put it on flight mode for past almost 2 hours
bump
use cfroot or the root/unroot without insecure kernel for ICS. superone click wont work.
I'm trying to root my T-Mobile MyTouch Q and not having any luck. It's Android 2.3.6, but I tried running "echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf" and I get a permission denied error. I tried SuperOneClick version 2.2 and 2.3.3. SuperOneClick gets to step 7 than hangs and nothing happens. It says waiting for device. I also tried Unlock Root and it fails to get shell root. I searched all over google and the xda forums, but all say to run that command then run SuperOneClick and that hasn't worked for me. Anyone have any ideas?
