My atrix is deodex and i have the deodex keyboard. And i wonder how can i update my atrix to the latest version. i read that i cannot factory reset my phone if it is deodex.

If you don't have a way to 're'odex easily, you're going to have to flash the sbf before you can update. Backup your apps and data using TiBu (assuming you have root) and use this method.
....aaaaand this should probably be in Q&A
oops sorry sorry i thought i was on the [Q] & [A] section when i wrote this
Ps: thanks for the help
edit: does anyone know how to re-odex atrix 4g

Upon getting my Atrix and rooting it, I uninstalled some of the bloatware Bell put on it. However, I saw some topics on XDA saying that the apps should be frozen instead of removed, otherwise the phone could not be updated. Does someone with a Bell Atrix mind putting up the APKs of apps that Bell put on (Remote PVR, Kobo, TV & Radio, Zoompass + others)? Thanks in advance.
Here is a .zip with a dump of my /system directory. if you go into the app folder in that .zip all the .apk's you're looking for should be in there
Hey I just got my bell atrix too, what are those files necessary for?

it's just because he removed them. They're on every device and if you don't know what they're for, then you haven't removed them or done anything to them so you don't need to download that. It's just that it is rumoured that without them you can't install an official update.

the "roms" that are out now for the atrix (not technically the same as a traditional rom) will freeze the apps by themselves, but not exactly delete them. This is the accepted method, freezing them will stop them from taking up memory/lagging your device, but won't affect any updates that are to be made.
that being said - none of the ROMs out just yet include bell support - although ken is working on it for his next release of GingerBlur.
how can I install the APKs from the fastboot screen? Is it even possible?

no, unfortunately not. the only thing that would really help is a .sbf file that you could flash through RSD.
the only problem is that neither bell, nor motorola canada has seen fit to "release" (or leak) the necessary files to flash our phones back to stock.

Sorry for digging up an old thread. I accidentally deleted some of the Bell bloatware, and I think I'll need those for the new GB update that's being released. I tried installing the apks posted in this thread, but some of them won't work. I'm guessing it's a different version than after the 2.2.2 update?
Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.
Which version is this dump from, is it 2.2.2? I ask because my 2.3.4 update is failing because the /system/etc/apns-conf.xml file is failing the hash check - I tried overwriting it with the one in your zip but it still isn't working :-/
Try erasing cache data, then installing the 2.2.2 gobstopper by nfhimself.

I have an atrix at&t version 4.1.57
This is the second one I have as I bricked my first (thankfully I got another one for free).
I don't want to butcher this process so could someone please walk me through the process of getting greyblur (or if there's a better firmware please let me know) on my phone - my atrix hasn't been rooted.

Hey, I'm pretty sure you have to be rooted to install roms. Just follow the installation guide it's alot easier than it seems.
PS: I have GingerBlur and its great and the guide is for both GingerBlur and GreyBlur. Hope this helps.
Should I update to the latest OTA before I root or what?
For GreyBlur you are good with 1.5.7 according to its website but you need 1.8.3 for GingerBlur. Have you not gotten the OTA for 1.8.3 yet?

no i haven't. so i ota to 1.8.3 then root then blur?

This ROM works with the HD multimedia dock?
Hello, I have an AT&T rooted Atrix with original ROM in 4.1.5.7; so I think I'm a candidate to test this ROM. I have two questions:
1) I saw that HDMI mirroring is integrated in the ROM; will this work ok with the HD multimedia dock?
2) Is this ROM including WiFi proxy support?
Thanks!

You need to update to 4.1.83. And I'm pretty sure it works with the dock because the hack just changes what happens when you plug in the HDMI cord. And the proxy thing I have no idea... lol

SOAK test has not started yet. Best to get your info from Motorola Atrix official forums.
A & C. You can do so by flashing back to 4.1.26, 4.1.57, or 4.1.83 full sbf. All your answers for this are in the dev forum. If you are on AT&T you can go here for guide.
B. Backup your contacts to Google. Backup your apps with TiBu. Backup your music to your external SDCARD. Anything you want to manually backup from your internal SDCARD, just copy and paste over to your computer.
Helo guys, I used to own a Samsung Galaxy S, and last week I got the Droid X2 from Verizon. So now I'm seeing new terms being used like sbf, debloat, freeze, etc...
My DX2 is root and I also have the V6 Supercharger, and I still can't get the GB update.
I believe many users on this forum have the same case as mine, so can anyone give us steps to follow in order to get the update.
Thank you so much
sbf back to stock using rsd.
download the gb update, flash in recovery
look under general in Droid x2 forums

I came from a similar situation. I just got the x2 as a replacement for my fascinate due to repetitive missed call issues. I updated to Gingerbread today using the tips on this forum & the file posted to the mediafire link. The first thing you'll need to do for this update to work is undue all the non-stock modifications you've done.
Unsupercharge
Unfreeze or replace any stock apps you may have uninstalled. This is where the sbf comes in, it's the stock image that was loaded when it left the factory.
Unroot, might not be necessary but its better safe than sorry. Especially since this update is unrootable atm.
Rename the downloaded file update.zip & put it in the root of your sdcard-ext.
Flash from the stock recovery & you should be good.
Whatever other info you need, search these threads-its in there somewhere.

So the sbf brings back the DX2 to its original settings and apps?

The SBF does infact restore you to stock 2.2.2
It should also be the first thing you do when you get the phone (before rooting etc) It blows my mind that people would mess with their device without doing an SBF at least once.
The SBF will usually require you to battery pull at the end, go to stock Android recovery and wipe data and cache. (unless you did that before running the SBF)
On Vista and Windows 7 make sure you right click RSDlite and choose to "run as admin"
Everyone who did the OTA or the 2.3 update from here at XDA and wants p3droids rooted update is going to have to SBF momentarily. We should get rooted 2.3 this afternoon according to p3's twitter
I unrooted my phone and uninstalled the Supercharger, I sbf'd back to stock Froyo successfully, and still I can't get the update. What else should I do?

GREAT, you have completed step one. Do not load anything else on your phone. You will not be getting a over the air update.
You have more work to do to get 2.3.3 on your phone.
Just follow the direction at this link.

Just to be clear.... He should eventually get an OTA update if he waits long enough. But he won't be able to root it. So follow the link above, and do those steps to install the rooted version of the update from 3Pdroid.
(Yeah I know that's obvious, but the title of this thead DOES include the words, "I'm Totally Lost". )
Thanks all, I'm on the pre-rooted GB now
Much appreciated
