[Q] Market App Won't Run - myTouch 4G Themes and Apps

My market app won't run. It goes to load and then back to desktop. I was running CM7 Nightly 33 when I noticed this. I have wiped the device repartitioned the sd, installed RC 4 and am now back to RC3. I found a copy of vending 2_2_11 apk and have been installing that one over and over. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am rooted and have CMW 3.0.0.7 installed and recovery image 3.0.0.5. Prior to all of this I have the latest CMW and the 3.0.0.6 recovery installed. I have a lovely Titanium Backup stored on PC but of course no TB app to load it from.
EDIT: got a copy of android marketplace apk 2.3.4 for GB. Still won't load, just right back to the desktop

Had same issue. Have to reinstall Google aps and all is good.

Of course why would I think that a Google OS would need Google apps? Back up and running. What do you think is the best app for backing up not only the fat32 but the ext partition with comprehensive restore? Thanks again.

Can't install or update apps!

Okay I can't seem to install any new apps or update any existing ones on my phone. I'm able to download them, but once it tries to install its always unsuccessful. Don't get mad if this is the wrong thread. I'm new to this but usually find answers to my problems with someone else's topic. Except for this one here. Any help?

Try clearing system cache, reboot into recovery and clear dalvik cache, then reboot.
How do you clear system cache? Searched under settings could not find anything.
I've has the same problem. Lasted about two days. The apps would download but would stick on installing forever and would eventually fail. My solution was logging into Google on the phones browser. It seems like my account timed out on my phone, and after logging out and then back in, my market began to work perfectly again. You can also try what was posted above. Are you rooted? Cause of you aren't, then you won't be able to do those things said above. Good luck, hope this helps.

Tried clearing cache and signing in and out of Google. Neither worked. I have opera set up as default browser, tried with both opera & phones regular browser. Still nothing. Yes I'm rooted, running kaosfroyo v34.

Try a factory/data reset. Sounds like your only option.
Reflash after that to make sure it loaded correctly.
A simple flash over to KaosFroyo V 37 fixed the problem. Thanks for the suggestions.

Clear data for the market in settings. That usually works for me. If it doesn't, you can install the apps manually by using a file system manger (Linda File Manager, Root Explorer, etc.). The .apk should be in the download folder on the sd.

Ok so I've tried all suggestions and nothing has seemed to work. I figured, why not try a new rom? So I flashed over to Vanilla Tazz. Seemed ok at first. Was able to update apps and download some new ones. Emphasis on SOME. Cannot for the life of me get back AndroZip which is my favorite file manager. Even backed it up with Titanium before all this started happening but still could not restore it. And now with Vanilla all you get is the crappy Android keyboard. So I download the HTC ime keypoard apk. Can't install that either. Try to download eoeAppInstaller to do so, can't install that. This is really, really, really pissing me off. Is a factory reset my only hope?

Did you do a full wipe before installing the new rom? Try doing a dalvik wipe and rebooting. It shouldn't affect the current rom you're in.
Also, it sounds like whatever problem you had in the old rom was carried to the new one. Did you use titanium to restore any apps or settings? If so, you may have "restored" the problem.

Have you messed with any system apps? Like moving the market to the sd card?
Sent from my ERIS using XDA App
I backed up my kaos rom and wiped all data and cache before flashing vanilla tazz. Just wiped dalvik but still no luck.
I used titanium to restore apps but no settings. And no I haven't messed with system apps. Should I try moving to sd?

I had a problen with my FB not syncing with contacts (across several roms). Turns out something I was restoring with Titanium (not the FB app) was causing it. It'll be a pain in the rear, but you probably need to do a full wipe, flash a clean rom, and set everything up manually. OR you could probably nand restore to a rom BEFORE you were having this problem, create a Titanium back up, wipe, flash the new rom, and restore Titanium.
Hopefully, this will straighten things out for ya!

Full wipe as in factory reset right? Will that unroot the phone as well, basically forcing me to start from scratch?
Sent from my VANILLA TAZZ using XDA App
Tried nand restore but kept getting an error and could not complete.
Sent from my VANILLA TAZZ using XDA App
Full wipe for "rooters" means wipe data, dalvik, and ext (if sd card is partitioned).
Have you renamed your nandroid? If so, remove any spaces and try again.

Restore one of your old Nandroid backups that has the Market Fix app and save the .apk (for the market fix app) out of /data/apps to your SD card.
Then restore your (Nandroid backup of) KGBV8 and install the market fix .apk using a file manager.
Easy-Peasy.

[Q] How to remove titanium backup and kernel manager lite from bamf 1.6.2?

Whenever I start titanium backup, my thunderbolt freezes. I have wiped several times all with the same result. Also I have the paid versions of these apps so I would like to use those instead. I have also tried to use the bamf toolkit to remove titanium backup and that cause the phone to freeze add well.

Going into settings > applications > manage apps, does it freeze if you try to remove it that way?
There is not an option to uninstall. The button is grayed out. I think it is installed as a system application. Since I can't post in the das bamf thread, I have to post here hoping that there is a flash I can do or some other app on the market place that can uninstall system apps.

anyone have any thoughts on this? i'm still trying to update the free version of titanium backup with the premium version. in bamf1.63
You can delete the .apk for each file located in /system/app using root explorer or a file manager with root permissions. Since these were installed as system apps, they can't be uninstalled from the regular settings>manage apps menu, but you can delete with Root explorer.
I have deleted kernel manager this way - my pro key with titanium works with the system version, so I haven't deleted that.

Did you delete or move the apk? Reason I ask is that I moved it to my SD card (in case it caused issues) and realized that I wasn't hitting R/W in the upper corner, so it wasn't actually removing it, just copying the file in read-only mode.

You are a genius. I was in read only mode and the app I am using never warned me. I am using super manager. You have to set root permissions in the apps configuration.

OK... So I was able to remove titanium backup.
Now, I have the same problem with it from the market. Seems like a bamf issue and not an app issue.

[Solved] Apps unable to create new folders on internal sd

Hey all. I have Androwook 1.3 installed, and I am unable to use apps that need to create new folders, such as podcast apps or google earth, etc. I get a "no sd card error." I am also unable to download files to the download folder in chrome.
I have tried a full factory reset and system wipe and installing Androwook 1.5 and this did not fix the problem. I have tried fix permissions without fixing the problem.
Could this be a bigger problem with my file structure permissions?
What are your thoughts?

Do you mean that your attempt to install 1.5 failed because of this error? What recovery are you using?
No my 1.5 install was fully successful but it did not fix the problem the problem with apps being unable to create new folders or being able to download files in chrome.
I am using TWRP (2.2.1 I think).

Solved.
I installed TWRP 2.3.1. I then flashed the Clean Wipe zip found in the development forum and completely formatted my prime. I then pushed and flashed Androwook 1.51. My prime is working like a champ. Thank you for the help!

View/Install apps from stock NookColor 1.4 to CM10 or get bn app store apk file?

If possible I would like to install apps from nook color stock onto the cm10 duel-boot card I made. Also/or, if possible, I would like to find a way to get the bn app store on the CM10 ROM so I can install my apps from the stock firmware to CM10 for free.
Reasoning: Don't want to pay twice for apps. Don't want to reboot to use old apps. Some apps are only available through BN.
Use leapinar's method to restore Stock Rom, get it rooted/install gAPPS, and the backup the apps to an SD Card using Titanium Backup.
Just to clarify, I am dual-booting it. Cm10 isn't installed on the internal
