Came across the front page post on the modded shootme that records up 9001 FPS (yeah right), But I was disappointed to see the download link was broken. So, I went and did it myself.

I never feel right not giving any thanks where it's due...
so Thanks to neckface for the ultra simple instructions, Daneshm90 for ApkManager, and the dev of ShootMe.
WARNING; video quality is still pretty crappy, mostly when you're touching the screen.

clicking the camera button locks the res at (640x416) other then that it is a welcomed improvement over the stock HTC gallery app.
any important steps to be undertaken while installing this ?
It's very slow to update thumbnails on my Legend. To scroll and view lots of photos is not really feasible. Waiting, waiting waiting...
I can understand, why they left it out. Switched back to faster Legend Stock without the eye candy.
Nice, but indeed really really really slow
EDIT: it is really slow when U first open it. But when u open it, leave it for a while it starts rendering and caching your tiles, once that's done it works fine (maybe even better then stock photo app)
Just one note, the button to the camera doesn't work, it just give u an error message.
Yes is too slow.
If Legend's gallery showed also the picasa albums, that would be nice. like this one does.
Flikie Wallpapers HD
Flikie Wallpapers HD for Android on the markedet has a addon called "N1 3D gallery".... its the same but faster now and here the Camera actually also works on the Legend. (Use markedet enabler if you cant find it)
I am using this instead of the Gallery3D.apk (this gave me an error on the Camera and was damn slow).

s7yler, ive tried out those apps you mentioned and the camera is still locked to 640 pixels.
Geuss where just going to have to wait for 2.2 to be ported hopefully.
So I just installed CyanogenMod 7 Beta5 on my Defy and it's AWESOME!
But the only thing that disturb me is the Camera app in the ROM,
It does not have widescreen option for photos and The flash comes too early when taking pictures (photos becomes way too bright)..
So I'm asking that if someone could provide me the Stock BlurCamera.apk of froyo Defy please!!....
And if you could please explain how to install a stock app...
Many thanks
moment i try it
sorry, deos not work... i pulled the apk from pays ROM and tried to install it or put it to system/app both does not work.
If you want to trie it your own here the apk

Thanks anyway!! I'll test it...
EDIT: Doesn't work unfortunately :'(
Thanks
The BlurCamera uses libs from Blur core, I checked some files inside the .apk, it requires Motoblur.
I'm no android dev so I don't know what is possible here, but it would be awesome to have the BlurCamera (in my opinion the only good Blur app) on CM7, so if anyone of the devs has some time, BlurCamera fully supports Defy hardware, has an option to turn shutter sound off, and provides widescreen pictures as well as many effects and a decent UI.
the camera is the only bug of cm7,after AGPS being fixed today
fix flash focus maybe?
I am not using CM7 ( going to install it in the next few days). As i was reading i understood on a thread that in Camera Settings there is and option to pre-focus that fixes your problem??? Don't really know if it's there, maybe i red it elsewhere.
Any news on this? If there are no legal problems regarding motorola, I think this would be worth to work on, I could try but I think one of our great developers like Quarx or dexter could do it faster and more professional
Here again a short summary of the features:
- nice UI designed for fullscreen recording (16:9 pictures, maybe soon 16:9 videos?)
- up to 5mp pictures
- 6x zoom
- some effects (grayscale, color inversion etc.)
- camera modes (night, macro, motion)
- many options (shutter sound, shutter animation, ...)
- autofocus and flash optimized for defy (very good pictures, especially with jpg compression patch)
- google camera somehow always is on full brightness... blurcamera can manage brightness levels of the screen that the display doesn't blind you while taking nightly images
- some things I forgot
Quarx already posted a zip with the blur camera for cm7 its only a test and I think video does not work at least no sound.
Sent from my Defy on EphuNord rom.

Thanks for the info!!
I just hope that the blur camera will be worked and integrated in CM7... Because the UI is sleek and simple..
When the BlurCamera works and most of the minor bugs are fixed CM7 by Quarx will be the perfect rom, but until now it's also the best I've ever seen
I hope that we'll find soon a way to install original MotoBlur apps separately on any unofficial ROM. It will be great to have the BlurCamera and the Blur Music Player on CM7.
I agree, although does slow phones down quite a bit, I've yet to find an app that integrates contacts as well. Hopefully there will be a way to bring motoblur to CM7.
Hi all, I have a mod for the Potatoman/hyperX hack, which solves the 'camcorder zoomed-in at 1080p' problem, and also allows zooming at 1080p...
Because it's my first post here, I can't add a link to a new apk on the dev thread...admins, is it possible to get permission to do so?
Why don't you just paste the text for the link but with a few spaces then? It's not like people don't recognise links here just because there's a space.
Also, can't you just attach it to your post?
Sure
Download/install.
Choose 1280x720 for resolution...shoot/zoom/record etc.
Now check the properties of your recorded file...
The only catch at this stage is you lose the original 720p functionality, which wouldn't be hard to add back in with more work. Also note I'm currently using the 'super high-bitrate' settings for both the original 1080p(zoomed) mode, and this new one. I haven't had a chance to test those bitrates myself under difficult rendering conditions (daylight, detailed moving foliage/city scene etc) for stability, so can't make any guarantees in that respect.
A few commenters have mentioned being willing to donate to have this functionality, and I happen to be exceedingly broke atm Not sure if my paypal link appears yet, but any contributions would be much appreciated!
Neato burrito, but I'd like to keep my 720p functionality too. Hmm not paying for small functions like this.
Uncrippling the sgs2's fixed 2.0x zoom ratio at 1080p is a small function?

You not just taking the 720p version and resizing are you?
+ the sensor in not capable of zooming in 1080p (sensor crop) as there are no more devisions for pixel binning. So this is a digital zoom?
Post any video links as examples?
I'm sorry to say that this mod is upscaling from 720p (that you have to use to use the 1080p mod) to 1080p when you use this mod.
So the videos looks way worser than my true 1080p movies that i have recorded with my Galaxy S II.
So yeah, the mod doesn't work.
EDIT: Hold on, i'm gonna upload a short video clip to show you the difference.
EDIT 2: Here is the true 1080p recording i did on my Galaxy S II one and a half month ago. This video clip is taking 145 MB and lasts for 1 minute. Just right-click on the link and choose 'Save as'.
And here is the "fake 1080p" recording with the mod from this topic. This video clip is taking 36.5 MB and lasts for 15 seconds. Just right-click on the link and choose 'Save as' here to.

Thanks for that!
I do think the OP should mention the simple resize of 720 as not to mislead people. Especially if donations are being asked for!
Yes, you're right, deanwray and Tom-Helge.
Did some testing of my own earlier...
Ah well, was excited there for a bit.
Interesting the encoder can do different res to file on the fly, which might be useful for something or another...but that's about it.
DO NOT DONATE!

Didn't actually realise you were asking for donation for something you had not done!!!
wow!!!
I mentioned it briefly in another post and searched the forum - but found nothing.
I am talking about the Sweep Panorama mode of the Xperia-S camera. Not the '3D' versions, the 'normal' (2D) sweep panorama - the last icon in the first ('Shooting mode') menu. I tend to experience problems with it and am not sure if everyone has observed the same.
In Sweep Panorama mode, whatever direction of sweeping I choose, I tend to get error messages that either:
- I am sweeping too fast, or
- I am sweeping too slow, or
- just 'Picture could not be taken' with no explanation why.
I need to mention that I have plenty of sweeping experience on my previous Xperia X10 and on a Sony Nex camera - so I am sweeping really smoothly and at medium speed. Are the phone position sensors and accelerometers too sensitive? (And the camera software inadequately set to interpret them?).
This is happening in roughly 3 out of 4 attempts (or even 4 out of 5) making the function hardly usable and very annoying.
Ironically, while the X10 had no such function, I was using a 'beta' version (called Panorama Beta) as a standalone app, offered by Sony Ericsson on the Android Market (now Play Shop). Despite being a beta, that app worked flawlessly and never gave me such problems. I have many excellent panoramas from that, and some have even won photographic awards. I particularly like the 'vertorama' mode, i.e. vertical sweeping. With the camera in 'landscape' mode, this captures a square-ish rectangle - with a wider field of view and more scene detail, at highest possible resolution. To capture a square (or 4:3 'portrait') vertorama, you need to stop sweeping early - and the Beta app had a 'Stop' button.
The new version integrated within the Xperia camera has no 'Stop' and expects you to make very long sweeps. I tried to stop by pressing the on-screen or physical shutter button, but that produces the above errors - or a very long and narrow rectangle, half of it greyed and the other half a blurry, low resolution panorama.
Disappointed with the function, I wanted to use the standalone Panorama Beta app, but it doesn't appear in the Market. Is it withdrawn by Sony? (As no longer beta and included with newer firmware)? Or is it only not appearing for the Xperia-S - presuming you already have it?
I tried taking a backed-up .APK from the X10 and 'restoring' (installing) it on the X-S, but it does not install. The install process starts normally, but when the blue 'thermometer' finishes, the message is: 'The app did not install' - with no further explanation. I imagine it discovers the newer version already installed and avoids a conflict with it?
All other 'panorama' apps on the market are much worse, from primitive to utter rubbish. They are either not 'sweep' and ask you to take multiple separate shots, asking you to manually align them to on-screen guide marks, before running a 'stitch' operation (resulting in very poor blends with obvious fault lines). Or they shoot relatively smoothly, but the end image is very lo-res, small in size and out of focus. Among all of them the Photaf app was closest to 'working' but it's only horizontal and stitches are a hit-and-miss (most of the time a miss - too obvious).
Can others, please, share experiences with the Sweep Panorama mode in the Xperia-S camera? Does it work for you or have you got similar problems? Has anyone found solutions?
Any suggestions how to make the Beta standalone app install and work? (The new one isn't standalone, so I am not sure I'll be able to uninstall it, even when I root the phone).
Thanks for any info!
The new Sweep Panorama sucks big time indeed. There's a modified APK of the beta floating around, I've been using it on my Arc S/Neo for ages, works just fine!
Don't have my S yet, so can't try it, but you can give it a go:

Thanks a lot - this is the same Panorama 'Beta' I loved on my X10, works well on the X-S. I'll now use it as main pano tool and hope Sony will fix their in-camera version with one of the firmware updates.
Not sure if they read (or at least scour with spider-bots) this and similar sites for insight what needs fixing - if I knew a contact point I'd write to them but won't spend time researching their feedback channels...
The S camera rocks otherwise, wish you to get yours soon!
I'll let them know whenever I get the chance
hi just wondering if theres an option to make photo sphere as tiny planet. i took a surrond shot completing all unfortunately at gallery theres is no option to make it tiny planet. can some one help thanks
I was looking for this too -- I hear that it's no longer available and to use Google Camera. Unfortunately, I cannot create a tiny planet using Google Camera from photospheres I already took with my s6 camera. Still researching though...
edit: I take that back -- I just saw the "create tiny planet" within the Google Camera app, using an existing photosphere!
edit 2: I got 1 tiny planet, but now Google Camera keeps crashing when I try to create another one - even after reboot, un-install/install.
