My gps will not lock at all since I have flashed from nero to bionix v and now 1.2. I don't use my gps often so it is not the end of time and I follow som's directions to the letter when ever I flash any team whiskey roms and I have never had any bugs until now. Does anyone have a gps fix?

Try flashing a different modem. My GSP and data were both crap with KA7. They were both much better with KA6.

+1 ^. You could also try GPS restore. Downloaded from the market. Haven't used it myself cause my GPS has always worked. But I have seen alot of people use it and it fixed their issue.

I've read that using the eb01 kernel and DL09 radio can improve battery life in SC 2.8. Truth?
myth..
however i wouldnt try any other radio with eb01
Give it a shot. Easy enough to do the switch and you can always go back. The presenter of that configuration is a trustworthy source here on the forums.

dunno about battery life yet .. going to wipe bstats in a few . i can say that it improved my data connection tremendously .
Actually, it's highly probable. Especially if you use gps. It's a commonly known fact DL09 had the best gps lock of any other. Dunno about data connection speeds...
being a noob, I don't want to mess up how my phone is working right now. I used adrynalyne method to flash my phone back after 2.7, to stock. Flashed new CWM, flashed 2.6 then 2.8 voodoo, used eb01 kernal, and enabled lagfix. I also have EB01 midnight/steel blue theme rocking. I would like to get back to dl09, becuase of the GPS performance. Do I need to do anything special before I do that, or just find and flash it via CWM. Voodoo is the part that makes me hesitant, and that fact that I use my phone as my modem, so I mess it up, I can't access this forum to fix it.
Thanks in advance.
Chopper posted a .tar. I'm on voodoo too , just flash via Odin in the PDA section.

As stated above by lucas.scott use odin to flash the tar file using the pda option. And below are links to both so you can undo it if you should feel the need.
EB01 modem
DL09 modem
Credit to danknub (from irc) for the links and hosting.
good day.
do I have to worry about voodoo? Or is that just the kernal that i worry about? sorry for the noob question.

Not at all. Flashing a modem tar with odin includes no voodoo worries.
good day.

Thanks for the quick reply, trying now!
How is it working out for you guys? I am tempted to try it, but would like to know if you see any differences. Thanks!
Dl09 is better for gps in my case

Haven't seen any difference in battery life . But GPS went from taking 15 minutes to sync on eb01 , to about 2 seconds . So that's well worth it in my book .

Update to sc 2.9.1and you won't have anymore gps issues. I lock almost immediatly.
Any improvement in reception, battery life, data tranmission (i.e. reliability and speed)?
I tested it for a few hours, and noticed that my MMS died. I could not receive MMS messages, it would stick on downloading. Of course after that, I went right back to EB01 modem.
Hmmm I haven't had any mms problems. In fact , I was experiencing data drops on eb01 . Dl09 cured that for me . Crazy how different phones are reacting so differently .

Honestly though, I should test again. The MMS in question were from my girlfriend who is on T-Mobile, and I have often experienced bull**** from her MMS with T-Mobile. So that may be it, I might test further because most people say DL09 is sweet.
Tell me about it dude , my girl is on at&t and about 60% of our texts never reach each other . Switching her to vzw this month.

I'm having some text message issues lately. I've tried different ROMS, Radios after full wipes and it seems that some of my text never get received from some of my contacts. I also noticed that rarely I won't receive text from people sometimes also. Any help would be appreciated
That's a bit vague. What radios and roms have you tried.

I had a similar issue when I went to SuperClean 2.9, which requires the DL09 modem. Once I flashed the DL09 modem all my problems went away.
Which modem/radio are you using?

I've tried all DarkREVENGE releases, all SC releases, stock 2.2 ROM's and Radios. I'm starting to feel that it's a hardware issue.
Are they the same radios accept that ea28 has fixed emergency calling feature?
Ea28 comes through an ota so it is an official radio. You will look less suspicious as a rooter if you are running this radio I'd imagine. I don't know what the actual differences are though and I don't think change logs are available. Hopefully someone can enlighten us.

I don't believe they are the same radio. EA28 radio is still the one that came with the EA28 Eclair build. EB01 radio (modem) is the one that came with the leaked EB01 build which gave us the superclean versions 2.0 and higher and a few of the other Froyo roms we are playing with. The EB01 modem also still has the emergency calling fix.
I believe people have had problems with the EB01 radio not ringing all calls and when that happens not showing missed calls. Seems like DL09 and EA28 radios have less of this issue than the EB01 radio. I'd recommend EA28 so VZ knows you have their latest.

Superclean 2.9.1
EB16 voodoo kernel
EA28 radio
DL09 radio helped me with some GPS issues on an earlier SC build. But been using EB01 since then. In every day use their is nothing to do different with either radio. And its easy to switch back and forth to see which better using using tar files in Odin.

can anyone help? My phone won't connect reliably to wifi networks. It detects them cycles that it is connecting, obtaining IP address then disconnects and keeps repeating this cycle. These are networks I have connected to before. I am on stock, debloated, deodexed, EBO1.
thanks,
I had the same problem on EB01, hasn't happened since updating to ED01.
+1 on not having this since my latest radio update.
It used to do it pretty regularly, and a reboot with WiFi on tended to correct the issue for a while. Perhaps that will help you too?
I've flashed roms like nobody's business. Never did just a radio. Is there a way to update just the radio?
