Boot loop, NvFlashed and boot loop again - G Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I rebooted my Gtab in Vegan Ginger Edition RC1 Stable after installing the Skype app and the tab got stuck in a boot loop on the pulsing vegan ginger logo. I didn't know what to do to fix it so I nvflashed. I thought the nvflash was successful but after the gtab rebooted and hit the "gtablet" logo splash screen, it hung there for about 10 seconds and then rebooted to the birds and then back to gtablet and then hung again and rebooted etc.... Can anyone here help me with this one?
Thanks!

Okay, the crisis has been averted. I read through another post about replacing the part9 image in nvflash with CWM's recovery image and then renaming it to part9 so that the nvflash would install CWM as well. I then nvflashed and was able to access CWM again as opposed to before when I could not do anything. I was still in a bootloop however after nvflashing but I read somewhere to repartition after nvflash and clear data etc.. I then installed 3588 and and my gtab booted back into 3588 just fine.
So, I'm back up and running, thank God! Hopefully this post will help others if they find themselves in the same boat.

Tablet keeps restarting/rebooting endlessly!?

I NVFlashed CWM .8 and Vegan tab just like the stickies said and it worked great! However when I was installing stuff off the marketplace it suddenly froze up (this was after like 4 hours of useage) and when I went to restart it it just kept rebooting and rebooting and would never load
So I followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950 "[STICKY][ROM] nvflash FULL restore, using bekit's original image (Instructions)" and it reloaded the stock software fine but its still keep doing the bootloop?
I tried reloading a new ROM after following the "[STICKY][ROM] nvflash FULL restore, using bekit's original image (Instructions)" But when I goto "Mount /data and Mount/System"
it says
"e: canot mount /dev/block/mmcblk3p2
invalidargument
error mounting DATA:!"
Can anyone please help?
Now the tablet wont boot on at all, in APX mode, CWM mode, or even power on mode (yes it is plugged into the wall so it is not battery dead)

I am now having the same problem.
If you can still boot into CWM recovery (start up while holding down the Volume UP key) then go into advance and repartition 2048 and 0. This will erase everything stored in your internal memory and may require reinstalling your ROM depending on how much damage has been done to the partitions.
I installed TnT Lite 4.4.3 in standard and got the same problem.
Who can help us to fix this issue?
Thanks
I am unable to boot at all now, it wont turn on what so ever... any help??
Thought I would chime in on this, I had this on the tablet I had given my parents. He was having all sorts of force closes etc and just nothing would work, so when they came down I updated everything and put the latest CM7 on and it worked fine for a bit then all the sudden just locked up and when I rebooted it, it got in a loop. So I did the NVFlash and it still was in a loop. So what I did was put the External Clockwork recovery on an SD Card and booted into recovery flashing that. Then I powered off and went into Clockwork recovery and re-formatted the partitions as mentioned. And that is what seemed to fix it.
Thanks for the tip.

What does it do when you turn it on?
Birds then black? That's an APX loop plenty of instructions on how to deal with that.
Nothing but black? Is it charged? Will it charge?
If you give us no information we can't help you.

Stuck at Cyanogen boot screen after update

I searched for a thread like this but couldn't find one similar to my issue. I rooted my Thunderbolt and used ROM Manager to update to the latest Cyanogen Mod 7 Gingerbread flash. I ran the update and now I'm stuck at the boot screen where the blue Android is on the skateboard. It just keeps playing the animation over and over again.
Any ideas on how to get my phone to boot up? Appreciate the help!
Figured it out. I pulled the battery, and rebooted into recovery, then wiped all the data, and rebooted and it booted right up....

[Q] Recovery kernel image failed

Finally got tired of all the FC with the stock image. Thought maybe I had done something wrong so reset the device from the settings menu. Now all I get is Booting recovery kernel image but nothing moves forward. All I see is Viewsonic with the birds.
How can I recovery or mod to a working image? I will most likely need step by step instructions
I have the same thing, so annoying, can't even get NVFlash working.
bricked
I've seen plenty of comments saying that these have not been bricked. Guess we are the first unless there is another term for what we have.
sorry to bring up an oldish thread ...
I'm having difficulty after trying to flash to 1.2 bootloader and was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction.
I went back to 3588 stock, worked fine. I then tried to update to 4349. Now I get the viewsonic boot logo, and it goes no further. If I try the recover key, it sits on "Detect a recovery key pressed \r Booting recovery kernel image" and doesn't go anywhere.
I tried nvflash via the volume- button, and I get to (after ensuring the driver is loaded);
D:\nvflash>"nvflash.exe" --bct gtablet.bct --setbct --bl bootloader.bin --config
file gtablet.cfg --create --go
Nvflash started
miniloader download failed (response read failed)
rcm version 0X0
Press enter to continue:
Can anyone give me a shove in the right direction?
Cheers

I think I had the same issue last week when I went from a v1.1 bootloader rom to a v1.2 bootloader rom without using stock recovery to go from the old version to the new version. I used ClockworkMod to flash the v1.2 bl rom and it made my gTab do what you are describing.
I had to NVFlash to a stock v1.1 TnT rom that included ClockworkMod .8 and then use ClockworkMod to flash the last v1.2 TnT rom which got rid of ClockworkMod and installed the stock recovery which I then had to use to flash to the latest v1.2 bootloader based rom I chose which was Mountain Laurel 3.1.0 (the last release from Roebeet on another site).
After I did that and had a gTab that had a v.1.2 bootloader ROM running on it I installed ClockworkMod that is v1.2 bootloader compatible and installed Pershoot's last FroYo kernel for our gTabs.
Now my gTab is running great and I'm a happy camper.
Good luck.
Hey there,
Thanks for the reply.
I ended up changing USB cables and got NVFLASH to work.
I'll have to throw the other one away.
So what I was stuck on was;
1. At boot, viewsonic logo screen.
2. At recovery, stuck on "Detect a recovery key pressed \r Booting recovery kernel image"
3. At APX mode, stuck on "miniloader download failed (response read failed)" after entering the nvflash_gtablet command.
I changed USB cables, and now I am back in business. I'm back to stock 3588.
Cheers!

Gtab Stuck in Reovery Boot

Hi All, I have attempted to flash clockwork mod onto my G-Tab using This guide. I put the update.zip into its proper place in the internal sd card, and then booted to recovery where it looked as if it installed and then it rebooted, I then went back into recovery where now it is stuck at the Viewsonic Birds screen and says in the corner "Recovery Key Detected" "Booting recovery kernel image". It never made it to clockwork. I know that it is not bricked, I can still boot to the normal OS but would like to get it to clockwork and then to a custom Rom. Any Suggestions or help for this?
I have done several samsung captivate root's and flashed them with custom Rom's so this is not my first rodeo.
Thanks
Sam
What bootloader are you on?

That CWM version is for 1.1 bootloader. Boot to Android, go to Settings, About & see which TapNTap version you are on. If it starts with 1.2 you are on 1.2 bootloader. If it starts with 1.1 you are on the 1.1 bootloader & you flashed the wrong version.

[Q] Boot loop help

haven't had time to play anymore and looking to wipe and sell my gtab. I had C7 running, so I went to settings/privacy and wanted to remove my account, saw a /dev/null popup, but after rebooting, I saw the birds and right into recovery and that's where I am stuck. There are other posts, none of which I could really follow, but here is my scenario;
On boot I get the birds, top left "booting recovery kernel image". I tried a wipe, install from zip and 2 or 3 numerous ROM's that had worked in the past, so that is where I am stuck. The bottom of CWM shows;
ClockworkMod Recovery v.3.0.2.8 (GTAB 1.2 and NI Adam rev5)
I don't have my old windows VM that I used to flash 1.2, but I really don't care what ROM I go with, custom, TNT, etc. so just need to know how to get back to a bootable system.
Thanks.
Your problem description is not very clear. Is your gTab always booting into recovery? If yes, then, see this thread.
