[Q] Help Tried to ODIN Ec01 and it failed now... - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

PUlled battery out and reflashed tried going to full odin restore it keeps getting stuck now on setup configuration in ODIN> I hope I didnt brick my phone

Before anyone gets bent out of shape, this thread is in the wrong section. (See how nice you can say it.)
Anyway, If your phone is booting to download mode, it is not bricked. What file are you trying to flash and in what section of odin? Also if it is failing after you hit start, copy paste the odin log in so we can see exactly where it is failing.
Second suggestion try to flash stock DI01 or DL09 in PDA section to see if you can get it running that way.

I have tried stock d09 in pda and it gets stuck param.ifs

have you tried flashing with the PITT file? you can try that. uuuummmmmm, I think I would try downloading the EB01 all in one package from Adryn and flash it with the Atlas2.2 pitt file and see how that runs.

Unless it fell off the desk while flashing, if it still turns on you're probably ok. Try the cure all laid out by giz http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1017817 look for the thorough method. If you cant get into download mode at first don't panic, sometimes it can take a few attempts before resorting to jigs.
Also if your issue is odin getting stuck in during the flash then first check your download. A corrupt download has taken time from me and quite a few others trying to figure out.

[Q] Stuck at vibrant screen after odin

Ok, I was restoring my phone to stock with odin following these stpes
Disable Voodoo
Odin to eugenes froyo that wont brick
sticks at vibrant screen
tried odining to JFD
odin completes but still hangs at the vibrant screen
I have tried with and with out repartition checked and I am able to enter and exit download mode freely, I have tried 3 differnt versions of odin and 2 different downloads of the pda and pits. Any help would be great.
EDIT, Odin is finishing at the pass stage when the phone attempts to boot Currently flashing the JI6 seeing if it works.
Still not getting anywhere, I have now tried to odin to eugenes froyo, JFD, JI6, all which end the same with out a boot screen, I can get download but no recovery.
From my understanding when you flash eugenes froyo that wont brick the boot animation should change to the international one, mine has not done that so I am starting to wonder if there is an issue with the flashes themself.
How long did you wait after flashing the stock firmware? The first boot usually takes a while after an Odin. Did Odin finish flashing everything to the point that it said restart in blue?
You can find instructions to revert to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
I've gotten myself out of some pretty bad "bricks" with JFD and ODIN... make sure you also use the stock .pit file and you can check repartition, use JFD and should fix you right up.
I have waited for 10-15 minutes after it says restart and then sometimes after it says pass, and I have done to jfd and stock pit.
left phone at boot fell asleep woke up hr or so later still at vibrant screen, still cannot access recovery but can access download mode.
To OP. What custom rom did you run before flashing back to stock? Have you recovered?

I was on axura the newest one and did not like it that much tbh had tons of processes starting nonstop and was constantly down to 35m of memory while idle. No I have not recoverd, I have flashed every combo I can think of with ODIN but alas have had no luck.
Currently it is being warrantied out for a free replacement.

So tired.... I am in the same boat. But I get to flash Eugenes froyo but i have 0 room in app storage. Then When I try to Odin to stock JFD and stock .pit it all goes well untill I get to recovery and it tells me in red text "data wipe failed"
The phone reboots and goes black after the galaxy s animation.
You think samsung will fix it for me? I go the phone in July 2010.
To OP.
have you tried flashing eugenes froyo that doesn't brick? I can't understand why a lot of these bricks are happening right now. Especially when you do flash your phone back to stock.

How would I know if samsung will fix it.. I called tmobile said it got bricked while doing JI6 boom problem solved. Their support is not that great though he was having me try to access root by calling it a secert master menu, then asked if i tethered my comp to it but his definition of tether was syncing files I was just playing dumb and letting him ask me his questions

Rooting your device and flashing custom roms onto it voids your warranty from t-mobile. You are wasting your time trying to see if they will help, This is NOT in their job description. They might laugh at you.
@OP Try flashing to a TRUE stock firmware, I personally would not flash from a custom rom to another custom rom, does that make sense? You should go back to t-mobiles legit 2.1. There is a link in the Bible here under the Dev forum. But, The link is broken. So Ive uploaded it here http://www.mediafire.com/?8kw71bx06an0vwg
Don't give up on odin yet, try things like changing your usb ports on the computer, this has worked for me. I also have a video tutorial using odin, it might be of some help to you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10207377&postcount=1

Stuck on modem.bin using Odin

Hello,
I wanted to flash my phone back to stock EB01, was running Superclean 2.9.1. Using Odin and EB01_DXC.tar.md5, it is now stuck on modem.bin. And I dont want to screw up my phone, any suggestions?
I use heimdall it doesn't do movinand.bin, but it's never been a problem for me. You can pick which pieces go into it and it has always been successful for me.
I had the same thing happen to me a while back. I just unplugged my phone and restarted the whole Odin process and it worked the second time. I'm not telling you to do this by any means... Just telling you what I did any my outcome. Good luck!

Odin is actually very unreliable (To the OP). Heimdall is MUCH more efficient, and it doesn't mess with the bootloaders if I remember correctly. Anyways, when I first started and was using Odin, this happened to me once or twice, I did what SnrSuave did, just re-do the whole process, worked fine for me as well.
I have the same problem here. But in my case, both odin and heimdall stuck got stuck on modem.bin on every package I threw in.
Any suggestion?

I would try to redownload the package again, sounds like a goofy download. I've had a few similar issues with ODIN as well. I usually restart my PC and repeat the process and all go well.

Will Donate To Whoever Fixes My Vibrant

im in a soft brick, used aio toolbox to try to flash to stock from 2.2 and now my phone just flashes the vibrant logo and the battery icon with the loading circle thing over it, ive been to 4 or 5 different forum threads about fixing it using odin but nothing has worked. odin goes through the whole process ad says it passes but nothing, still stuck. im about to go to tmobile and either talk my way into a new one or pay the insurance deductible for a new one and forget about all this rooting stuff, but if someone can walk me through fixing it in the next day or two, ill donate via paypal
When you used Odin did you get into the download mode? And which files/ROM did you use with flashing Odin?
You need to use Eugenes froyo that doesn't brick and the stock JFD Eclair ROM that comes with our phone (Stock ROM). I was in your position when I didn't disable voodoo while going to a different ROM once. That scared me to death lol.
If you're phone starts you can fix it. Read the stickies and find the noob guide for Odin then donate to OP.
If you can get into download it is easily fixable.
In the noob section there are methods to getting into download mode. Try this one first, :
Remove the battery, remove the sim and remove sd card. Get Odin up on the computer and plug the usb cord into the computer not the the phone. Holding both volume rocker buttons down at the same time plug the phone into the usb that should get it to go in to download mode. There are variants of this method, like ... do the same but keep the battery in. Or, go into recovery mode and then do the same thing with it on. Read the noob guide by S15274N he has all of them posted and explained.
If none of these work for you, then Buy a jig from Connextion2005 (mobilevideotech.com) for 8 bucks it will get you into Download mode. You can find him in the forum or that website. It works without effort. YOU SHOULD BUY ONE ANYWAY.
Once in ODIN :
You will need a stock JFD Tar file, pit512 file
1 Load the PIT file into the appropriate area and the .tar in the PDA area.
2 You want to check the 're-partition' box.
3 Now click start, let it finish, and this time your phone will load up just fine!
4 Then, root the phone (use superoneclick) then Download Rom manger open it into flash CWM. Then you can flash your new Rom.

Appreciate that man. To the OP, this is easily fixed... oka1 has you on the right path. If you need help, just PM me... I spent 2 hours with a guy last week doing this, rooting him afterwards and getting him a custom ROM... no money was given.
ODIN is the answer. The noob guide has at the bottom of the OP a subject called the ALT METHOD. It will fix your phone, give a leaked froyo (upgrade it later), root and a recovery.... just by pressing like 3 buttons.
i have the jfd tar and both the 512 pit and 513 pit, have tried them both and both with repartition checked and unchecked, tried every combination i could think of even used all 4 of my usb ports, still nothin. in odin when i goes through the process itll say RESET in blue then after about 2 minutes itll say PASS in green, but my phone will just have the battery icon on it with the loading wheel thing over it....thats it everytime. i get into download mode just fine btw
T959UVJFD and s1_odin_2010512
you will have to odin to eugene's froyo that does not brick then odin jfd and 512
yeah i just got eugenes froyo "that doesnt brick" i may be jumping to conclusions but i think it may need a name change cuz now im bricked....just a complete black screen doesnt do anything no download mode no recovery no nothing

[Q] Bricked Vibrant?

Okay, so after installing the kang build 25 ICS for the vibrant, everything went fine. Randomly I get a random reboot and my phone says there was an "encryption error" and that I have to do a factory reset. Since I already had everything backed up, I didn't mind the data wipe. When it went rebooted the CWM screen came up and started wiping everything but when it got to the "formatting data" part, it failed. I tried this many times and it kept failing... SO, I decided to ODIN back to JFD. After doing so, all I get is the Vibrant screen, then an instant shut down. I even tried Eugene's old No Brick Froyo PDA, then tried to reinstall the JFD image, but got no luck.
Question is: What should I do now?
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
Its a little involved but It's all I could find to help buddy

It's not the easiest thing in the world to accomplish but It is a guarantied way to get your vibrant into successful download mode to reflash to stock.
At the least something to get you started
Good Luck!
Perhaps it could be a bootloader problem? If you're sure you are doing Odin right, including repartition with the pit file, you could look at your SBL.
.
Sorry but what is SBL?

I dont know how to explain it very well lol but to check if the rom you are trying to odin has the sbl in it. Rename it and put a .zip at the end. Then extract to see if its in there it should be named "sbl". To change it back simply delete the .zip off the original file.
JFD
I'm trying to ODIN the original JFD firmware, and I just checked that it does not have SBL in it.
Try odining a rom that has the sbl file in it thats probably why its not working.

The SBL is the Secondary Boot Loader, which is loaded by the Primary Boot Loader.
I haven't personally encountered any roms which also flash bootloaders.
I did manage to get my phone bootlooped in some weird way which apparently could only be fixed by reflashing the SBL. Note: flashing bootloaders is more dangerous than regular roms.
I am presently running a GB SBL from this thread:

a 301kohm jig is ONLY good if you have a valid Initial Bootloader, Primitive Bootloader, Partition Table AND Secondary Bootloader. If you damage any of those, a 301kohm jig won't work.
Use UnBrickable Mod. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277056
Flashed the GB bootloader and no luck either . Flashed back to the froyo one, and got the data wipe error again, the phone rebooted, and now its at "KERNEL PANIC - UPLOAD MODE"

I have already tried the Heimdall method... and I can access download mode. I think the thing that is causing the bootloop is that the Data wipe fails after a restore. Thats when the bootloop kicks in

If you did Odin/Heimdall to stock after flashing the SBL, and it is still messed up, its beyond me and I'd really like to know the fix. Wiping should be irrelevant after Odining to stock.
If you are getting errors in recovery when you try to wipe/format/restore, that indicates a mismatch between the kernel and the partitioning or filesystem.

SO the thing is I used the GLITCH kernel with vibrant build 25... I dont think I was supposed to... could that have caused the problem? maybe a voodoo problem?
There are two glitch kernel series that I know of, one for CM7 and one for CM9 and ICS (I think, not sure, that all ICS builds and CM9 use the same basic filesystem scheme).
All stock builds use a Samsung FS scheme which is different from the two above. So there are at least three mutually-incompatible families of FS+kernel pairs.
I used the CM9 kernel I think...
After the installation went fine, I got the encryption error which told me to reboot. as soon as I did, I got the Data wipe fail. Any ideas?
Encryption Error
I'm going through the same thing. I had my phone at ICS passion for months, last night I noticed my phone was in a boot load screen, but it was dimmed. I simply went and took out my battery. . maybe not the best idea, cause I'm now unable to flash back to stock.
I used odin to go back to stock, but I keep getting a boot load/reset. Nothing is happening.
If anyone has found out more on this, please let me know. Thank you so much.

[Q] TWRP loop, unable to restore or flash anything

I've searched the forums and haven't found a solution to my problem. I have rooted S4 MK2 and wanted to put Gummy ROM on it, only finding out after I had installed TWRP that this wouldn't be possible. No big deal, but now, I can't get away from the stupid downloading screen for TWRP. No longer do I get the screen before it warning about tinkering with your operating system, and once it's stuck on the screen, getting the phone to boot properly sometimes takes a while, and a lot of foul language. I've tried several things to bypass/delete/overwrite TWRP, to no avail. ODIN doesn't work for me, tried several versions, ROM Manager and CWM doesn't work, when I try to boot into CWM mode it goes to downloading screen of TWRP. I finally gave up, decided to nuke it from space and do a factory reset... which took me straight to the damnedable downloading screen! This tells me I will probably be unable to update or use any ASOP ROMs that I might run into, because once on the downloading screen, nothing works, the phone isn't recognized by my computer, two different versions of ODIN failed to get its attention, unable to to load .pit or .tar files... I'm at wits end folks, and haven't found a solution in any other threads on xda, or the net in general, any help and suggestions would be much appreciated. I've not used ADB before, but if need be, I'll learn if there's a fix going that route.

Does Odin "see" your phone? If so, what build are you trying to install?
I know the damage is done, but a little reading before hand would have let you know that with MK2 you can't install a custom recovery. Only Safestrap works with compatible Touchwiz 4.3 Roms
Edit: Maybe this thread will help. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578209
Edit #2: My apologies. Just re-read your post and I see you said, more than once, that Odin isn't seeing your phone. I'm afraid I won't be any help. Good luck.
Odin sees the phone, but fails at all attempts to install anything. .pit, .tar etc. I originally wanted to install Gummy but now I know that won't ever work, then I just tried to install stock .tar file and it also fails.

My most recent attempt was SCH-I545.pit, didn't work... I also tried Philz_Touch, gummy, and one other ROM which, of course didn't work, now I know why the roms didn't, but no sure why the .pit file won't work. All I really want to do now is remove all traces of TWRP. My phone isn't bricked, totally usable, it just won't be able to be updated or customized until I get rid of TWRP

All I really want to do now is remove all traces of TWRP. My phone isn't bricked, totally usable, it just won't be able to be updated or customized until I get rid of TWRP

It looks to me like your only option is to Odin back to stock MK2. Did you check out the link I gave you in my first post?

I'm reading over it now, considering doing the full wipe. Now that I know custom ROMS are going to be limited to ASOP I don't mind going stock and unrooted. I really appreciate your help

If you get it straightened out I would recommend reading this thread after. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2606501
Let me know how you make out. Good luck.
From reading this I think you're confusing TWRP with Odin. TWRP doesnt have a downloading screen, but Odin does and thats exactly the screen you want to be on to flash a stock Odin tar. You will need to flash a full stock tar. And if you respond saying it didnt work please include the Odin error log.

You making sure you have the proper USB drivers as well as a good USB cable?
Also like surge said its kind of confusing I think you're confusing Odin with twrp as well at times.
So now your trying to load which file from within Odin???

Got everything working, I'm all stock and all systems are go. Thank you very much for your kind help. I'm going to now patiently wait for the official 4.4 update to arrive and otherwise leave my phone stock.
