[Q] Question FreeX10beta4 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

though I am using FreeX10 beta4(with fix),
when I use app "Barnacle wifi tether" & "wireless tether for root",
The message "sd card safe to remove" appears and my X10 reboots without fail.
please teach the method of evading this.

This reset is not problem with your app but problem with superuser, i have in this rom the same problem with app that need su access, when it want su access in statusbar show sd card safe to remove and phone restart, try reinstal su aplication and this two app

I have another question.... Is there any other way to install Free X10 Beta4 without using Xrecovery??
Xrecovery is not working for me, Ive tried every possible solution (even flashed the cellphone) and "Reinstalled" Xre, and the cellphone would just boot normally after pressing Back repeatly when SE logo appears.
I would sincerely appreciate your help!

Thank you for your answer.
I tried to uninstall Superuser.apk with next:
rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
pm uninstall com.noshufou.android.su
and to install Superuser.apk in Market.
so Barnacle is working !
But when stop this app, the message "sd card safe to remove" appears and my X10 reboots without fail.
Is there a problem in the wifi access app?
another su access app(app is no wifi access) is no problem.

[Q] Rooting/backup issues

Ok just got a replacement Vibrant. I Immediately went to the official release of froyo to test. Installed fine using KIES. Attempted to Root and did so successfully using the SuperOneCLick app wich when finished tested and confirmed root. Went to install Busybox and it gives me the Nand locked error.
1)Is there a way to confirm phone is nand locked?
2)Ive only found a way to unlock nand is for the Bell version or requires a paid app or extra non Tmobile sim card (wich I dont have). Is there a way to unlock nand for Tmobile not involving either sim card or cash?
3)Is it possible to odin a different rom/kernel (namely TW's Newest Nero) if phone is nand locked and have working busy box/root?
open titanium backup and click on 'problems?' to d/load busybox, same issue?
Yes it downloads busybox and then says "failed" after verifying busybox. Says cannot get root permissions. Please verify you have root and Busybox.
download terminal
open it
type "su" (no quotes)
what did it return?
SU comes up with "Permission denied". Should I try using the "update.zip" method with froyo? As i said the other program confirmed root supposedly. Super User Is installed BTW.
Did you follow this guide?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925400
Ok that was the guide i was following. Issue was that whenever I tried to dl the recommended file manager from market , It would show the dl completeing and then close with the application never installing and not showing up in applications. I had already had ES File explorer installed as that was my favorite on my initial vibrant (pre official 2.2) because the ease of transferring files wirelessly and other functions. I uninstalled ES and ran Titanium again and this time was prompted for SU rights. After giving rights to Titanium i again ran the "Problems" button and ths time busybox installed. Restarted Ti and ran "Problems" and updated busybox just fine.
Seems my immediate issue is done. Now on to backup and then ROM's.
You, my friend, deserve a big, sloppy, man kiss.
*BTW The app Super Manager is still not installing for me even after removal of ES and reboot of phone.
Open titanium backup
Select "market"
Wipe data
Wipe it again for good measure.
Still in tb
Menu > market doctor
Fix market links
reboot
Open market
Agree to terms
Issue fixed?
Perfect that did the trick. Never knew about that feature in Ti Backup. Again many thanks. Working on the CWR signature issues now, following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833423 . Dont want to do anything until I have a nandroid to fall back on.

[Q] Titanium not working since SU update...

since upgrading superuser to 3.0, I can no longer access Titanium Pro
It says it has root permissions in superuser, but Titanium Backup says it cannot acquire root priveleges.
I ununstalled and reinstalled both programs, then TB would hang at the asking for root permissions screen first time. Next time I go in, it gives me the error about no priveleges. If I click switch Profile, I get asked to give it su permissions, which I click allow and tell it to remember, but it still gives me the same error. After a phone reboot, it goes back to sticking on the 'asking for root access' screen.
I used Rootchecker to check my access, it tells me Busybox is installed correctly and that I have root access. Juice Defender continues to work fine as well in the areas requiring root access, as do the adblock programs
I have no idea at all what to do! Please help…
Keiron
Try this...
I just checked mine and everything works fine. I would try deleting Titanium and then re-install it and see if that helps, or try going into SU and erase Titanium's permissions and then try to run it again so it has to ask for superuser access again.
Hope that helps
Solved
just sorted it... Seems it was an app called application protect, didn't like the update. Disabled it and all good now. I had it set to ask for pattern logo password on su access... Worked before, not after...

SU binary update failure??

Hi guys, i am wondering if anyone have been successful updating their superuser binary files?
My NT is rooted, and i have installed busybox through the android market busybox installer. However I keep getting a message on my NT's notification bar that my SU binary is out of date, but when i go into SU to do a binary update, it show failure to update. So far this has not cause me any issues, but it is annoying that the message keep showing up after every once a while.
Has anyone been successful running the SU binary update on their NT? if so can you share your experience on how you done it?
Thank you.
Uninstall superuser, install it back from market immediately and you should be good to go. At least this worked for me.
That doesn't sound safe to do. Doesn't android need SU permission to install the SU app. That is why most none rooted device cannot simply install SU from the market to get root...
Please correct my understanding of how root works if i am incorrect.
sideload an updated .apk of SU. It will tell you it's replacing an existing file.
I had this problem and just cleared superuser data to fix it.

How is that done?
Go to the "manage applications" menu, find superuser, and click on clear data. You'll need need something like AppMenu to get to the applications menu.

Superuser clear data..

Have a unlocked and rooted Nexus 7. Everything was working perfectly till I made the stupid move to clear Data on the superuser app. Now I do not seems to have root access. The apps that require root access does not work now. The Superuser prompt does not appear either..
What have I done and what do I need to do now?...
Go to the superuser app, swipe right and tap 'update su binary'. Then open root apps and see if they ask for permission. Clearing data of superuser app normally doesn't cause anything other than losing the list of permitted apps.

Trouble with Kingo Superuser on Lenovo K910l. Please help!

I tried to root my Lenovo K910l using Kingo Root (yes I am a noob). The app could not root the phone but it ended up installing an app 'superuser'. Now this app won't uninstall. When I open this app it shows the phone is "not rooted" and asks me to "root" now. When I tap the link, it asks me to download Kingo Root app which again fails to root the phone. This app has taken over the control of the phone and I want to remove it, but no success. I have tried to factory reset and even formatted the phone but to no avail. The phone isn't even booting up in normal recovery which I suspect is due to this superuser app. I am thoroughly confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
try these
1. trying to root any other app and get the root permission for rom tool box lite. (install this app from play store). now open this app and you can easily uninstall any app.
2. thats not work? search with malware using any antivirus app. this superuser is the one of the type malware. then you can find and erase with the app
3. full format with sd card and internal memory or install new update frimware using official site :good:
Thanks for the suggestions, but I tried to root it again with the PC app, and then tried to uninstall it later. That somehow worked. But unfortunately I ended up with my phone unrooted again and in the process my phone is still not booting up in recovery mode and I can no longer see it or access it through my PC.
