[Q] 58 Baseband - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wanted to know if I have a x10 version A, if I put Baseband 58 it can change something in the device?
It will change anything?

What version of se firmware do u have on your phone at the moment?

2.2.1 froyo_Achotjan_V02

I wouldn't change the baseband unless you are having a issue with it. Why do you want to change it?
When I changed my baseband through flashtool, it didn't delete any data. So I just had to flash the new ROM.
The baseband itself might change performance or battery stuff. And the baseband number. That's about it. I hope this helps.

I want to change the baseband
Because in the rom Guide says this version is the most recommended

It will not change anything. Changing the baseband doesnt change your hardware. The X10i BBs work the same on X10a so go ahead. I myself am on .58 with my X10a (though it does say X10i in my info now but theres no other difference).

You were pretty much right on the money. The radio performance and battery efficiency might be better with newer BBs. Your post was just a little over cautious in tone. While there may be no real reason to go from 54 to 58 I was just highlighting there's no reason not to either.

Ok thanks guys for your help
Help me a lot

I just switched from bb52 to bb58 cos it was compatible with wolf's rom.
Found that the signal has increased...slightly...
But after like 5 times of battery calliberation the battery seems worse.

is it possible to change base band without using PC

What's the best baseband for the X10i with 2.1.A.0.435?
The stock 2.1.54 or the latest 2.1.58?

58 is the newest and generally speaking then newer ones have better radio performance and battery efficiency but it doesn't really matter.

I think so. The majority of people thought it sucked anyways. Plus it was a Huuuuge battery drain.

What's up with the meXperia rom for G2 and desire Z

Possibility or no?

Why port an Xperia based ROM from another phone back to Xperia? that ROM is a port of the Xperia and we already have ported ARC ROMs.

[Q] ROM inquiry Xperia X10??

Hi,
Im looking for a ROM with the current requirements:
1) It should look as stock as possible (no visual mods) either stock or AOSP [kindly no 2.3]
2) Easily upgradeable
3) Support droid wall (VERY IMPORTANT)
4) A stable release no bugs or issues wit camera or anything
i have been looking around n hav no idea wat these roms look like and wat are the issues... PLEEZ help me find one.. gimme a name and the details and ill search the rest..
Im currently running
Baseband 2.1.54
Build Number 2.1.A.0.435
Kernel Version 2.6.29
rooted:yes
recovery type: xrecovery
firmware version: 2.1-update1
Pleez help.. eagerly waitin...
ok it should most importantly be STABLE and iptable/netfilter support and decent score on performance
I suggest you try Free
X10. It's the most standard Froyo ROM I think.
does it support droidwall???

Wait a minute.. u think??... no i need to be sure.. thanks anyways..
Ew Jet ROM stock. Excellent battery. For you, yes.
Camera. Yes. App2Sd, NO.
Droid wall, use anti-virus.
Or try free x10 but its camera is ****ty like all custom ROMS

I used it for some time as my daily and camera was fine. I know there is also a modded camera.apk somewhere. It's even better then the default one on Free X10.
Kxhawkins high performance SE ROM 2.1 is one that looks like stock. It may take some looking for it though under the x10 development section. Or use the search function.

No visual mods other than supercircle battery in notification bar. No hacky tweaks or unstable mods. For ASOP, you need FreeX10. For performance and stability, Wolfbreak CM6. For pure CyanogenMod, kx10 CM6. For "pretty", TRIPNMIUI. For bleeding edge, FreeXperia CM7.

None. Our kernel doesn't support iptables so no droidwall for now on any ROM. The devs are working on custom kernels and implementing droidwall but its not there yet.

[Q] Rom/Kernel with the smallest Memory Footrint

I've experimented with quite a few roms but have finally decided that I want to settle down with the "lite-est". What is the lite-est one out there? I'm focusing on memory footprint really.
i cant say this is the 'smallest' ROM but i suggest it, the DonutHD rom is nice, i know it isnt the smallest, if your in such need maybe wolfs gaming rom, as for kernel try doomkernels or stick with the stock se kernel
Xperia x10
DonutHD
SE kernel

^ indeed you cant, although my X10 did struggle a bit with DoomKernel ulbl and any wolf rom but still, the ROM is small, minimalistic, but yet brilliant on battery and speed at the same time, and its kick ass for playing games
The good thing about it is that it's close to stock, so you won't have to find everything again =D
If you want something that is more appealing to your eye, try ThJap's rom (also quite fast), TEAM or even DonutHD as someone else has mentioned.

FYI .71 baseband is the only one which works with GB(2.3.x) roms. No other will work with GB
You're looking for something particular? Or any post that you've checked which mention other baseband?

All water sticker are white. I'm know running Feralab rom with all the fera stuff. Is working ok until i start watchin netflix and wlod say hi to me.
I had many issues with feras roms
It's device related I think
Keep trying different roms until you find the right setup for yourself
Achotjans Lite by tof / achotjan is really light
Once supercharged, gaming seems awesome @1075 using ferakernel in my Sig
Just a few issues with mms and a few other things
Patches are available for most problems but it's all about testing to meet your needs
Unfortunately not every Rom is for everyone as we cannot make it to everyone's taste, just add-on packs with selective add-ons
