Are you trying to use J's rom? Just use flashtool and get the Baseband from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11471868#post11471868 then flash the custom kernel in recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1027111

hhh Thanks, But it didnt work.

eh i gess the dos prog u are usein it pre rom crypto
and is the phone workin ok

Here's how you make Flashtool work on a Win7 x64 machine, because I had the same problem myself a while ago.
First off, uninstall the Java Runtime Environment of x64 variety.
Secondly, go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html and download the i586 version of the Java Runtime Environment (you do NOT want the x64 version, or the Intel Itanium. Get the Windows x86 version). Install that, and you should be able to run what you need.
Next, do a complete backup of your phone (I use XRecovery => Backup and Restore => Backup - takes about 5 mins).
Then, you go and download the FlashTool from The FlashTool Thread and the baseband from The BaseBand Collection Thread. Put the baseband .ftf file in the FlashTool\firmwares folder, hit FLASH. On the left side of the window that pops up (once you're in recovery mode), choose the Baseband firmware file. On the right side, select ALL of the files there. You must choose them all, or else it won't work.
Hopefully that will help you. If not, drop me a PM and I'll try and help more.

i think flashtool only supports windows 7 32bit... try flashing the baseband in 32bit

Flashtool works on the x64 versions of windows, but you need the x86 Java Runtime Environment.

I have both x86 and x64 JRE installed, But im still getting the same error message, regardless what option I choice 3 or 4..
EDIT: Im using an intel CPU not AMD

Best thing is to follow the guide in cm7 rom.. bb 52 is included.
To enter bootloader mode, first switchoff mobile with no datacable connected... wait then press back button hold it and then connect cable. Thats it....

[HELP] Getting PC To Recognize My adb Device!!

I've tried everything. IT WILL NOT recognize my phone.
When trying to install the drivers it says the Authenticode does not have permission. I got the damn drivers directly from Android.com but it still doesn't think its authentic. Because of this, o cannot get the computer to recognize it as an adb device to root the phone.
I'm going nuts now. 2 days with literally 8 to 10 hours of trying with no success.
Can someone please please PLEASE help me?
I was having the same issue. Install PDAnet. Works like a charm. The program installs the drivers for you. You can uninstall the program after you get the drivers working if you'd like.

I had the same issue, turned out it was a hardware bug.
I sent it to the repair center at HTC in United Kingdom and i had it returned 5-6 days after, working and with locked bootloader

Vista.
I've tried a few of those suggestions and non of worked. Most involved the bcedit trick but its disabled or doesn't exist in the newer security updates.
Vista 32 bits or Vista 64bits ?
in hardware management console what do you see ? yellow question mark ?
Sometimes you need to go in it and find your device to check the HID number and copy it manually in the driver *..inf files to be detect by your OS.
I remembered doing this for my G1 long time ago (years).
If you can, get your hands on another n1 or android device to see if its a hardware problem with the phone, which i doubt. Also try a diff OS.

Hope you solve your problem !
In case you have Windows 7 you can try the following.
http://www.killertechtips.com/2009/...gning-in-windows-7-using-group-policy-editor/
Are you installing the usb drivers using the utility in ADB? If not, delete the drivers in hardware manager, and try installing them with the utility.
I had no problems doing this on Vista, but I prefer to use ADB on Linux.

hey .
maybe i´ve got something for you.
download my file here
install the binaries and then reboot (i said you don't have to, but i think in your case it would be better)
EDIT: is the debug function enabled in your device?
OK, after a few hours and still no success with Vista, I went to storage and pulled out my personal PC I built that hasn't run in a few years thanks to corrupt hard drives.
I spent 4 hours repairing and fixing the hard drives and SUCCESS, I got it to detect it on my Windows XP PC.
NOW! Still not working! In the command prompt, it shows adb devices as one connected but still when I do an adb push nothing happens. Just recycles the adb menu....
Any suggestions?
Your first mistake is using a PC that you know is not working properly. Try a known working pc.

Try using a Linux distribution. Saves a lot of time and headache.
or just reinstall your windows. win7 would be better than vista.

How do i update my white dell streak to froyo 2.2?

Can some help me ?
send me links to do it without messing up my phone?
http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=92
it thought ide post this to help others on a few steps that i posted on the other forum on using the great guide/site streakdroid,to take a dell streak, mine is white, from att and go to 2.2 froyo....but was'nt very clear "to me" in a few steps.....so i'm trying to make it easier to understand for some.....
http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=92
this is the qdltool...called "repair tool" http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=15&did=8
....once you download it,and run it,it will create a folder with the qdltool and some files in it,you need to put the other files you download from the download page http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=15 into the qdltool folder"do not unzip the rom .zip folders like 1.6.0"just put them in the qdltool folder as in my pic
this is how i did it.....i downloaded all the files, put them where they needed to go....installed streakdroid 1.6.0 using the qdltool......you need to put the 1.6.0 and recovery and amss image in the same folder as your qdltool is unzipped into.......i also put a copy 1.5.1,1.6.0 and 1.6.1 .zip files in the qdltool folder and also on my sd card, on my sd card to have them to boot into from ....clockwork recovery.... later ,if i wanted to.
you need to make sure you have the qualcomm diagnostic 9002 driver installed right and connected in the qdltool before you run it......watch this video http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=78
you might have to try this sevearal times.....dont worry if its stuck and wont boot.....
alot of people take their phone back when they think its "bricked" when its not....they just freak out,and take it back before trying more options and or being persistant.
you just have to try some different steps....ofcourse all the files, drivers i9nstalled and in right location.......you can use infranview app to take screenshots of how you have your folder setup to post here if you need someone to better help you.....like this

i put a copy of 1.5.1 and 1.6.1 .zip files in just to have a copy of them here, and on my sd card......but you only need the 1.6.0.zip file in to go to 2.2 froyo
mine is the white dell bought at bb a week and a half ago
also if you want to flash the clockwork recovery ,i had problems and stoney73 helped me out here

8.Open a command window and use ‘cd’ to change to the same directory as qdltool.
9.Run: fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img
10.Run: fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn
11.Run: fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
i can open a command window.....i tried pointing it to my folder, but im stumped

ok, have you got Fastboot on your pc? if so, just find it on your pc, and open up a window, then hold left-shift and right click within that window(without actually clicking on an actual file), and click on open command line(or similar) then just type in the instructions, which look to be correct.
if you dont have the android SDK installed:http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
download and install the one that is pertinent to your operating system. install it directly on C drive. then open it up, doubleclick tools, and without clicking on any files, hold in left shift and right-click, andchoose 'open command line here', then type in the commands you had in your post. Hope it helps."

Yes qdl is the best method. Trickiest part is getting the pc to recognize the qualcomm driver but its not difficiult if u follow instructions.
Also if youre not looking for root and only want official 2.2, you dont have to go past qdl and mess with streakdroid/amss/recovery...u should be good to go once qdl succeeds.

You can try edit your build.prop and disable setup function.
But make backup. For editing you can use file managers or some apps.

Fastboot help
Which OS you are using ... just keep the windows update on the drivers will be downloaded automatically .. Get some more details of your computer
It seems you have driver problem.
try 'fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version'
if it returns something like 0,3 it means drivers are installed correctly.
if stucks on waiting for device, reinstall drivers =)

I had a similiar problem, though not the same. It was fixed after a reboot of my Windows 7 x64. I think my computer had problems dealing with the USB being connected and disconnected an awful lot. I have no idea if this is where your problem comes from, but it might help if you're like me and prefer leaving your computer on at all times.
Also, if you're quite new to rooting and flashing, and aren't that interested in learning the ins and outs of it, I recomend using Flashtool [1] for flashing to an earlier version of stock Android, rooting your Android, easy booting in fastmode and flashing your kernel. The only use I've found for fastboot.exe is to unlock your bootloader [2] (official guide by Sony Mobile), though I might be missing out on something (while I actually do not believe I have).
Please keep us posted.
As I'm a new member, I can't link directly to outside sites, but I'm going to break that rule to try and help you even further (ie. I did the Googling for you). Replace the spaces below with periods. Links:

thanks but actually i have unlocked bootloader.. and i have some xperience because i had x8 and i have tweaked it full
Had similar problem!
First couldn't get into fastboot, had problem installing S1 driver. Changed the USB port on my PC and it asked to install the S1 again. Chose the directory where it was and voila.
Now I have to use 2 different USB port for fast boot and flashmode. Little annoying but I got used to it.
Try it, it may work for you.
Reinstalling Windows should be your last step, especially a stable OS as Win 7!
P.s. Why don't you use Flashtool? In it's newer version there's a *.exe (under drivers folder) file that automatically install all needed drivers.

Download it from official Ubuntu site:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/11.10/ubuntu-11.10-desktop-i386.iso.torrent
Sorry, I cannot post, because it is warez... Use Google.
At the end you will see something like this:
great
GREAT
the whole deal went without a hitch.. i chose to simply install mint linux onto a seperate partition of my hard drive and i used the 64bit version as theres nothing here that would make any difference to the process.
brilliant tutorial and great rom development - its like a one stop shop to get the lumia to a point where it becomes a decent device
thanks very much indeed.
How to get activation code for Windows Live
How to get activation code for Windows Live
1. Download DPP by ultrashot
2. Create new folder. Then put files: stock.nb and os-new.nb and DppImplant.exe
3. Run DppImpant.exe.
4. Done!
If you have not stock.nb
Make Backup of 9 section:
Code:
sudo dd if=/dev/sd[COLOR="Red"]X[/COLOR]9 of=~/stock.nb
Wher X is drive detected by your Linux
P.S. You must do it before flashing with custom ROM!

Please make the DppImplant tutorial more noob-friendly
Thanks for the awesome guide!
I have a Nokia Lumia 800 which is Locked to O2 UK, and I cannot use any Local Sim Cards. Am I in the right Thread ? Can I unlock my Phone to use with any operator and Sim card using this guide?
I dont seem to get this inter-op unlock and Dev unlock Variations.
Thank you !
Sorry but i seriously don't see the need to download a pirated copy of VMWare and use it to run ubuntu. I did all this and it took about an hour to get ubuntu up and running in non gui mode, the GUI mode never worked at all even after an hour.
Just download ubuntu, boot it using a cd or a usb drive and chose "Test before installation" option and you'll boot straight into ubuntu. Use it to unlock your lumia and shut it down. This way you wont have to install ubuntu nor have a separate partition for it.
Good guide otherwise, thanks.
