rooting?

Hey guys, I got the g1 when it first came out, and i rooted it after having it for about 6 months i think, well i've had the vibrant for about 3 months now, and i'm starting to wonder if i should root? I was wondering if there's a list somewhere that says what a rooted vibrant can do? or if one of you amazing people would just make up a list real quick. I know the reason i rooted the g1 was to get multi touch, tethering, and apps to sd. Since the vibrant does all that, and has the 16 gb internal, i was wondering what the draw is to root the vibrant...thanks guys.

Well if the vibrant the way it is, is working out for you then there is no point rooting. If you need more from your device like wireless tethering, make full backups of your phone incase tmobile comes up with another OTA update and bricks your phone or you want to remove some of the bloatware like Avatar or Media hub. Then head over to the Development section, start reading through the Vibrant Bible.
Hope this helps.
Check the sticky. I show how easy it is, what you can do and how to make the phone faster.
That would really set him back if he wanted to go back to fusion. I lost root when I odin ji6. Minor inconvenience.
Just unlock your phone man.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit?

Quick question: for those of you who have gone ahead and downloaded the required 350mb of additional content, is it a full version or just a demo? I've heard good things about the game, but I don't want to waste 350mb of space for just a demo. Any help would be appreciated - thanks!
demo, and it takes forever to download even on wifi...and i couldn't figure out the handling for the life of me so i deleted it right away lol
It is a demo. It gives you like a 3 mile run. That's it. If they would give a bit more to the demo so I could actually see what the game is about I would buy it.
Ah alright, thanks guys! Saved me from waiting for a 350mb download lol
I saw it wanted 350MB, I canceled and never opened it again lol. Just deleted it today actually.

I like the NFS games, I played shift all the time on my charge.
I can't get that to load in my rezound for some reason which really pisses me off as I paid for it.
I don't like Pursuit as much but since the demo worked pretty well I decided to buy it. After I bought it, it would never DL. the DL kept timing out and failing.
I went back to the market and got a refund before it was too late.

Hot pursuit used to be one of my fav PC games. I am bummed it is just a demo

Wth...
Forgive my rant, but bloat sucks. Bloat that isn't even yours is worse. If they are going to stick us with un-installable apps, .... Damn. Ill stop. But I came from ATT and there was none of this crap to deal with. Just glad we got the root and I have everything taken care of.
Love my Rezound but hate the bloat. So...
I want to remove Hot Pursuit as well but it's uninstallable without root.
I'm tempted to unlock the bootloader and gain root but I'm a little worried about doing it.
My question is, what happens if I unlock the bootloader as detailed at HTCdev and then gain root?
I see posts saying that it will forever show that you've unlocked the bootloader to Verizon techs. Does this void my warranty? Is there a way to restore the bootloader so that techs can't tell?
Does unlocking the bootloader and gaining root do anything to Beats? (I'm not planning on loading a custom ROM -- yet).
Thanks for the info/advice.
Yes, unlocking your bootloader voids your warranty! But if you have insurance who cares.
Hi! I can't play nfshp on my galaxy note with eybee's xxlsz rom... why is that?
It just open then check update after that it go back to home screen

getting back to stock

im thinking about getting a new phone soon and im thinking i may sell my hero to maybe pay off the first few months contract on the new phone whenever i decide to get one. basically what i want to know is how do i get it back to factory settings, the same as when i first got it out the box
EDIT: ok after a bit of thought, ive decided i may keep my hero so i can play around with custom roms safe in the knowledge that if anything goes wrong then it won't really matter. Thank you to anyone that replied though
Put ICS on it and sell it for the double prize xD
I did a nandroid of my stock Rom and stored it on my computer, do you know if you have a backup laying around

Does switching to prepadi/stragh talk change anything?

I swill have an ATT phone but switched to straight talk cause ATT sucks more than anything I've know. I'm just wondering if this wil change the ability to updae anything?
I've been getting reminders to update to 4.5.145 but not sure if its needed, and I sure dont want to have to root and unlock again or lose anything like webtop.
Also heard there is a new webtop with this? its not 3.0 is it? I hope I can use webtop2sd to keep my old one

If you don't want to update then don't, just ignore the reminders or freeze the updater. You won't be missing much.

[Q] Galaxy s5 Active AT&T Unroot, Returning to store for a regular s5... help please?

[Q] Galaxy s5 Active AT&T Unroot, Returning to store for a regular s5... help please?
First off, Just wanted to say hello and thanks to all you pros out there helping out us noobs... This is my second rooted phone, had a rooted s3 and bricked it trying to install Cyanogenmod rom, but this time ive done my homework and sucessfully towelrooted, use Supersu, safestrap (which is awesome btw!) deleted all the bloatware w/ titanium backup, and use xposed framework! So fun
But Im thinking of returning my active for a regular s5 because it keeps turning on in my pocket and it has the same exact waterproofing as the regular s5, salesman said it was water proof to 6 ft instead of the 3ft for the s5 which i now know is bull****...
Anyways, I need to uninstall xpose and safestrap, then restore bloatware with titanium backup, unfix write 2 sd card file thing (forget the name of it) then all i need to do is unroot through Supersu and do a factory reset and it should be back to stock, right?
I checked and knox is still 0x0 so AT&T should take it back still and trade me a regular s5? Thats all i need to do? Got mine 4 days ago and i think i have 14 days to exchange phones.
Second question, once I have the regular s5, can I use my safestrap backup and the titanium backup apps and system restore data? I know the active has some different bloatware and has no fingerprint scanner and has that actie button so I think the answer is no. But just wanted to double check with the pros
Thanks for any help.
One more question...
Does anyone know anyway, like through an xposed module or something, to add a Mobile Data toggle in the notification bar?
I heard lots of modules that can do that dont work good with touchwiz for 4.4.2 or atleast for Galaxy s5 AT&T...
Thats like the only think like I need to do and ill be super stoked on my modded s5. Only have 2 gb of data per month so i need to keep an eye on my mobilr data but need a quick way to turn it on to get any group or mms texts...
Thanks for any help/ comments...
Sorry if i posted these in the wrong place, first time poster here
