Could we image a module that can caps fps to 33 when screen off. And uncap when screen on ?
And why does the fps uncap affect battery when phone is supposed to sleep ?

That is a very good question.
I have no idea why..
the real reason for capping x10 is to prevent heat and battery usage.you must understand your homescreen is a GUI so it uses your cpu as a graphic renderer and if the cap is removed the fps shoots to higher level using more battery!
Yes I know... but when the phone sleep and screen off... nothing is drawn on screen... it shouldn't consume more power ?

If the screen is off it is displaying 0 fps so it doesn't drain anymore battery when there's nothing displayed. Common sense, come on. lol

If that is true then why does it effect the battery in standby when the screen is off?

Am I the only one who finds this still a bit of an issue. Its much better than before but I still get some lag issues and unresponsiveness if my phone sits for a while. Takes an extra swipe sometimes. Its very annoying seeing as its one of the most basic functions of the phone. Both answering a call and just waking out the phone for other reasons.

same for me....(
All and any lock screen lag has completely disappeared from my phone.... it's beautiful.
It does have the side effect of the battery life sucking again though.

Any fix?

+1 if somebody finds one.
Some people say by changing the cpu settings it fixes it.. But from what i have read is its going into deep sleep and takes 1sec to wake then 1sec to turn backlight on.. Maybe if somwone can change the backlight delay.. Probly the only real fix..

I saw it through logcat that it takes around 1 sec to set backlight brightness to intended level .

Will logcat point out which lines of which files to change that value? I do believe it can be fixed.

Set_backlight_brightness I think . I don't know

bump...........
I think thats because the phone is in deep sleep... When i have keeping minimum freq of cpu at 245 Mhz it was better and faster unlocking screen... But when Im at deep sleep while screen is locket it takes less than 1 sec to unlock it... When it was at 245 it was unlocked at the same moment when pushing the button... but now I have problem with the disabling falling at the deep sleep... must make a new topic at general...
Just played around with setcpu a little bit, and didn't see any differences with different governors and min frequencies, in my case even if it's running at 800 MHz it takes 2 seconds to get backlight on. I agree about the backlight brightness not being set to the right level because i can already see the clock after ~1 sec even though the display is still mostly black.
Has anybody tryed using the backlight settings from froyo..

i can try but i dont know how to set they ? maybe u know?
and BUMP this topic ! that playing on my nerves !
bump, anyone know how to use froyo backlight settings?
I was yesterday testing this problem on 3 different roms 2.2.1 and 2x 2.3.x and its true that froyo is unlocking in a part of second but ginger needs more than 1 second... I also tested because of this cpu speed while phone is locked... In case of charging there is no deep sleep under 122Mhz but if not phone is chargit it goes automaticaly under 122MHz into deep sleep so I think that problem is there... Even the reactions of phone after unlocking are very poor while all aps are waking up from sleep to... So if anybody can put these setings from froyo to ginger it will be great!!! Or if anybody can tell how to disable falling into deep sleep in stock ginger roms...

Lag as in delay between pressing a wake button and when screen finally lights up. Yes, you still have it.
hey guys i think slaid480 had same problem but when he flashed ddkq firmware.it fixed his problem try ddkq firmware.

After 2 hours standby there is no lag, usually I charge overnight but I will try and leave it on, to test it but I think there is none.
will report back

I have a few issues on my X10..
1. The in call volume is too low.. When I'm outside I can't hear a word the other person is saying.. Is there an app to fix this?
2. Battery takes ages to charge up.. Sometimes around 8-10 hours!! Plus it hardly runs for around 14-16 hours.. Any fix?
3. I feel my phone is not smooth and stutters and freezes frequently
Any fix?
I'm on 2.3.3 wolfs break btw.

1. Try DooMKernel.
2. Use the stock SE wall charger.
3. Overclock.
1. How to install doom kernel?
2. Ok. But the phone still uses up the battery very quickly..
3. Again won't over clocking use up more of my battery?

You can search for doom kernel in xda.
Overclocking will consume more battery. If you don't have buge apps running, underclock it.... But again ubderclocking gives instability.
Ti make the phone charge faster put it in cool temperature zone, like under direct air conditioner or over an ice pack. But remember not to let the temperature fall below 33degree Celsius, else it will moisten your pcb.
Use ac charger instead of usb
CheersS!

you should also be aware that using a custom kernel(for improved in call volume) your battery will drain a little faster.
As some people claim with different roms that they get no lockscreen lag with gingerbread and yet others who are on the same rom have lag. Is it dependent on the baseband possibly as that and the kernel are the only possible differences causing the lag. Or is the no lag lockscreen just an urban myth? Thanks

There's no lag. The phone turns on as soon as you push the button. Its the back light thats delayed.

Hey, so I have a problem I just can't figure out:
When I unlock my screen, if the slider lags, when it unlocks the phone becomes slugish and slow, and I have to lock and slide it slow so it doesn't lags so the phone stays normal. Sometimes it doesn't lags the slider, and even if it lags, after like 30 seconds the phone become normal again.
But I don't want "lock again" the phone, or slide it slow so it doesnt lag, I want to have this problem solver. Any of you guys know how?
Please, if you don't know what is causing this and you are just a troll, don't bother in this thread, thanks
Using Rooted phone, CF Root b84 FIX and I think it's just that.
That's because the frequency is too low when waking up from deep sleep. It is a normal condition. Just set your minimum frequency higher and the lag should have gone.
This was sent from my Galaxy Ace, but who cares?

Are you 100% sure on that?
So and how can I change that without having a program always running on the background like setCPU?
Download any of the app which can adjust the clocked frequency

Use No frills CPU control or SetCpu if u r on stock.
If u r on CM7.x then there are overclockin options in CyanogenMOD settings. Search them a bit, I dont remember the correct name and am using stock based Rom these dayz

As you saw some posts earlier, I don't want to have a program running just to keep my CPU settings. I was looking from some program that doesn't needs to be running to keep the deep sleep setting.
