[Q] Baseband - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
have someone info about using baseband 2.1.55 on the X10i.
My original bb in the phone was 2.1.55, but on the XDA is writing - baseband 2.1.55 is only for X10a.
And pleas, have someone experience with using baseband 2.1.58 in Evrope/Czech Republic/Slovak Republic/Germany/Poland? I think - my phone have better signal on the bb 2.1.54 and better communications with using wifi and GPS as the bb 2.1.58.

Doesn't matter that much. I did not feel any difference until there was rumors that .58 was better.

I have next bad experience with baseband x.58. Faster battery drain down. I tested it within two charging and similar situation.

Whatever I flashed on my phone works fine, I would just prefer to have a north American firmware, I might be using one I don't know how to check. Also is the reason I can't charge apps from the market to my wireless bill because my phone is debranded?

In general, GLOBAL GENERIC = X10i, non Americas, WORLD GENERIC = X10a, Americas
Check Settings, About Phone, Model Number. If X10a, then Americas.

baseband .61 and baseband .67 for telstra

hi guys
with the new baseband, i noticed that these are built for x10is, and from what i gathered the rogers update did not update the baseband?
if so is there any performance gains from moving to .61 or .67 for a x10a like mine?
.54 is working the best so far..
any other Aussie testers out there with feedback??
thanks
I cant even flash the new BB to my X10i but as soon as I do I'll let you know
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
i gave .61 a quick try before, but it doesn't seem to be better than .54
just want to know if ti's just me
I installed 2.1.B.0.1 lastnight with bb .67 on EW's V001 and it gave me nice d/l and u/l speed, (2200kbps/1500kbps) but this morning my data dropped in and out alot.
I flashed .54 and .58 and it wasn't as fast as it normally is (tested for about 1/2 hour) so it might of just been bad weather or heavy traffic.
Went back to .67 and it was the same as .54/.58 so I'll give it a day to see how it goes tonight and tomorrow.
*edit.... anyone know the APN settings for optus, i can't recieve mms
You have pm LJE.
thanks guys for the feedback
keep them coming
especially if there are other fellow x10a users out there
edit:AT&T update soon, good news for x10a
Finally flashed new bb to x10i and can definately feel a difference in battery life, touch screen responsiveness and less lag

yeah i agree....
I stuck with the 2.1.B.0.1 but changed from .67, back to .54
.54 is definitely faster here on the Gold Coast

So are you saying here that the AT&T branded firmware/baseband update would be recommended for Australian X10a users? Or just X10a in general and maybe not for us in Australia?
Cheers.
i think in general
but i do know that AT&T uses the same frequency as Telstra, hence there might be better performance compare to a more x10i centric baseband such as .61 or .67
i haven't had time to do speed test so far
i mainly use .65 now to stay compatible with Trip's ROMs

Well if they use the same frequency them I'd have to say that it would have to be best. (I'm actually on three but they use telstra network so out should be okay!)
Cheers!
I have x10 from virgin, but use 3. Have tried alot of diff.basebands nut .54 is the best. I use trip mui rom, 1.02 and 1.08

I heard that the shared frequently between three and telstra would be switch off next year as a apart of telstra building their 4g network
so yeah ... don't rely on it
Anyways anyone tried. 65? I heard there might be a SMS bug...

Agreed - Cannot send sms.
Going to try .67 next
:EDIT:
So I can sms with .67, but it stuffs up the automatic date/time function somehow.... :S It thinks it's 1/1/2010 @ 11AM :-O
What about performance? When I used it I wasn't very convinced of its performance

[Q] Which modem is better in UK for 3 network?

After searching alot here, finishing my cup of coffee i did not find any answer so here i am posting this question.
I had much better signal with my Old phone (SE Xperia X10)
I am using baseband: KF1, KERNEL KG1, BUILD NUMBER JPKG2
I am using middle eastern rom for Arabic and Farsi Support.
Which Modem works better with Three Network UK?
I cannot test them one by one as i dont have access to my PC for 2 days
You need to test them yourself unless somebody has gone to the trouble of testing in the last few days for 3 Network .
But i would try KG2 and KG3 first .
jje
I have, try ke7, as that is best for me. Kg3 is bad for me.

I too am using middle eastern rom for Persian support (jpkf3).
I have noticed that your using ke7 modem with this rom.
Just wondering, did you flash that in Odin? Have you experienced any problems so far?
Also, did you manage to find out if I9100XXKG3 (Android 2.3.4) supports Arabic/Persian at all?
Thanks in advance.
KE7 has been the best one so far and I've tested about 6.
Kpa and lp1 are the best

[Q] Anyone got 2.3.4 update from kies?

Hi, i got the 2.3.4 update from kies about two weeks ago but i was wondering if anyone has seen any difference since i dont see any, its suppose that my talk should have
Video support yet i dont have i did get a new market but not with the firmware update.
Anyone has had the same experience
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Your band version should be KG5 then only you can do voice and video chat..mine is kg5 and its working fine with me..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Yep my baseband version is KG4 so i guess thats why i dont have video support for talk, but is there a way to know what changes came with this formware update? Battery life seems the same, maybe a bit better but i switched to more minimalistoc look so i run less stuff.
Also the baseband version i suppose one day i'll get an update right?

[Q] Help! Galaxy SII on AT&T

I have an international Galaxy S2 and I find that the reception on AT&T is terrible. Plenty of dropped calls and people can't hear me well.
I think it might be a problem with the firmware that I have on it.
Model umber: GT-I9100
Android Version 2.3.4
Baseband version: I9100XXKI1
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XWKI4
Yeah that's quite old.. I'm using AT&T also. I'm using latest cm9. You should upgrade.
Edit: go to the bottom of post and get latest firmware. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Your looking for wlp3 I believe its 4.0.3
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Which firmware are you running? THere are so many firmwares on that page, I don't know which one will run well on ATT.
Im using the latest and having no trouble. At least no problems with dropped calls.
