BAMF Remix timeout? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After flashing to bamf remix 1.6.3. i notice when the screen times out the screen seems to fade instead of turn off. the only way to get it back to normal is to lock then unlock. is anyone else expieriencing somthing like this?

Mine fades dim for a few seconds, and then turns completely off. Are you giving it enough time? I'm also running BAMF Remix.

I have noticed this on some versions of Das BAMF but usually it goes dim within 5 seconds of the display timeout. I wish I could turn this ON as I really like this feature - a display-dim timeout where after x minutes it will go to the lowest brightness till the display timeout is reached. That would be cool.
Sorry, don't have an answer to your problem. Good luck.

Screen Flickers When Turned On

When I enable the passlock on my HD2 (August 1st EnergyROM GTX version), my screen flickers when it comes out of sleep.
If I leave only the lockscreen with no passlock the screen does not flicker. This has all been tested on a fresh ROM install.
Anybody know how to keep the passlock enabled without the screen flicker? It's annoying because it does it during calls too (even though the screen does not go into lock) and it doesn't feel like a smooth wake up.
A solution to this would be much appreciate!
Thanks.

[Q] Screen waking up while plugged (battery life full notification?)

When I leave my galaxy player 5 (international) plugged during the night the screen wakes up at some point which forces me to leave it with the screen down (when I remember), I would guess that happens when the battery full notification comes up.
That anoys me specially because sometimes the screen doesn't seem to follow the screen timeout settings and stays always on. It used to happen in stock froyo and still happens in eryigit gingerbread rom.
Does that happen to anyone else? Any tips?
I have the US version and when it finishes charging the screen stays on for about 3 minutes before turning off (I actually waited to see what would happen). I think it's a bug because my default settings is a minute. Try using different timeouts to see if that solves anything.

[Q] Way to turn off backlight for night reading?

Hey,
I've searched around, haven't found a very good answer for this. I like to read ebooks at night, but the backlight on the screen remains on even if brightness is dimmed as low as possible, and it's way too much for me to be able to fall asleep. On my old phone (windows mobile), I could disable the backlight completely. I did find the setting where the backlight turns off after X seconds, but I can't find a way to manually tell the phone to always keep the backlight off.
Anyone know of an app or setting I can use to do this?
Thanks!

Use the "Screen Filter" app from the market or google play store whichever version you have. It is just what you are looking for I use it all the time.
Tried out the screen filter app last night - it's better than nothing, but it seems to work by adjusting the color temperature of the screen, so the backlight remains on. (I can tell because the 30 second backlight turn off with no activity still happens). Thanks for the suggestion. Any other ideas?
Since our screen is led there technically is no backlight I believe. So color tuning is the closest thing to dimming it. I like voodoo filter a bit more, doesn't distort colors as much to me.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA
Settings > Display > Sleep (Mine is set to 30 seconds). Before it goes to full-on sleep, you can clearly see that the backlight turns off for a few seconds, but the LEDs remain on.
Yea screen filter app is your best bet. Works well for reading/saving battery at night in emergency situation.

Screen filter app is going to be your best option. The samsung Vibrant has an OLED screen so it actually has no back light. The pixels display the color and produce the light.

How to get Smart Stay working?

Ok, so I've found the section in 'Display' and switched Smart Stay on, but it doesn't seem to do anything. The small eye icon never appears on the notification bar, and the function doesn't work. I've noticed that with auto-brightness the screen is pretty much always really dim, and I noticed that smart stay won't work when the room is dim - does the phone think the light's too low and never switches the function on?
Hmm, off to try...
It does state when you activate it that it wont work in low light
Yeah, so perhaps it's the auto-brightness that's at fault? Been in daylight today and with the lights on at home - screen's been dim 90% of the time...
Right i too thought smart stay wasnt working. I too never saw the eye.
BUT... Having played with it some more heres how it works well in my eyes anyway
The eye icon only appears when the light is at the end of its duration setting.
For example i set mine to 15 seconds beacuse i wasnt sure it was working.
So every 15 seconds if your looking at your phone the eye will flicker on.
If its set at a minute you rarely see it as 60 seconds is a pretty long time to look at the screen with out pressing ought.
I hope this makes sense. Just set light time out to 15 secs to see what i mean.

I thought it wasnt working properly since every now and again id spot this icon flashing up and going just as fast as it came on, but i figure, its a battery saving method, so it wouldnt permanetly be tracking your eyes with the camera like the xbox kinect for instance, it comes on for a split second, if it recognises eyes are open and looking it stays on if not it turns off... i tested this, changed screen dim to 15 seconds for test purposes, staired at it whilst on web browser and every 10 seconds the icon flashed up and screen stayed on, closed my eyes counted to 10 and the screen was off

Lock Screen Display Timeout Issue

So, I just exchanged my s6edge for a new unit today because the old one had an issue with tone unevenness and extreme yellowing in certain areas on the screen. Anyway, on my new one when I just click the power button to check the time or notification's, not unlocking the phone or anything like that, the display just sits powered on on the locksreen. doesn't time out or turn off. I have to do it manually. Idk why this is happening all of a sudden as it never happened on the old one or any other phone I've owned for that matter.
Any ideas?
I have exactly same problem. But it is software issue and lock screen timeout depends on normal display timeout. I dont know why it is done like this. Ussualy is lock screen timeout about 8 seconds and it is not depend on normal display timeout.
