How to enable swap? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have imoseyon's lean kernel and in the forum post he said that I should enable swap, but I have no idea how to do that. I have downloaded the tweak zip file as well as the enable swap file, but I don't know how to actually enable it.
I used the terminal to type in Su /data/impartin/swap.sh, but nothing happens.
I am in the special edition kernel and using bamf 1.7.

if you read his kernel thread postings, he provides a link for how to do it.

heres the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021404

Flash Imoseyon's enableswap.zip from recovery. It's posted on his leankernel froyo thread, but not on his AOSP/GB thread (not sure why he didn't post it there, works fine on CM7/GB.)
Here's a link to the zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=568549&d=1302798811

[Q] das bamf in ROM manager?

Hi All,
Possibly a stupid question, but I searched around and couldn't find the answer...
Where is Das Bamf located in ROM manager? There is no download link in the ROM thread (for the latest version, 1.3.2), just says to use CWR. Does it require the paid version? The only ROM providers I see in the manager are Extras, IncPacker, MrBobrowitz, jdlfg, jcase, MIUI, t3hh4xx0r, RetroKid223, and Google Apps. None of these seem to have Das Bamf.
I was able to find Das_BAMF1.3.2_te.zip by manually browsing his site's directory structure (hxxp://adrynalyne.grdlock.net/bamf/roms/themed/Das_BAMF1.3.2_te.zip), but when downloaded, it's only 3kb and is not a valid zip, so I assume that is not correct.
Thanks, all help is appreciated.
I am not completely sure about this and someone can correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe the ROM is available through ROM Manager. If you go to the thread and download the Themed or Non Themed ROM and save it to your SD card, you can then use ROM Manager to flash it. You probably ended up downloading just the Kernel, it's 3MB Also, you may want to wait a bit because 1.4 is supposed to be out today
Thread:

Themed version (has latest kernel and tether fix) (This version will force a data wipe!)

Yea you may have just downloaded the kernel. The Rom is 200+mb I believe. Just download it and save it to your SD card. I the opened ROM manager and rebooted in recovery and then selected flash zip and selected the Rom's zip file.

Wow, somehow I completely missed that in the long list of links, thanks for pointing it out, I feel like an idiot
I was assuming that because I only saw links for the kernels, that the ROM itself was in the manager. Thanks!
By the way, does anyone who's already flashed this ROM have the md5sum for Das_BAMF1.3.2_nte.zip? I like to be on the safe side.
Actually, adrynalyne just posted a few hours ago that 1.4 will be available later today, so I'll probably just wait for that. Anyway, thanks for the help.
Sorry to bring back a dead thread, but I am hoping someone can help me out with this one. In ROM Manager, under DasBamf, it no longer lists any of the ROMS and gives me an error and tells me to contact the ROM Dev. Anyone else witness this or is it just me? Any fix?

It has been recommended not to download the roms from Rom manager, at least at one point, because people were getting bad and corrupted downloads. Just download out of the thread for the Rom you want and flash in recovery

I usually do but I like to atleast be able to see that a new version is available but I guess it's not a give deal anymore now that I have the xda forums application downloaded. Thanks for the responses though. Atleast I know I'm not the only one though which rules out any problems with my phone.

[ROM] joeykrim-original-1.2.0 Odex *Stock Rooted 2.08.651.2* Aug 21st 2011

Goal:
Create a stock ROM with a completely stock system to be customized however the user wants and include developer tools. I run this on my device and wanted to share with any who want.
Requirements:
Root access and NAND unlock is required to load this ROM. If you already have these two things, skip this section!
The best methods to accomplish this:
Root Access and Custom Recovery
Load revolutionary - this will permanently NAND unlock S-OFF and allow a custom recovery to be loaded along with root access. Revolutionary documentation.
Latest Radio Thread
Technical Details:
This ROM gives you the original stock system as a complete template allowing the user full control over customization.
This ROM incorporates the latest software version 2.08.651.2 with some developer applications (root, busybox, eng RUU /xbin tools, flash_image and remount).
Other ROMs require manual deletion of the dalvik cache. This ROM clears dalvik cache automatically.
Developer apps included in /system/xbin: busybox, flash_image, remount shortcut script, and ENG RUU binaries.
Latest Stock Kernel included.
Directions:
Load this ROM onto the root of the sdcard.
Different methods to load the ROM:adb push, mounting sdcard to host computer, downloading directly through the browser on the EVO or through Koush's ROM Manager (available in the Market).
Boot into recovery. A custom recovery with NAND unlocked (for write access) is REQUIRED.
Wipe of /data (referred to as wipe of data/factory reset) is recommended! If you'd prefer not to and feel adventurous, there is a script which can help port 3rd party apps and settings when switching between ROMs, fix_permissions.sh (also included in CWM recovery and on the Market). For more info - Cyanogen's Wiki.
From the custom recovery of your choice, Select Install/Apply .zip and select this ROM .zip file.
Confirm the flash and it print out the details as it loads. The Stock ROM is large. Will take a few minutes to load
Select reboot.
The initial boot when the standard Sprint 4G boot animation appears, will take much longer to load because the davlik cache has been cleared. Give it a few minutes. Once the dalvik-cache has been built, all further boots will be much quicker.
To make sure the ROM was applied successfully, check for root access by using the su command and the prompt should show # instead of $ and Software Version number: 2.08.651.2.

yea, if you reflash this rom, it will reload the stock kernel and clear the wifi issue.
to troubleshoot, after you've loaded this rom and then loaded netarchy's kernel, can you check what kernel version is reported in Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information?

The best way for anyone to help you get to where you want to be is for us to know for sure where exactly you are
I agree your best bet is to switch to Task 14 and if that happens to be your custom ROM already there are more steps to help you get rid of the lag than just the ROM.
If you can't figure which custom ROM you're on, it would be best, IMHO, to start by going to the development section and Task 14 thread.
Hope this helps.

also, what else could i do to get rid of the lag?
settings, about
flash pershoot's kernel if you dont already have it and overclock to 1.2 or 1.4 Ghz
install another launcher
It says
galaxy task 14 slim
And kernel says 2.6.36.3 [email protected] #1
So how do I do all that stuff...can someone give me a quick step by step?
I just downloaded CPU master and set it to on demand but the maximum it goes is 1000.....and so far I haven't noticed Any speed improvements

Use Winrar (windows) or tar with the z option and unpack lib-2636.4.tar.gz
Push any module you desire to /data/local/modules (this is created by the update.zip)
Then, insmod it (you can do this via adb, in a gscript, or on the device in terminal."
I have unzipped it and have the lib folder and more stuff inside...how where do I put it? I can't find the data/local/modules...only data folder and then only .com stuff is in there
I tried running update.zip...from recovery mode but installation was aborted because it coudln't find the file or directory....where can I get it? looks like this update.zip is supposed to create the needed folders
ok...now i have just created those folders and added themodules but I can't insmod them through the adb shell..I can't even see them in the folder I put them in...only the 2.6.36.4-cyanogenmod+ but that wont "insmod"

What's wrong with RC7? I installed it successfully on my phone, and it runs. Can't tell much of a difference though.
Is there something specific installation error that you are running into, or do you have a way to check if the script is running correctly? If I try to run /data/99Supercharger.sh again, it tells me the my phone is already supercharged and to verify that "Ran_Supercharger" exists in /data, which it does.
After installing Balance 3, I see no difference in the Go Launcher. LauncherPro is better than ever, and my battery life is now really good.

I seen no difference at all.
I'm throwing SauROM on it tonight, because I am having other issues too that the rom should fix, I hope. Citrix wants to auto delete the first thing it sees in Active Directory. I don't think my work would appreciate me if I deleted the entire Servers column in AD.
I would love to install this. But.your instructions differ greatly..you suggest a busting install along withal file explorer install.. He suggests script manager.
And there is some question as to which pdt we should be using.
I have a seperate thread with his install instructions linked. I referenced file explorer because i didn't realize u could mount rw. If your THAT confused u should probably not install it.

In not confused. To the contrary, i understand almost wholly. But what isnt clear, is whether his instructions are sufficient or that they work with out note.
Its not clear which version of the script we need...or which set of instructions we should use.
Listing a set of instructions in a note specific forum (ones that differ from those elsewhere) implies that the others wont work on our device....or that something could be easier or go wrong.
Thank you for pointig the supercharger mod out. I was unaware of it. With that said, id still like to install it.
Which PDF do we use?

Anyone tried this on the ICS leak builds?
Super charger us the best mod to improve speeded etc. however this is my second phone that after super charging my phone doesn't shut down all the way. If i power off then plug it in., it reboots. Also wifi constantly looses data connection. Both issues are related to one of the supercharger tweaks just not sure which one is causing it. Maybe home bullet proof.

[Kernel] Stock Kernel with embedded kernel modules

Stock Kernel with embedded .ko modules (package revision 121216)
This is a modified stock boot.img (original available HERE) that includes unmodified zImage compiled by me from kernel source with all modules embedded inside a single neat boot.img file using realtime injection from boot ramdisk.
This is for International One X+, NOT for AT&T
This means you will get working wifi with any ROM that previously had problems and with no extra flashing/tampering with *.ko files.
Just fastboot the boot.img and you're set.
You can use this package and any of its parts, scripts and ideas inside. Feel free to mention my name
USAGE:
Windows - unzip the package anywhere, use oxp_flash_kernel.bat to flash, follow simple instructions.
Linux/OSX - fastboot flash boot boot.custom.stock.img as usual.

Embedding framework for kernel developers
I'm also releasing the scripts I used to automate the embedding process for other kernel developers to use.
It is pretty simple, but does its job. The sample platform contains stock kernel above.
MAP:
bootimg.base - put your base "boot.img" here
zImage.new - put your desired kernel zImage here
structure.new - contains sample init.rc, elitekernel.sh with deploying script and modules folder for your .ko's . Everything in this folder will go to rootfs.
(you will need to change the init.rc and transfer the script fire block if you change the base img file)
USAGE:
"sh extract" - extracts and primes the base boot.img, do not modify anything outside the 3 folders above, it will get deleted on compile.
"sh compile" - injects modules and scripts into the ramdisk and compiles a new boot.img to new "bootimg.out" folder.
Feel free to modify to suit your envirnment and comment.

Alright thanks. I've been looking everywhere for the stock kernel and can't seem to find it
Maybe a stupid question, but is this still the most recent (updated) stock kernel?
Thanks!
I'm noticing that if I use your stock kernel with Insert Coin 3.7.2 I get 55+ FPS in the OpenGL Antutu Benchmark but if I install any of your experimental kernels I get 2 FPS. Why is this?
Antutu broke it, if you run that benchmark, it will break the CPU scaling badly until you reboot. Don't' ask why, I have no idea.
Thanks for the quick reply. No idea why it doesn't happen on the stock kernel?

...and is Zram enabled in EX6? If so, how do I configure it?
BTW, thanks for your work
