so downloaded the .apk to instal, not working (busybox newest version from market, super user rights also)
in this app are 3 parts of instalation, first and last work 2. gots a red circle and says that it cant be stated.
so i tried it manualy and copied the files via root explorer(sh, chargemon and xrecovery.tar , busybox file). rebootet pushed the back button several times nothing happend -.- just the normal booting.
try the reboot again
now press the back button or the sound button on the rigth side
you say "sh,xrecovery.tar,busybox,carmagon"
i don#t know a sh file
try to install xrecovery with the flashtool
it is here in xda you have to search for it
strange, worked with the flash tool, then updated to version 1.00 via xrecovery but after that not working :/
looks like that version 1.00 is not working well so dont update it
yep switched back,
somehow in the xrecovery menu it says something about x8 recovery tool. ans also i have to take a x8 multitouch file to work.
a lot of things from the x8 work on our device's

Need help installing xRecovery on XPERIA X10 Mini
Hello all,
Seems there isn't much help for newbies here :-(
I browsed all of the relevant parts of the site (I think):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571
https://www.xda-developers.com/android/reboot-x10-into-xrecovery-from-os/#comments
And found these links outside xda-developers:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-ha...2488-xrecovery-nandroid-auf-dem-x10-mini.html
http://www.mobil-talk.de/android-fa...ecovery-nandroid-auf-dem-x10-mini-nutzen.html
I used the German-language page (http://www.mobil-talk.de/android-fa...ecovery-nandroid-auf-dem-x10-mini-nutzen.html) to install the files, as I'm too stingy too shell out for the applications people here seem to need to install a system tool on their phones...
There are a few things that confuse me greatly, however:
1) What is the version of xRecover (or xrecover-x10mini) that we are supposed to be installing on our phones
2) What is the impact of busybox on the process (current version from the Market installs as /system/xbin/busybox, not as /system/bin/busybox as xRecovery seems to want; I know the chargemon script has /system/bin/busybox hardcoded)
3) What is the correct button to press at boot time of the phone to get into the xRecover application?
I installed several versions of the software I found through this site:
xRecovery-minipro-0.1.1-beta.tar.bz2
xrecovery_signed.apk
Neither of those seems to work on my XPERIA X10 Mini, and I have tried the back, volume up and volume down buttons, and I have tried to change the event from event0 to event1.
I am just trying to install the CyanogenMod 6 ROMs on my phone and am getting very disappointed with the entire process. If and when I do get it to work, I shall attempt to write my experiences down so others might have an easier time than I had.
Despite all the groveling, I do appreciate the community's efforts to make all of this work. I hope I can do my bit to document it better or to help iron out some inconsistencies.
Regards
looks like my problem
for me installing with the flash tool worked. (so just download flash tool and klick the xrecovery button =) )
after that i could copy the new custom rom files to the sd card and install them with xrecovery.
just push the back button all the time while booting repeatly when you got xrecovery succesful installed it should work
I know there are threads like this out there, but none of them fitted my questions...
Hi,
in this post, seo posted some ported sense 3.0 apps and widgets for Sense 2.1 GB roms.
I tried to install some of them and got MMS to work.
Then tried to get Rosie and widgets, but they wouldn't install directly, so i started playing around with ADB.
i think adb is fully set up, i am able to pull apks from /system/app.
problem is, i am obviously unable to push, install or uninstall system apps via
adb push
adb install
adb uninstall.
this was when i tried remounting (with remount,rw etc.) and was able to "rip off" rosie.apk (i know it worked as it wasn't there anymore later on ) but still was unable to install apps (with the effect i hadn't got a launcher at all.)
latest step was creating a signed update.zip, didn't work, recovery just restarts.
anyone help? someone got experience which may help me? i went through about 10 or 20 guides and am kind of desperate right now as things just dont work
thanks

Pull me a recovery.log when you try installing the zip, and I'll have a look for you.

S.O.D. proudly presents.... recovery.log!
Here it is, i attached my own update.zip (rosie-signed.apk), maybe you could have a look at it as i don't know where the fault may be.
greets SOD
I would already be happy if you managed to solve the update.zip issue (would help me with other updates) but the main prob is adb noch really working, seems like some system part is blocking this?
my hero was originally a t-mobile google g2, created goldcard, rooted, custom recovery, new radio and custom rom.
a few details:
device HTC Hero (T-Mobile Google G2, the black one )
rom Salsasense RC2 (at the moment...)
recovery CWM 2.0.5.7 (think so, but im sure i got the latest)
sd 2gb
ooookay, tried to edit existing salsasense, resulting in non-functional rom rebooting into recovery.
JieeHD may you probably cook Rosie.apk and HtcClockWidget3d.apk in SalsaSense RC2 and upload it just for testing? much better would be to give me the keys to do it myself *still learning*
i tried it but the situation above occured^^ maybe some md5 thingy?

How's your progress going?
I messed around with the files 2 from the treat and they won't flash error 0. Tried to fix that with.different binery and gave me error 7. If you can make at least the king lockscreen with weather app working than you are the man

brick after flashing modified rom.
push to /system/app didnt work.
flashing restarts recovery.
jieehd's tip of single lines for every command doesnt work, same as above.
error 0 = apk is not made for your device/rom, wont install.
error 7.. dunno, think its not matching binary or parsing error.
files from my thread? as post above says one is a log and the other is defect^^
i doubt weather will work as its eating HUGE amount of resources. if u want this lockscreen, maybe try salsasense, has got a 3.0 alike lock...
holidays now, wish good luck in coding would be happy if u found a solution

were can i find HTCG2/hboot/PC10IMG.zip been looking all over for it and its no were to be find
Got some questions.
1. You want WHAT? And what is the purpose?
2. In how far is this related to this topic?
3. If u give us a path to this file, why do u ask where it is? Maybe try dowloAding some random rom (probably some ruu) and do extract & search..
4. Are you really willing to contribute to this topic? I dont see the point of posting this.
5. Obey forum rules. If u have got a question, post it directly in q&a section, not in some random topic or directly explain the connection to the actual topic.
Greets, s.o.d.

i think i'll give it a last try next time wenn i got salsa sense installed and either find a solution instantly or give it up, as noone is willing to support me and i can't do much more with my poor coding skills.
seems like we have to admit that hero's dying and i have to wait for my contract to end so i get a new phone.

Below,I will list the steps I do to setup my webtop,I am using webtop2sd on a 32GB PNY Class 10 card, and used a 2GB Transcend (not sure on class,im sure its old) card to test with, same results with both pretty much,so I think something im doing is causing it to stop working.
What happends when it stops, is it just wont come up anymore. When I plug the phone into my lapdock, I either get a bluebox with an HDMI not found error (I'm assuming from the dock itself), or the red moto logo that just moves around. I would try resetting the phone, and reinstalling the executable through the webtop2sd app, and it still wont launch. This has happened about 5 times so far, I would get it setup how I would want it to be,then it stops working.
So here is what I would do (there is a phone reboot between each step pretty much)
1. Use my PC to partiton the SD card, ~22 GB FAT32 followed by an ~8GB ext3
2. Use webtop2sd to create the webtop, default settings, aside from the missing dock fix, which I only used 2-3 out of the 5 times I ran it
3. Once I am in the new webtop, I would install terminal and synaptic, then reboot.
4. Then I would run the webtop scripts, version 1.4, hitting yes to everything, then a reboot
5. I would check to see if synaptic is installed, the last time i did this, I had to use aptitude to install it.
6. Once I got synaptic up,I would use it to install the xfce4 package. Just about everytime I would go to install it,I would get an error on the "tzdata" package, the only way I could get past it,would be to uninstall tzdata, then most of the time, whatever I would go to install would reinstall it anyway. This does concern me, because when I remove tzdata, it appears to be tied to a critical package, which may be the source of my problem, but I am not sure.
7. Once I would get xfce4 installed,I would add xfdesktop and xfce-panel to the startup list (those may not be the exact package names, there is another thread I reference for that, can't remember atm, nor can I remember the exact name of that startup file, but its on this forum somewhere). I would also comment out the awmdock one and the webtop desktop one as well.
8. I would reboot, and it would actually boot up xfce4 just fine, the only gripe I have,is that I would usually get an error on the trash service needing thunar, when it is already installed. The one time,I was able to install open office, and test out some youtube videos.
9. At about this time, I would reboot my phone to see if it still works, then I would get the "bouncing moto logo of death" on my lapdock screen, and would have to start over.
One other unrelated note, about every other time I would reboot my phone, it would come up saying SIM card not installed, so I would reboot it again to fix the problem. So there were normally 2 reboots when a reboot is required.
So,I guess I would ask a few direct questions about my problem
1. Has anyone else had a problem with the tzdata package? Is there a way around it without uninstalling it?
2. Could the full xfce4 package be breaking the webtop? Do I only need certain packages out of it?
3. Even though I tested this on 2 different SD cards, could my problem be that the files are just getting corrupted on the card? Its pretty consistant though, I canpretty much say "Look,my awesome webtop is now setup how I want it to be, now watch me reboot my phone to see it not work anymore" everytime I go to set it up.
Info on my phone:
Stock firmware, unlocked bootloader, cwm installed (I thought I needed it,but not for webtop2sd) and rooted running latest webtop2sd. I havent messed with the stock webtop on the phone itself, i rather not since I like having it as a backup.
Btw, I am a bit of a linux n00b, I've pretty much just been reading what other people have been doing. Any help would be appreciated, thanx
You sure like to mod the webtop. Lol jk.
I have no issues and I have webtop with the Lapdock with the Ninja ROM. My phone is bootloader unlocked and rooted. I personally think you modded too much if that's possible. If I were you, I would start over and try webtop with stock firmware or a ROM with a fresh sd card. That way you can know if your phone has a hardware issue or if you modded too much. Hope this helps.

I can assure you that your phone is more modded than mine is, since im running stock firmware. What I'm doing is really not that much modding, I'm just trying to get a better interface running on the webtop, which people have posted saying they have the same one working on theirs. Its also not that I can't get it working, its really not hard, just time consuming, I just need to know why it keeps breaking on phone reboots...

I honestly think you should try some of my suggestions. I think starting fresh is your best option. When something doesn't wok right or something goes wrong. Starting fresh can fix your issues.

Have you tried reflashing the phone yet with new firmwares or ROMS?
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
why would I do that when the issue has something to do with the files on the SD card?
webtop2sd copies the webtop files from the phone, to the SD card,so the files on the phone are basically out of the equation at that point. So its not a problem with android, but with the other linux files from webtop on the SD card
Oh ok. Well have you tried an all new sd card yet?

yeah......
I think I fixed it. by finding this little piece of info
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18465066&postcount=3
I believe tzdata has been my problem for he past like 3 days I've been messing with this
It has been running great for the past day. XFCE4 is a large improvement over the standard webtop.
Of course, I ran into another snag, I need to access windows network shares, and Samba doesn't seem to be functioning, specifically, the samba-common package wont install correctly.
This user was able to fix it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19132707&postcount=19
But I have no idea how to fix the read/sym links. Can any linux gurus here explain how that is fixed? Thanx guys!

Yeah his post was kind of light on the details.
What it looks like is that when the /var/lib/dpkg/samba-common.postinst script is run by dpkg --configure -a it calls a program named ucf that in turn wants to run the symbolic link of "readlink" located in /usr/bin.
This is where i got stuck. I am by no means a linux guru.
I tried deleting the symlink to force ucf to use the "readlink" in the path, tried setting the symlink to point to the "readlink" located in /system/bin and in /system/xbin, and set the symlink to the busybox in /system/bin and to the custom busybox webtop2sd uses in /system/etc/webtop2sd but it did not help.
The output of dpkg changed slightly depending on which "readlink" ucf used but still the same error, "readlink: invalid option", and no samba-common.
Btw my busybox is 1.19.3
2.3.5 webtop on sdcard with fixed dependencies
A little help would be appreciated.
I was told on IRC that the actual problem is that the stock kernel does not include CIPs support, which is what is required for connectivity
but I still dont like the fact that samba package is still broken...
I'm using faux123's 0.2.3 kernel though, which might have CIPs support. Its hard to tell from the changelog and features listed in his kernel thread. Btw the 0.2.3 kernel fixes the broken top panel.
I think I'm missing cyttsp_fwloader on my phone. If anyone with an sk17i, and possibly 4.0 / cm9/10 could do a;
Code:
find / -name "cyttsp_fwloader"
for me (in terminal emulator, adb or other means), post the result here, and if the file is found; upload it here!
Background
After flashing the wrong rom for my phone my touch screen stopped working. I have tried a bunch of different things to get it back up; numerous different mods/kernels etc; to no avail. For instance, also wiping the touchscreen drivers etc, even wiping the whole system directory .
Anyway, opening the file hw_config.sh I can see a switch case being run, determining my touch screen driver based on my phone model as specified by the file
/sys/devices/platform/spi_qsd.0/spi0.0/appid
Checking it manually with cat; it seems to be correct!
The two last lines calles two different binaries
cyttsp_fwloader (some arguments, one being the path to a .hex file which I believe is the touch screen driver?)
bq275xx_fwloader
Code:
find / -name "bq275xx_fwloader"
results in hit(s) (have some symlinks due to botbrew-basil)
Code:
find / -name "cyttsp_fwloader"
- nothing!
Hence, I'm led to believe that cyttsp_fwloader is missing from my system.
Who wants a cookie!?
I'm not sure how to best get the attention of someone with an rooted sk17i running cm9 or equivalent who can help me.
I think nobody knows the answer Broo....
Sent from Hubble Telescope
I will try it later and let you know
I'm on sk17i, and I've found "bq275xx_fwloader" in /system/bin. This was on jelly bean.
On my MIUI rom, I've found "bq275xx_fwloader", "cyttsp_fwloader" and "cy8ctma300_fwloader". This is on ics.
I will zip these 3 files and you can flash it through cwm. But it's strange, why should the touchscreen drivers be in bin folder, if every rom has them in bin folder?!
You can download the zip here, but you do this on your own risk, maybe it will be completely destroyed. I don't think so, but only that you know it :good:
Many thanks man! The zip makes it easier to get the stuff over, cool. I'm not sure it matters, but I had to chmod +777 the two files to get them runnable on the device. Now, it seems I was also missing another binary, nvloader if memory serves me right.
I'm trying a few different mods, found a one that gave me back these binaries; I can run hw_config.sh fine now, but still no luck getting the touch to work. So, I have to dig somewhere else; judging from this forums and users similar problems this is not really solved.
Thanks for the help though, much appreciated!

Another user reported the touch would work again after flashing an xperia active rom and the rom for your device again. But I can't promise, maybe your device would brick
any progress?
i have tried flashing the active rom and recieved the following error:
24/002/2012 02:02:05 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_STATIC="IMAGE_ADDRESS_RANGE";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN-block eraseblock mismatch";
I have attached a screenshot of the same as well. If you come up with a guide to replace the touchscreen files via emulator then it would be of immense help. I am pretty sure it is a software problem.
Another thing i noticed when i logged into the service menu>software info
touch firmware version:
"the phone doesnt support firmware version read." <<<<<< aint this fishy? coz the touchscreen aint taking any input i guess :cyclops:
fuel gauge firmware version

Hi I've been looking over the forums on information about this but i cannot find out how to add drivers to a ROM
i don't have a backup of the stock ROM, however i have a ROM in which everything apart from WiFi works ( 5 point touch screen, all hardware buttons, sound, screen)
this Q88 ROM is downloaded from http://lctrading.hk/download/Q88/
i tried the cyanogenmod ROM from ANONFBI
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2343531
and nothing works apart from the wifi driver no touch, no volume buttons
i would like to extract the drivers from the q88 rom and add them to the cyanogenmod rom.
ive never been able to get the camera working its the single front camera it doesnt bother me its not very good
i tried this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189569
however when i load a driver the ported PORTED JB-4.1.1 rom doesnt boot up
i see it has camera drivers but i dont know how to install them
i have attached a LSMOD from the q88 rom
thanks for your help
the g sensor works aswell on the q88 rom
thanks
help
can any one tell me how to find out what driver does what from the LSMOD picture
if i find them
can i just add the driver to C:\Users\user\Desktop\update\system\lib\modules in the cyanongen rom
then change init.d touchscreen file C:\Users\user\Desktop\update\system\etc\init.d/07touchscreen
to the drivers added so that they load?
does each item (touchscreen, hardwarebuttons, camera etc etc) have 1 driver or do they all have multiple?

hi as far as i know there is no way to find out what driver is for what piece of hardware... although normally you can just make educated guesses from experience by looking at the lsmod screenshot from your first post your touchscreen driver is mxc622x BUT if your ts currently does not work then this is the wrongly loaded driver and you need to change this to get the ts working (trial an error)... and as for doing what you describe above i am not sure this will work although i have never tried your method using init.d??
have a read through my other thread an you will see how i do it >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189569
managed to get cyangen working with the touchscreen, was a total nightmare installed wrong cwm n could not mount storage, managed to install correct one after i found out how many partitions i had, after i got cyanogenmod loaded without touch screen then ext-sd got corrupt and wouldnt mount so i had to wait for a card reader to format it, after i got everything working that i needed the internal sd went corrupt, i had to mount it using CMW then full format it.
ive got fpse workin great, its overclocked 1200mhz normal use but 1100mhz with fpse, i also use a app called touch screen digitizer booster which works great aswell, its a great tablet for £45 considering i only use it for fpse, my only problem is cant charge while using otg, might try a few bluetooth dongles
the voluume buttons and camera dont work but i never use them
cheers
