I want to edit update.zip.Such as changing theme, deleting stock apps.I tried aZuZu kitchen but it always sows error when i m going to install my update.zip by xrecovery.Please help me.
after you done ur work,do you sign the update.zip?

so i was working with cyonbread theme and turning it into a tron theme.
I got all my icons i want so far, but am unable to install the apk (all i did was replace files in the current theme and then emailed it to myself, to try and install) but it keeps saying it fails to instal the apk
any help on what i'm doing wrong...

Is it a flashable theme or morph?
If it's morph, the name of the zip has to be EXACTLY the same as the .xml file in the root of the .zip.
it's a theme that you would install like with an apk
this is probably the issue, what xlm file is it? and where can i find the line of code to change the name?
also any good free xlm editors out there?
I have been trying to use uot kitchen, and have cooked up like 4 themes but everytime I try to flash in cwm it gives me a error0 and I have no clue how to fix. any suggestions?

what's the best way to edit a build prob in a rom before you install it? plus would the zip then need to be resigned in anyway before you could install it?

open zip, copy the file, open with wordpad, edit, paste into zip
thanks. does that then need to be signed to load properly without sending into bootloop?
u only need a rooted phone and a file manager with root(superuser) accesss. edit the file as a normal text file. be careful while u do it though. u can brick ur device if u arent!
Hi all...i used this site [http://uot.dakra.lt] to make my own rom.When i
finished all,i put the zip file into my SD and with CWM5 i select "install zip from
SD card"...all works correctly....but,when i reboot the phone,this one dont start
and froze on bootanimation and i must re-install the rom to use it.I thought tht
maybe my phone is not compatible with the update but im not convinced...plis
help me in anyway.
You're not using the framework-res.apk from your current firmware , right ?

do u use stock or cm7 rom?
stock rom...i dislike cm7
then copy files from system/app called system ui.apk
and copy framework-res and tw-framework from system/framework
and upload them dont know what else u could do wrong
Hi all.. i'm really confusing with my apk file.
I've modified and replacing icons to this apk.
when i have finished replacing icons,i try ti resign this apk with zipsigner2 directly from my phone (HTC ARIA CM7 2.3.7).
then i install this signed apk,it's work on my phone,but when i send to other phone then installing this.. it say "application not installed"
can someone help me to resign this apk?
i hope the resigned apk can install and work on other phone

Try this apk, It works on my mobile.
Edit: For some reasons it is a zip file when you download it, rename catfish-Mod-signed.zip to catfish-Mod-signed.apk
