[Q] Do you need to resign Update.zip after removing bloatware? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Do i need to resign update.zip after removing bloatware?

You mean, you unpack the zip, remove some apks and then pack it again as zip? afaik: This won't work.
If you use the nice dsixda kitchen it is quiet simple to make signed packages or even without signing (not recommended as you will need to apply these in a special way, afaik)

No, Actually like just removing APKs directly from the .zip (with WinRAR)

no need. it will work anyway.

cool thanks. but errm installing the titanium version of busybox won't work as its a) 1.6 that does not work with xrec and b) this gets installed primary only in a special titanium backup folder where only titanium uses it. (you can copy it to system but you then will break your xrec install - wont start)

[Q] How to deodex?

How can I deodex my HTC Aria?

Thanks in advance!

All Cyanogenmod ROMs are deodexed, so you don't need to do anything.
It doesn't seem that way, because when I tried to use zdunes patcher, it couldn't find anything and told me my rom was odexed.

In an odexed ROM, there will be a matching odex file for every apk file in /system/app. For example, there will be both Browser.apk and Browser.odex. In a deodexed ROM, the odex files aren't there -- just the apk files. Feel free to check your ROM yourself to verify.
Ah, it seems it's not odexed...
Thanks, but do you have any idea why I can't patch? Do I have to run as administrator?

That is like asking if you have to be rooted. Well, if it requires root (quite likely), then yes, you would have to allow it.

Since I know literally nothing about this "Zdunes' patcher", I really can't help you there.
I'm sorry, but I still don't understand what's wrong.
I'm plugging my phone into my computer, turning on USB storage, running ZDunes Patcher as admin, and it still says my ROM is odexed...

cyanogenmod is fully deodexed. There is some other issue with the utility you are trying to use, and it's not giving you an accurate error message.

CWM Error (Status 0) when flashing customized ROM

I have been cooking a customized ICS ROM using dsixda's kitchen and all I done was deodex the ROM and add some other stuff like bash, nano etc. I then built and signed it. When I attempt to flash it tells me there is an error in the .zip file and displays (status 0). I am guessing I have done something wrong when building the ROM in dsixda's kitchen.
Does anyone know what a status 0 error means in CWM and how I can fix it?

I use dsxda and when i build the rom i use updater script, the ROM was coocked by 0, from system folder and boot.img, any solutions?
The update-binary for mtd type phones from dsixda kitchen no longer run on some new mtd phones. You may try to replace the update binary with other update binary and modify the scripts to mount using busybox and the format partition command should be removed and do the format from cwmr menu.
I´ve got update-binary, update-binary.orig, updater-script, updater-script.orig and update-script
What should i do to fix the status 0 error?
thanks for help

Deoxed a stock ROM

Is there a way to deodex stock ROM without flashing another ROM? Like a batch file script or something? I don't want to leave the stock ROM but need to flash some Mods.

so modded pie libsecure_storage.so and libsecure_storage_jni.so and editing in build.prop to ro.securestorage.support=false
dosent work anymore? on early pie builds that was the fix b4 magisk modules cameout to fix it
so for fun copy the libs manually from within the zip module to system and edit the prop:

Thanks for your work, flashed the rom and all seems just fine. However root seems to be a bit messed up, I can't seem to delete any apps or folders due to the lack of the right permissions and there seems to be no way to change them.

but i think the issue he was explaining is between sustem root and magisk manager. thats why i suggested to reinstall.
or maybe just update magisk manager to a canary build?
anyways im on a n960n so i cant flash the roms system.img due to the fact that partition system size is a bit smaller on n960n compared to n960f

I manually moved the files and edited the build.prop
Firstly, there is no jni files in lib or lib64 folders. Secondly, I replaced the files both in vendor and system and modified the build.prop, went into the system and found a start secure_storage command I replaced it with stop but nothing worked.
Any other link?
