Are you on stock rom or custom ROM.
IF you are on stock rom then you cannot uninstall stock apps.
If you uninstall them somehow then also factory/data reset wont bring them back.

Download the app called 'AppSaver' from the market. It backs up the .apk files of all the apps on your phone and stores them on the SD card. So whatever you do with the phone, the .apks are always there on the SD card and you can install all the apps again, without downloading them from the market.
P.S. the app takes backup of only the .apk and not the data. Eg: If you back up Angry birds, it just backs up the .apk and the levels/scores you achieved would not be backed up.

you can be rooted and still be using the stock rom. in that case, just install titanium backup or root uninstaller, both of which give you the option to uninstall stock apps

Q: Anyway to restore apps with TB without confirmation?

My problem is I have lots of apps about 180 and everytime I do a wipe moving to a new Rom when restoring them with titanim backup i have to click install > wait > then done for each app and restoring takes me over an hour.
Is there anyway to avoid this so they just all restore without my input?

I'm not sure you understand, I am running the latest free version I have USB debugging on and I have working backups created. When I want to restore all of them at once with batch operation as it restores each app it asks me to confirm install then confirm done for every single one, so as its restoring I have to sit there pressing Install/Done over and over again.

With titanium pro, you can install all you backuped apps at once, save a hell lot of time. Cost only one Bacardi Cola. It's simple a must have for rooted phones .

[Q] TwLauncher keeps crashing!! help!!

Hi all.
I was uninstalling unnecessary applications from my phone yesterday using root file delete and it seems I deleted something wrong so now my TwLauncher keeps crashing.
I downloaded another Launcher (which is not a very nice interface) temporarly because I was told that clearing cache from TwLauncher in settings would fix the problem but it did not. TwLauncher still crashing.
I re-installed TwLauncher from a file I found in another posts again it crashed, and tried installing TwLauncher 4.5, after istallation it also keeps crashing!!!
Please help I need TwLauncher to be good again and not crash coz other Launchers suck.
Factory reset. If that doesn't work, re-flash the rom you're currently running.

Go to Settings>Applications>All>TwLauncher
Tap on Force Stop, and then on Clear Data.
You should make backup before you start deleting apps. Never would you get into this situation.

Best post I've seen here this week. Wise words indeed. These phones are essentially mini PC's nowadays, fail to backup regularly at your peril (people who don't backup regularly always seem to be the people who really need them/could have done with one).
Is there any way of doing that without installing a ROM again or doing factory reset???
Even when I install a new TwLauncher 4.5 it still crashes..
any tips?

You lose your apps and messages call logs...

*Sigh* I think you're missing a trick here, you may lose your files/messages but the point is, if you also make a BACKUP of those, it doesn't matter if you do or don't.

for messages u can use 'SMS backup pro' app, and for apps u can use 'Mybackup' or 'Titanium backup' apps (which require root permission though)

1. U can flash complete ROM using Odin and wipe data & dalvik from cwm. (u will loose messages & applications, but it'll work fine after that)
2. Never Uninstall/Install anything unless u are very sure about that. Uninstalling required apps can lead to this.

[Q] Forgot to Back Up Before Installing Custom Rom

Hi to everyone
Yesterday i have installed a custom rom for the first time(pacman rom)But before installing i forgot to backup applications.
Now files belong the applications still exist and occupy space.Since I will install most of those applications already, is there any easy way to reinstall them automatically?Or which files should i delete to get rid of those unnecessery files?
First thing you need is efs Bk up. Have you done this? Titanium Bk up for backing up apps is best app out there. What files are you taking about. Screen shot would help. If its app files when you re add apps it shouldn't make double copys of the files so makes me think there not app files. Screen shot pls

Use SD maid app to delete unnecessary files (corpses)

If the OS version for your custom rom is different to the stock firmware you were on (gb, ics, jb) you need to get rid of those (data) files anyway. If you use them with apps in a different os version it *could* cause instability and app force closures......
Sent from my rooted, de bloated, stock JB powered S2 via PhilZ kernel and XDA developers app
First I will try SD maid, if it doesn't work I will delete them one by one
Just delete and reinstall the apps you want. Sorry about time of reply
Just flash a rom wipe/nuke script via recovery.
Did you Bk up your efs folder? Pacman doesn't auto Bk it up. Use hc ktool to do this. Worry about this folder alot. Lose this and you will have lots of problems. Like no calls texs or data.
Issue
i just installed a rom and forgot to back up the stock rom completly and i want to go back. how would i do this? My phone is the samsung galaxy s3 thru straight talk (sprint towers)
You'd post in the correct forum for starters. This is I9100/SGS2 Q&A.
SD maid and clean master are necessities for all phones IMO..

[Q]Switching to stock from CM

Hi guys, after using CM for more than 2 months on my phone I have decided to go back to stock ROM, but I have a few questions first:
1. Can I install the stock ROM on my phone without a computer?
2. Will, after installing the stock ROM, the root go away?
3. How can I backup the apps I have installed in .apk file format?
4. Does it matter what country's ROM I am installing? For example, I have an S3 bought from Saudi Arabia but I'm living in another country, and it's working fine.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
1. Yes you can. Download mobile odin from play store and download the stock firmware (. Tar) file to your phone. Then launch mobile odin and add file.
2. Yes it will
3. Use titanium backup.
4. It does not matter. But try to flash the one for the country you are living in.

Titanium back up does not back up the apps in apk format. When u restore it however, it will ask u to read thru the permissions one by one and install MANUALLY. Hassle so if most of ur apps are downloaded from google play. Sync ur google account such tat when u flash stock back, all the apps are installed automatically and then go to titanium back up and restore the missing apps and data.

Oops, my bad. But there is the pro version which enables you to back them up into update.zip format, and you can install that zip through recovery.

I'm actually looking for a way to keep the apps with me all the time (when flashing through different ROMs) so I don't have to download them all over again. I guess I'll have to use titanium backup pro to make a zip file instead. Thanks anyways!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
A Nandroid backup and restore data only is one way or Titanium backup pro will restore the lot in about 15 mins and no accepting permissions .
That is for similar build roms .
I have now found a way to backup apps manually. I searched for apk files using a file explorer, and found all the apps installed on my device in apk format. I simply copied the ones I wanted backed up (along with their data folders too, for those who had it) to my external SD card so I can install later when ever I want.
