Need some help, please! - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

I have a X10 mini pro, bought from Vodafone Romania (1238-9055) it's unlocked, they unlocked it for me from when I bought it.
Tried to flash it with : [ROM] Cyanogen Froyo CM6-Latest (based on MiniCM) - v5.0 Final - with xrecovery, didn't quite make it ... because I had the wrong baseband .. ok, changed the baseband + firmware with a italian one, after many many tries. and managed to install Froyo CM6, but lots of stuff didn't work quite as i thought and tried to flash it back, but I got the italian firmware back. Tried to change to 1238-9055 from build.prop, through many ways, but still got the italian firmware. I installed the Froyo CM6 again, and seems to be working better than the first time, but I would like to go back to my old firmware (1238-9055), the vodafone one, just for warranty reasons. Can anyone tell me if that is possible, and how to do it. Or can anyone upload a copy of that rom and I will be greatful (a few beers). Tried different tutorials, but nothing worked and I'm tired, have been awake for 29 hours now, and I'm at work.
Hope to hear from one of you, thanks!

I've never changed mine, this is just something i read.
I think the number has to be changed in two places in build.prop.
Also check if you have a file called cust.prop in /system/etc/cutomization/settings folder and change the number there too.

changed it everywhere in build.prop.
Don't have /system/etc/customization/settings - folder

Ah, yes, you are right, i checked my saved original files and the customisation folder is only on stock rom.
I am on v4.0 of that custom rom from slade and also have only the build.prop file.
I found one file called CDAInfo.txt but I don't know what it does or even when and which rom created it.
You could go back to stock italian rom and change the number in both .prop files. You will have to do a few reboots and then try seus again. Hopefully it will work.
If you have the patience, you could ask slade where else you need to change the number in his rom. But he is very busy so you might have to wait a bit for the answer.

Use seus easy

have u changed build.prop in 2 places to your native number (on stock italian 2.1 rom), and then tried to repair phone with PC Companion? because i was changing back to my original firmware like that, and that worked like charm...
also to be sure, check here if u are using the proper numbers for RO/vodafone

it's not as stable as the one I had, market crashes sometimes :| and reboots.

Rooting Phone

Hey guys,
I have looked all over the forum, and you all have different versions, im guessing im the only knob with a different version from the rest of you. haha
System Information
Model x10I
Firmware Version : 2.1-update1
BaseBand Version : 2.0.46
Kernal Version : 2.6.29 [email protected]#1
Build Number : 2.0.A.0.504
Now i've finaly got the currouge up to try and root this damn phone, but not having any luck following this guide?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908791
That's not just root mate, that's an entire rom.
Look in the android development area, several ways to root. I used x10 flasher to root mine, fw vers 435.
Sent from my X10i
Yeah, I'm going through that now.
I got it to root in the end with a few of hitting the screen, and smashing buttons
Going through that step, then going to install the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947613 Rom,
and i should have everything i need from doing this complete rom install.
hopefully, plus its practice.
Hey baddie,
The new roms need you on the latest baseband, if you update your phone through PC companion first you will be able to update to any rom without any issues.

Hey sorry for the delay in replying was in bed at the time,
Beta 4 is the latest version of freex10 available, I think I remember seeing that you can use the flashtool to get the latest baseband as well, saves you having to go back to the stock 2.1 just to update.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939812 this is by Steve Adams on how to get the new baseband.
In point 4 of his guide follow the link and it will take you to Zdzihu Beta 4.
Everything is in those 2 posts about what you will need to do, but just so you know the way I did it, I was on beta 3 at the time I was jumping back and forth between stock 2.1 and freex10 using xrecovery, I then updated through pc-companion to the latest firmware, then after downloading beta 4 updated the phone and i've been using beta4 every day since.
My only caution (well 2) is when using xrecovery to do the backups they take up quite a bit of space, so just be aware,
2nd and most important always, ALWAYS take a backup. Dump the contents of your memory card to a disk so just incase like me last week if your card is corrupted cause you had it connected to a device that lost power you can just restore it and carry on as if nothing had happened... yeah i didn't do that part caused me no end of headaches as I had lost some text messages that I meant to reply back to, oops.
Saying that, I still haven't taken a backup after gettting it back (smacks own hand)

[PROBLEM SOLVED!] How to fix (No Service) after installing: [ROM] FreeX10 by Zdzihu

Hello,
You are probably reading this because you are having an issue after installing zdzihu's freex10 - beta 4 ROM, that is, you have no network service (you can't make any calls).
I am opening this thread to address this issue, and open up discussion on how to fix this. I have been searching threads for a whole week now, and still have not been able to fix this issue.
I have tried EVERYTHING: opening an adb shell and issuing the "killall servicemanager" command. As well have tried different installation methods.
I have also tried manually entering Roger's APN (access point name), but it won't save....
Everything is working perfectly after the installation (wifi, camera, gps, apps all work) except I can't get any service.
Phone Specs:
Model Number: X10a
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband Version: 2.0.46
Kernel: 2.6.29 ([email protected]#1)
Build Number: 2.0.A.0.504
Carrier: Rogers
UPDATE: I have fixed the problem and currently running freex10 beta 4 with full service. This is how i did it, very simple and easy actually. If you are having the No Service problem, simply do this:
Connect your X10 to SUES (Sony Ericsson Suit)
Repair your device by following the instructions on SEUS
Once you've done that, then go back and get your root access, xrecovery, and do exactly what it says to do on the freex10 thread.
After you've successfully updates to 2.2 again, everything should be working!
If you have any more questions, please ask me, because I have tried everything and finally found it. Good Luck.

Hey A.J,
I haven't used this phone in a while, I've switched to a SGSII. But I found a site that may be able to help you.
http://www.technipages.com/sony-ericsson-xperia-x10-hard-reset.html
Just read all of the instructions first, make sure you have all the software you need, and hopefully it will work for you!
EDIT: I recommend trying option 2 on that site I linked above. I remember that always worked for me whenever I needed to restore back to factory default.
Best of luck,
J

I found another site that may be able to help you. It seems pretty easy and legit.

Just make sure you have PC Companion installed on your computer.
P.S. This will wipe everything on your phone (apps, contacts, everything), but not your SD card.
Oh, and another question. Why do you want to use freex10 anyways? isn't there something else better out there atm? give Cyanogen Mod a try if you can find a stable version!
Let me know if it works.
Sorry bro, didn't work out... the phone working great, but the no network or service same problem, I'm on the stock rom and everything stock but no service, ... and about free-x I don't mind any rom haha, I just wanna see service, thank you so much for your help and for your time, I don't wanna bother you in case you don't have time or some thing bro

[Q] Help needed for a newbie

Hi all,
Sorry if this is the wrong section and has possibly been covered many times before but I am new to this Android stuff and wanted instant answers due to not understanding things covered in posts and threads on the forum.
The phone:
I have a Sony Xperia x10i which was previously on Orange but has now been unlocked. It had Gingerbread 2.3 before but now has been what I assume is "debranded" and is now 2.1 (I dont know what)
The Problem:
I have tried to update via SonyPC companion where it shows "update avaliable" as I go to proceed it fails after clicking the next button (which sometimes comes up hidden in the dialog box)
I want to update the android market app to GooglePlay but due to being stuck on 2.1 it wont allow it unless 2.2 upwards.
Using Google - i typed in the build number which seems to throw back that it is a Greek rom of some kind?
Final note:
I want to keep my phone up to date without destroying the software or installing custom roms, basically keeping it original and simple. I want the latest firmwares etc so that it is all up to date. Also I would like to keep it unlocked without having to shell out to get it unlock again after it has been done once.
Hope someone can help me out. I can answer questions if more info needed.
Many thanks in advance.
(UK using o2 SIM)
I dont know 100% on what to do because im certainly no professional, but in the system phone menu at the bottom does it definatly show Android 2.1?
It says firmware 2.1 -update1 if that means anything?
It needs to mod the build.prop file to set device as global generic one and update with PC companion.
But it requires root first.
Evenit is very strange, almost all of the x10i got 2.3.3 fw.
Or second solution - download 2.3.3 stock fw and flash it via flashtool
Thanks for the reply.
Can you explain a bit better as I dont understand sorry.
Did you mean I have to modify the build somehow?
I thought about the new rom solution but not sure if my device network unlock would still be there after installing new roms. Can someone point me to a simple guide on installing a new rom etc.

You must be sure if what you want first
If you want to install a custom ROM, you will only need to root your device, install recovery and flash whatever ROM you want.
Or you can flash the stock 2.3.3 with Flashtool (thing thats the easiest solution for you) update and decide for custom roms later.
You have X10i rignt? Not X10a yes?
After you will decide what you want will provide further information.

The X10i is version for europe and parts of asia and so on. X10a is mainly from USA and Canada (other GSM module). Also exists SO-01B which is a Japanese version of X10i.

Yes on google play exists app called Root check However it is not so important because we dont need a root at this time.

Everytime someone helps you, hit the "Thanks"button below his post, it will give him more good feelings Its a good habit everywhere here on XDA.
So here we go:
1.) Download the Flashtool form here:
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
2.) Donwload the generic SE WWE 2.3.3 ROM (here from my older post):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26141346&postcount=13
3.) Once complete - extract the file.ftf form ROM archive and place it in Flashtool directory called "firmwares"
4.) Run Flashtool, select Flash, choose Flash Mode (not fastboot) and then follow the onscreen steps
5.) Hint - maybe you will have problems to get your device into the Flash mode, see my post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26135308&postcount=4
Enjoy!
Smashing! I will definately give this a go next week as going away so dont want to screw the phone up before go lol. Will report back when Ive cracked it.

[Q][Mini Pro][Firmware]Last Firmware before ICS available anywhere?

Hello,
I am looking for the last pre ICS firmware for my SK17i. I am currently back on 4.0.2.A.0.42 since ICS was not the best performance wise and the notification LED didn't work (please let's not discuss ICS vs. GB here)
So now I wanted to flash the latest pre-ICS firmware which as far as I know is 4.0.2.A.0.69 (only for germany, but that's where I live). Or 4.0.2.A.0.62 which maybe is easier to find. Now I do know about the !PreRooted 4.0.2.A.0.69 in this thread. However I had quite a few problems with aswell as others described in this thread. Most importantly the flashlight wasn't working at all, the keyboard layout was way off (not just qwerty instead of my german qwertz). I'd really appreciate any help in this matter.
Also: I am a complete newb concerning android but I tried my beast to research this before posting
Thanks,
SM
Keyboard layout depends on the firmware region.
Flashlight problem seems to be related to the baseband, I have heard. Even though I kind of doubt it, but still worth of trying.
If you root your .42, you should be able to update via OTA (it means via WiFi and the app Update Centre) to the last 2.3.4 build without loosing root
Thanks Feanor88! I had only opened the update centre once and it told me everthing was up to date (forgot to refresh/recheck via menu).
Now it show's the international 4.0.2.A.0.62 Upgrade. But if I try to install it it reboots a couple of times and then starts up with the old FW and tells me the install was not possible and I should try again. Which I did with the same outcome. Any Idea what could be the hinderance? I'm rooted with CWM installed, bootloader is locked (never touched it).

CWM is the trouble creator. You will need to come back to stock and then try.

Hello,
Sure i want to help you,it was a lot of searching on the internet,en a lot of "hit and mis" trying
for me this helped me just fine, but maybe other more experiences users do it another way...
First backup everything you dont want to loose.
I have first installed Flashtool 09.9.0 here is a link; http://androxyde.github.com/
then i have searched for the Android gingerbread 2.3 ftf file. (its a bout 250mb big unzipped or 500 mb unzipped)
here a download location where you can download the file: https://rapidshare.com/#!download|271|2005005665|st27i_6.0.B.3.184_CE_ftf.rar|270851
and choose "save file to your computer")
Then put that downloaded file in your flashtool folder (normally this is: c/flashtool/ ...and put it in the folder "firmwire")
Then connect your x peria go with usb connection to your computer.
open flashtool and choose the "flash" icon.
then choose "flash mode" and then normally the right file is already selected ( 'st 27i-60b184 etc...) if not you have to choose it manually
(c/flashtool/firmwire..) then hit the "ok" button and of you go!
Just follow further instructions very secure (be sure you follow it correctly, for example ress volume down button,connect/disconnect the usb cable etc...) if you are doing in nog right it will not work.
I hope it helps you :good:

Thank you very much but another question, is this for the st27i (note the "i") or for the st27a, cause i read that they use different 3g freq, another thing is this global or locked to a specific region? (im in mexico so i want to make sure that it will work) because when i flashed to ics 3g didnt work, and the guy that works for my carrier company made me the favor to change its freq or someting so that the 3g's phone worked but im pretty sure that he wont do it again lol thank you in advance
there's no such problems i used MT15a firmware on my MT15i.... they use the same baseband so dont worry

Hi,
Hmmm that is a trickky question.
I am located in europe (belgium) for me everything works fine, but for mexico i really don't know...
I schould say give it a go...and if it dont work put back android 4.0 (or whatever is on your phone)
putting back android 4 is the same as i described to put android 2.3 back on it with flashtool...
and if im correct you can let the software do that (that came with your phone) from sony itself to get the update to android 4.0

(im in mexico so i want to make sure that it will work) because when i flashed to ics 3g didnt work, and the guy that works for my carrier company made me the favor to change its freq or someting so that the 3g's phone worked but im pretty sure that he wont do it again lol thank you in advance

Hello,
Well i thought my phone was working fine now (and it does)
but like you say my 3 G for internetting also do not work....
At home i go on the internet via Wifi and thats works fin,but today i tested my 3G connection for internetting and indeed it dont work...
You think it is the fault from a wrong ftf file "st27i"?
Hmmmm in dont know what region uses the correct file,so if somebody knows where to find that, feel free to help
But if 3 g dont work overhere in europe the chacne is big it works fine at your place...
EDIT:I just called my provider and it was only a matter of selecting some internet options on my phone.
so that i had no 3G had nothing to do with a bad firmwire from another country.
They think this firmwire should work everywhere, its more a matter op selecting the right options on your phone...
hope this helped...
greetings,
Phil

what were the configurations that you had to do in order to solve 3G's problem?
Wel i went to the website from my operator here in Belgium and for each phone they have put all the correct settings on their site step by step, very easy...
For example my "sony xperia go" it is this page: http://klantenservice.telenet.be/mo.../st27i-xperia-go/internet/handmatig-instellen
then you see on the rightdown side "Volgende" klik there a few times on and you see what steps i had to take to get my ineternet
working with 3G.
Offcourse these settings will maybe nog suit your phone in your country, but then you see what pages you must change to get 3G working.
Only the settings will change but it is the same pages/menu on your phone
Best is to contact your operator and ask what settings must be done
Baseband didnt change
