Qdl repair tool tutorial video??? - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What site has the short video that shows how to do it... I have done it before but I don't remember everything to do
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App

The Streakdroid site is undergoing a remodeling. I have attached the QDLTool tutorial. If asked by DJ_Steve I will remove this.
Download to your local computer, unzip and then open with your browser (Firefox works). It is a flash file (.swf) so you have to have the proper addons to view flash.

thank you for considering using my application. if you would like to post in my thread, that way you will get the most help from those that are following it, or have already done it, that would be most beneficial for you.
however,
if you want me to walk you threw it, you can hop on the irc channel irc.zifnab06.net channel: #erisroothelp and i am almost always there.
or,
just extract the ema_full folder to wherever you want, my app is dynamic and doest care where you put it. then grab the update file that is up there as well, and replace the old application file with the new one. make sure you have .net 4 installed. i have a download for that as well in my thread. grab the drivers download from my thread and extract those to your desktop. then follow the instructions in my thread for installing those drivers for your phone on your pc. after all that is done, then just start up the app. run backup apps, then follow the root steps 1 - 3, and make sure you read and follow all directions.

GingerKrad for 318 only

Attached is a zip file with framework-res.apk and services.odex.
I don't have clockwork or steak recovery loaded at the moment. You can easily copy these files on to your phone in system/framework
1. Make sure to make a backup of your framework-res.apk in same location.
2. Make sure to make a backup of services.odex in the same location.
3. Using root explorer or other app, paste these files into system/framework
Your phone should reboot after a second or two.. Then it should come up with the new theme.
If your phone gets stuck at the dell logo.. Download and install DroidExplorer. Connect your phone to your pc via usb, if you have the right drivers installed you should be able to access the system/framework folder and delete my files and rename your files back. Reboot and if all goes well your back to square one. if not you will have to reflash.
This is only for 318 and will not work on 315 or any other roms that I know of.
I take no responsibility if this bricks your phone, you download as is and chose to load it on to your phone.
Special thanks to Mambo04 for Ginger graphics and battery meter graphics
GingerMixv4 for I9000
Special thanks to Odyseus for modded Services.odex and black status bar
Black Taskbars thread for 318
Hope you like it, like I do.
(If original content owners want this removed, let me know.)

U need to sign the apk and making it in signed zip file something like that else clockworkmod wont read it.... I tried to do it but didnt work..maybe someone with expertise can lead us...

1-) back up the framework and service file
2-) copy the zip contents to system/framework
3-) reboot
Result : Nothing changed.
ROM : Original 2.2 Dell Rom
Tried With : EU Streak 318

What is the file size of your framework and mine?
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
i am using original 2.2 rom and framework-res.apk and system.odex are not in the folder you wrote there ?
the files need to be placed in the system/framework folder.
I think the issue here is that I took that framework-res.apk off of my phone and then altered it. I think it is just signed for my particular phone.
Could also be an issue where you may have to flash using adb and adjust the rights accordingly.
Wish it worked for you guys.
If you want, I can post a zip of what you would need to drag and drop into your own framework-res.apk.
i am connecting with droid explorer and no files in system framework folder if u want i can send screenshot too. i am not a noob bro
not saying that you are a noob.
It takes droidexplorer anywhere from 2-5 minutes to show all files in my framework folder.
I also only use droidexplorer incase of emergency. I like using root explorer directly on the phone to copy and paste over.
mine is faster i think.
i said "i am not a noob" for telling i can do everything what you want.
btw : Scenshot from system/framework folder

Adobe AIR

If you're a masochist and want AIR on your OV, do this:
Download the SDK (google it, it's freely available from Adobe), go looking in the runtimes directory. There should be an android directory, and in there you'll see device and emulator. Install the emulator APK, and AIR apps should be installable via the market.
Of course being Adobe bloatware, it's really, really slow. And, yeah, AIR apps look like **** warmed over, don't integrate at all with the stock Android UI, etc.
Looks like it requires Gingerbread.
This made my day, my week even, probably my entire month. I develop flash apps, and export them to run with AIR, but haven't been able to use them on my Optimus V. But thanks to this I now can.
Thanks soooooo much.

1/ It will NOT help with your browsing.
2/ No, I am NOT using it. I am having hard time uninstalling this junk on PCs where it keeps creeping back with other Adobe stuff.
3/ YES, the method in the OP works.
3/ YES, your spelling definitely sucks big time.
many thanks to doktornotor for this method.
I'm a total noob so it took a little googling for me to figure out your instructions. Figured I'd post my steps here in case anyone is as noobish (nooby?) as me.
First, go to the android marketplace and install "appinstaller" (it's free) if you don't already have it.
Then go to abode.com and type "air sdk" into the search bar. You should see a link that says "download adobe air sdk".
Choose your version (I'm on windows). And wait for the download.
Once the .zip file has downloaded to your system, open it and browse to the "runtimes" folder. Open it and then open the "air" folder inside it. Then open the "android" folder, followed by the "emulator" folder.
So it's SDK.zip->runtimes->air->android->Runtime.apk
Put the Runtime.apk file on your desktop.
Plug your phone into your computer and put the Runtime.apk file on your sd (I put in the download folder).
Then disconnect your phone and run the AppInstaller app. Find the Runtime.apk file you just downloaded and hit install.
Wait 30 seconds.
If all goes well, congratulations, you now have adobe air!
Thank again. You're a real life saver!
Trying to do this on my Optimus S, should be similar enough to work shouldn't it?
I don't have gingerbread installed currently, however my tablet running froyo installed the latest Adobe Air from the market, so is GB really a requirement here?
My Optimus is still on Froyo for now, could that be why this isn't installing?
pls upload Runtime.apk
You may now upload that Runtime.apk to megaupload or filehippo and update a link?
It will be a lot of help if done so.
Or you can PM (Private Message) me the file and i will upload it.
thanks a lot in advance.
edit :
You can upload in this thread itself you can edit the post and down below and see Attach Files... much more easier ;-)

I know it from personal experience.

[Q] My droid does not support any file format?!?!

Hi,
I am using a Samsung Galaxy 3 with android 2.2 and I want to install some application what is downloadad from many different sources.
I have red many questions about this issue but could not find a solution to solve it.
So now here is my problem:
1. I copy the choosen .apk file on my SD card.
2. I have downloaded ASTRO file manager.
3. I have ticked the option installing non-android applications.
4. I want to open the apk file from there but when I click on app installer I onyle get a blank screen and under the details I receive the following error message:
Could not open xy.apk as APK file.
I am really going mad now I have reading forums for ages.
Please help!!!
Thanks
In the meantime I have also copied some music files on my mobile, these are all MP3, works fine on my comp however when I wanted to play it on my mobile with several music players it said the file format is not supported...
Something is really messed up here...
The phone used to have 2.1 and I made the update manually but after the update I am having these kind of problems...
Re-flash stock
Re-Flash stock rom through ODIN
This might solve it.
I think you are a little bit late.

Try using an Apk installer off the market.
You can find many different apk installers off the market. Try Easy Installer or Apk Installer.
Agreed. This thread was long dead. His main issue is that he was using a clone device. Not a real S3

Probably the file is corrupted. It's sometime the case. Clear your temporary file and try to download again.
