Thanks for showing me that, I was gonna buy an FM Transmitter but it didnt charge the phone, ill prolly end up getting this one, and what do u mean does any1 have any idea where u can order 1, u posted the link.
If you're gonna buy that one, make sure you buy an adapter from HTC.
The audio into the carmount is 3.5mm
Also I see NOTHING is their description that mentions mini USB. as a power option.
I think that this would be a waste of $40.

See here. EVO as your desktop. EVO and Thunderbolt are pretty similar right? So maybe we could port this. The only thing is the HDMI. We will need a way to get around that. So my question is, could we port this?
I don't see how this is possible without some kind of video output from the device. The only other alternative is VNC to the device (which defeats the entire purpose of this).
Droid vnc server is a nifty app. Id think id like it

I thought the micro-usb slot was an MHL slot, which means we just need a cable that is MHL compatible.
Other than that, I don't know why not. It would give a dev something to do
Let me throw one word out here for you guys to converse about.

No, in all seriousness, if the micro-usb is actually MHL compliant, then nothing would have to change in the set-up instructions..

I was thinking the same. That's not it's intentions, but I've seen some of these developers do more amazing things than make that work
If anyone wants to attempt this I'll gladly beta test.
The OP in the EVO forums said if there were enough interest he would assist on porting it over.
"I will be handling port requests through my website. If there is enough demand and the device can support it, I will work with developers to get this ported to your device. Start a thread in your respective device's forum to see if there is enough demand and refer them to this thread and the website for details.
To make things easier you device needs the following:
The ability to run a CyanogenMod 7 ROM
High resolution video out (HDMI preferred for ease of porting) Lokifish Marz"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038840
1) So the questions are is there enough support!?
2) Is our device similar enough to do this?
Put me down for this!!!

That would be fantastic. I could go to customers houses and do their contracts right infront of them instead of @ the office.
This would be cool, maybe even a good reason to get the HTC dock when it comes out. If we can get a HDMI hook up working I would give this a try even with out the dock.

I use DLNA for my photos and video on my LED TV. Trying to figure out how to get my home screen on there...
Side note, does or will the TB have the hdmi "support" the Evo does?
Thunderbolt «» das BAMF Remix
Never mind... Just realized we don't have the HDMI port. Lame. DLNA it is...
Thunderbolt «» das BAMF Remix
There's a adapter for HDMI for our phone
But I believe the reason why they left it out is because of Bluetooth 3.0 and the ability to stream HD movies through it

I'd be willing to thow some cash in for development... If it is indeed possible!

ThunderBolt has the same MHL jack as the EVO 3D/Sensation, but it requires the software to use it, we may get that support in the Gingerbread update.
The only reason its not one of the specs or a known feature is because of this missing software support.
When the ThunderBolt was initially leaked on the Verizon site before launch, the developer site leaked all the details about what accessories it would support and an "HDMI adapter" was listed, and that said adapter is the microUSB to HDMI cable, which will also charge the phone via HDMI.
Now you know why HTC didn't have a native HDMI port, because its actually the USB jack
This would be fantastic, I wish someone would work on it but I am not sure if it is possible.
Here's what I did today: I clicked on the "Escalation Mail Box" Contact link on the Asus support website (http://vip.asus.com/eservice/cus_suggest.aspx) and I asked them to release Transformer USB/Charger cables to the US Market. I explained how much I liked their devices; that I own both the TF and the docking station and how worried I am to only have one cable that could get lost.
Here is the reply email I received:
Dear Valued Customer:
Thank you for supporting and using ASUS products!
Your comment has been received by us and is currently in process. We will improve and as a treatment, you can reply through the link to check the situation. Thank You! [link to open ticket]
If everyone writes in, maybe we can demonstrate a strong enough user demand to get the most essential accessories out on the market.

Just did the same. One cable with no spare is not cool...
The guy who sells the FolioGuard stuff, xjarl I think, mentioned he got his hands on the 40pin connector and asked in the general thread what he should "do" with them...but the thread got buried super quick.
I thought a million people would ask him to make power cables but...

Do you think you could find that thread again and forward the key info to DevCake (the guy here who does the DIY hardware articles):

If anyone can hack together a substitute cable it would be him. So, if there's a guy somewhere who can get the connectors and there's a guy here who can determine which pins we need to wire to a standard USB cable (or charger or whatever we need), then we should put those two together.
Thanks,
glg
Just sent my request as well. I have the Radio Shack charger wall wart w/adapter but I'm very nervous about not having a dongle that fits the TF's port.
Guess I'm spoiled - a week after launch there were adapter galore for the Galaxy Tab on ebay.
I'm hoping the free market will save the day soon here...yikes!

I wouldn't call it spoiled, it seems like chargers and cables should be available readily for any device, what this is....is ridiculous.

I tracked down xjar and messaged him about 4 days ago but no response so far. That connector is the holy grail, find it and I'll be able to make a GRIP of cables and accessories.
I've just done so asking about availability here in the EU. They don't seem to be anywhere!
I got a response back:
Thank you for contacting ASUS and providing your feedback. You may purchase the AC adapter here:[http://us.estore.asus.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3613] Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for your support.

The 12th? Whats taking so damn long.
Letter sent. I hope they get their head's out of eachother's asses.
This situation is really irking me. I sometimes wonder if I shouldn't have gotten a different tab is only to rectify the accessory situation. These adapters should only be costing like 5 cents to make. I don't understand what is going on here.

Perhaps they are not yet ready with software support ; but then again they already have support for USB through the dock

Oh I'm specifically just thinking about their charger cables. I *hate hate hate* that I only have one. As far as I can tell the only places you can buy them they are like $40. Ridiculous IMO b/c that sort of thing should be pretty cheap. That is a pure profit item, if it were even in stock in the first place.

My bad, I thought it had the wrong connector but when I zoomed in I see it is at a bad angle. $40 buck is a little expensive, especially considering it is defective.
Out of stock already!

I was curious if anybody was interested in buying these cables. Both cables would have the corresponding female micro input and the other side would be the corresponding micro male. The reason i ask is if you have a lapdock you are future proofed because motorola likes to make specific accessories for different model phones and likes to charge an excessive premium for these accessories. With these cables you , hopefully, should be able to use lapdock and future lapdocks, if motorola is good on their word, plus you can have your atrix next to your lapdock and be able to use it still. I am thinking maybe used like this you wont need a bluetooth mouse either because you can use screen for the mouse input which is loads better than the touchpad. Micro female cables seem to be hard to come by looking online. I am awaiting an answer from my source to see if these can be had. The minimum order is 1000 of them. I would probably sell these for about $20 shipped in the US if my price is right. Both cables btw. I hope this in right section. Figured it would get the appropiate looks here because it is unique and it is a question. Please post if youre intersted or pm me. If my source comes up good, and there is enough interest i will post back. And yes there would be discount for multiple orders. Dont ask how much. I dont even know how much yet.
Btw, i am getting a lapdock tomorrow to test drive. I am going to measure approximate length needed for this to be useable on right side. I am guessing in the neighborhood of 18-24"/45-60cm. It will be longer than needed if accessorized on the left side of lapdock. I mention this because there will be no custom lengths, colors or whatever. I dont even have any.
I voided my warranty.
well, i just got my quotes. i can do these cheaper than mentioned earlier. i am hoping this might garner some interest, especially for the peeps looking for hdmi mirroring using emulators. i am hoping somebody figures that out too. it'd be nice to play some super nintendo on a lapdock full screen. please respond if interested. i have to order 25 minimum and i only need 4 of each. i can get them posted on ebay also.
PM sent....
can the Atrix be used while in the lapdock? or while connected to it, if its using these cables?
EDIT: oh, mirroring. havent messed with that, wasnt sure the lapdock did that

i don't know. i'm getting lapdock tomorrow. i'm guessing it can be used while in lapdock. i don't know yet if it can be used with cables. that too i'm guessing on. i'm hoping the touchscreen can be used as touchpad like webtop over hdmi hack. and i just found out that motorola fubar'ed photon users by flipping the connections so they can't use the lapdock.
I modded my laptop to fit the photon. I'll try it out, i didnt know there was a hack to enable use while in webtop.
EDIT: stock functions are the volume and power, no other buttons work nor does the screen work. where is the mod for the touchscreen for the atrix? i tried searching but no dice. i wonder if would even work on a photon
Did you ever order these? I am interested in using the AT&T 50.00 Atrix lapdock with a Droid razr and I am guessing that this will be neccesary.

Wondering if you ever ordered them.
I am interested in using the Atrix lapdock available for 50.00 right now with a droid razr, and it I think this might be necessary.
hi,do you still have any left and how does it work?
I'd also be interested in these cables.
Thanks
I'd be interested too....
Very interested. I would like to use phone as webcam since cover blocks front screen.

Any more?
Do you have any more of the cables? I'd like to buy one.
Interesting, I also would be rather interested in purchasing one or two sets of these cables. Would be nice to semi future-proof my lapdock that I purchased for $50.
still selling these cables? I'm interested...I'll send you a PM..
Im trying to make a custom cable for something ,
anyways just wondering if anyone knows what the pinout's are.
ive been searching but i cannot find anything on the extmicro, just extmini.
Custom cable no longer needed, lol... but i would still like to find out what the pinouts are. i Might just have to go and investigate myself.
turns out there already is a cable from htc that i was looking for
basically all i wanted was a audio out cable from the extmicro, and it looks like I found one that was for the DINC, and also is for video out but all i really need is audio. I remembered there was a a/v out cable for the dinc and i also remembered the dinc also had the extmicro connection so its bound to work!
I saw a post claiming that the Dinc pinout doesn't apply to the RZ. Doesn't make sense to me, but there it is. Please update this thread with anything you find.

It would be pretty dumb if they made an entirely new extmicro for the newer devices. I'm still going to go ahead and buy it. I'll report back, it would be super handy for two projects I'm trying to do without having to buy two big expensive mhl adapters.
