Mine doesn't. :/
hmm...i wonder what can be done. hope i dont need to swap this phone
My MSL code works, I got it from employee accounts. I had to use it to reset my 3vo because I activated it on a number other then the number I bought it on.
##786#MSL->Reset
I asked about how to reset my phone in another thread and they told me I needed this code so I just called in, spoke to the lady and she pulled it up for me.
i got my code online when i activated my phone. no good.
how do we get our MSL to see?
if you didnt activate online, you'd probably have to contact sprint and ask for it.
Maybe ur code isn't right, call in and double check
Bussin Caps from my 3D shooter
activated mine online yesterday using the MSL code that appeared in the instructions...........however, if I do ##3282" and Edit, then input the same MSL code, it doesn't work.........however, I can do ##msl code#, and that will show the areas to edit if I wanted to change the number. How come that MSL code doesn't work for the other codes?
The msl you got in the email when you activated your phone online is a one time msl. It expires after a certain amount of time. If you want your "real" msl you will have to call sprint, go to the store or use cdma workshop.

Their are 2 types of CODES one is a ONE TIME code which you probably received and the Other is the MSL the actual MSL code never Expires
What the two guys above me said.
mine works. got it via the CDMA Workshop method.
can also pull your msl by following the thread i made... it involves using ADB to copy the radio configuration...

Run the temp root script from the development section and then use msl reader from the market.

yes i forgot to write it down like an idiot and now I cant make an out bound call etc..
help!!
Call your Service provider, tell them your phone is not working and you think it needs to be re-programmed. They will walk you through it....somewhere along the lines you will get a "six digit code" or a "series of numbers." They will probably not call it an "MSL" or "MSN as you called it"
Just pretend like the steps worked, even if they did not. (your custom ROM may cause it to not work). Also write down any numbers that they tell you.
If it did not work, open you WINDOWS directory and navigate to EPST, click it, click EDIT, enter MSL (the proper term), and enter your info, note that the two numbers MAY not be the same....you should get it from there.....
Its not too hard.
its telling me i needanunlock code...whats the code?

Well did you call your service provider and acquire the code like he just said?
hahahahahahaha
Ok, so I'm asking for a friend, but he has 1 contact and 2 numbers. the first says mobile and the 2nd says work. When you click on the first number, it dials but when you click on the 2nd, it gives you options to edit or open in message and won't dial.
Whats wrong? Does he need to update or something? Or did he input the number in wrong? I asked to see what firmware but he didn't know. I plan on getting the phone the next day to help see if I can solve the issue but figured I'd throw it out there. advice? suggestions?
Here it works using the default phonebook.
Sent from my x32 using the licking write method....man I am thirsty now!
most likely the field it self is not set as "phone". It might be as an "email". just copy the number & create a new field and use the "phone" fields and just paste it. it should work
Hey everyone I'm new here and just recently got HTC Mozart. Its not a bad phone, but I am having some problems where I cannot access the market place, because it requires a activation code. Does anyone know what the code is or how to get it. Right now I cannot really do anything on the phone, its a bit boring, so I need some advice.
Thanks.

have you subscribe to hotmail or live messenger, once you set these up on the phone running, the market place should work.
Hi, thanks for replying, but yes I am already subscribed, when I try to sign in or create a new hotmail, it keeps asking an acitivation code, at the botton, it says call support, which takes me directly to orange which are no help at all. What should I do. Thanks
i have the mozart, and have master reset it many times, but have'nt come across activation code, would this be a network lock, can you take a photo and upload it.

is this a new account, and also in the phone all you need to do is sign in, not create a new account.
Well the phone is second hand where I bought from a shop and I already have hotmail account. So what happens now?
have you checked if the phone is network locked.
How do I check if it is network locked, the network I'm using now is orange, it could be locked to Orange.
can you put a different usim, other than the orange, can you also take a photo of the screen showing the activation code.
have you set up hotmail to run on the phone yet, does it work.
No I can't run the hotmail on the phone, because when I do that, it asks me for an activation code. So how did you get access on the marketplace?
can you take a photo of the phone, can you put a different usim in the phone.
Call Microsoft support they'll give you new activation code in no time
Yeah I will try call them, thanks for the advice
I'm trying to get my MSL number on an optimus V. The Virgin login page method and the CDMA workshop method both no longer work. I tried using alogcat to find it but that was a no go either. Anyone have any tips?
Edit: I found the open source CDMA workshop and got my code. YES. I ****ing love open source. New PRL on my phone up and running and increased my DL speed 6 fold.
a BIG thank you to XDA forums and freddysam in particular for his writeup (can't post to the thread specifically since i'm a new user).
It's called cdma workshop tool if anyone else needs it.
If your rooted just get msl reader from play store. If not sometimes you can try switching the retrieval method on workshop then switch back to standard nv (or whatever default is) sometimes that works.

Can you elaborate? i dloaded workshoptool but unsure how to use it. Where did you get the PRL file and which one worked for you?
Even easier method: Use ConnectBot or Terminal Emulator and type the following command:
su
getprop ril.MSL
(This assumes you have root and Superuser).

If anybody is interested in the open source method mentioned:
http://code.google.com/p/cdmaworkshoptool/
also, one of the community members posted a nice LG SPC/MSL video how-to with cdmaDevTerm / open source cdma workshop like tool:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=t_bSUGSnkak
(this shouldn't require root on most devices, as long as you can enable DM mode)

Very handy tool! Added to my collection. Hope to put it to more use soon.
Word of advice you really have to sleuth around to find the version he uses in the video. I have to play around with googles servers until I found the version he uses in the Video.
Here it is so nobody has to dig around anymore - Attached

You're in the wrong forum. That's for htc phones. And I would download it free from the play store.

I had the same problem, and after searching for a while I found the legal copy. Folllow these steps :
1. On your PC , go to cdmaflasher.com/Downloads/index.php
2. Download CDMA Flasher Installer and run it
3. It will now prompt you for a username and password
4. The default username & password for the free trial version is as follows : username : remotesquad password: remotesquad
5. It should now log you into the Remote Squad Dealer Flashing, that's it for the PC part
6. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT !!! Connect your phone to the same WiFi network your PC is connected on
7. From the phone browser, go to tools.flashingtools.com
8. Select the first option, which is the Android MSL Reader and it will download it to your phone
9. Once it's installed, open the app and click read SPC and voila
I've tried it on the S3 and the S4 and it works !!! Just make sure the remote squad dealer flashing program is running on the PC and the phone is connected to same WiFi network as the PC.
I hope this helps
Or just call Sprint.

I hate when people always suggest "calling Sprint." It's a salt in the wound of someone who is facing a real dilemma. I mean c'mon Captain Obvious, if calling sprint were actually a viable case in his option he probably wouldn't have posted it on the forum, or used msl tool utility in the first place......smh

I'm glad that you were able to help this individual, but there are many whom want their MSLs that do not wish to contact the carrier merely out of stubbornness or some other motive unrelated to dilemmas.
I've encountered this on these forums; thus my response.
And it was neither my intent to rub salt in wounds, nor to make assumptions of another's. If you, @rbrown24, choose to assume otherwise, I can't prevent it. But I'd suggest that it'd be more polite to not assume mine, sir.
I hope this clarifies.
