Just thought I'd start a general thread for people to start reporting issues and their stories on how they get new 3Ds.
I got mine from wirefly, so I'll call them later tonight.
I have light leakage along the bottom left side, and I have a dead pixel on my menu button. Plus the left edge of the phone came out of the box scuffed, which is suspicious. Will post pix when I get a different camera.

I have the XV6800 and noticed that this phone over times developes some screen spots. I have one so far, and on my previous one that I returned (for other reasons) developed one also.
I read a thread on another website that Moguls / Titans develop it too.
Has any one else Developed this? If so is it fixable or is it something that might cause like sometype of recall and issue a fix where we might get phone replacements later on?
i have a light spot about the size a pea in the screens lower left-hand quadrant. It's noticeable it during the verizon boot-up screen with the white background, in word, etc. anything with a white background. Not noticeable if the screen is colored.
I've wondered if this was normal.
mine's got 3 of them now
same here, my burnin spot is also in the lower left-hand corner the size of a pea.
same here, lower left corner is lighter than the rest of the screen...looks like somebody missed something on QA

Yes, mine is in the exact same place. I read on another website that it might be an HTC issue because other TITAN's have gotten these spots also.
At first I thought that a picture image was burnt into my screen or that I might have pressed the screen to heavily and damaged it.
This has happened twice. I wonder if there is a fix because this is very annoying especialy when trying to read or watching a video.

I have a pc6800 through Alltel and just noticed the same problem three days ago...has anyone spoken with their SP and found out if they are replacing them?

I am afraid to take mine in since my all High and mighty Moister sticker now says void even though my phone hasn't been with in 100 feet of water. I find those stickers to be such BS...but that could just be me...I wish I could find some where to buy spare ones..

I am not entirely certain but I think the void sticker that is displayed by the battery is for the screw. I mean if you try to unscrew your phone to fiddle with the insides then that voids your warranty. I could be wrong.
The only concern would be that if we where to return the phone to get a replacement one, that we would have to flash our RADIOS and ROMS to stock if any one has flashed them to anything that is not stock.
The stickers on both of my alltel 6800's said void out of the box. Their explaination for this is the when the sticker get wet the words bleed and turn the entire sticker purple. Not sure how accurate the rep was but that is the story for what it is worth.

Yep..you are right . The void stickers are good until they turn a solid purple or red...weeehhh...I'm goin to go and replace my phone this week will let you know how it goes..and what they say
Yeah, mine's got a spot the size of a small pea in the bottom left-hand corner. Doesn't bother me too much yet though, I've got the insurance so I'll go get it replaced one of these days. For others that have tried to get them replaced, any troubles?
After doing some research on forums I noticed that many people have this problem.
Some say that it might be an issue with the phone heating up, faulty LCD manufacturing, the excess use of the vibration feature and so on......
But It seems that no matter what you ( such as gettting a replacement) your current or new phone might still get these spots.
It seems that not many carriers know about this issue, not even HTC.
So the problem might consist unless it is made known to them so they can create a fix for the new shipment of phones. Or else this will reoccur on the phones they have shipped out already.
It sucks because most of us paid a large amount of money for these devices to have it be faulty( not something that can be fixed via software at this moment). Just my opinion.
Ditto, same spot here. was wondering about the spot for a while. I have dropped mine a million times and thought it was because of that.
would be nice to be able to change it in because of the spot because mine is beat down to the ground like 4 flat tires.
will they give me crap because of how beat up it is?
I know every time I go to Alltel and get a phone replaced via the insurance the first question they ask the Rep at the store is if the phone looks like it has been dropped or if it has water damage....I'm sure that is so they can blame it on the user. As far as the phone being under manufacturer warranty they usually just swap it out for me no questions asked. I just always hate when they open the box infront of me and give nothing but the phone....would be nice to have an extra case and charger...LOL..
anyone know if sprint good about swapping phones and if i should do insurance or manufacturer warranty and if i do insurace can i switch to touch or you can only change phone in first thirty days
i got 2 spots in lower left corner
Me too (x3)
I've been through three Sprint-branded titans because of this. I'm 100% sure it's a design flaw. If we all complain at once, HTC might actually listen and make a titan that doesn't do this!
I also have two pea-sized spots in the lower left quadrant of the screen. Doesn't really bother me though, as I only notice it when the phone is booting up.
I've got 3 spots lower-lefthand corner as well on my Mogul.
I made a poll to actually see the statistics of the effects of these Spots on the TITAN / 6800

Hi,
I just received a new S3, and I'm noticing what I would call a couple of dead pixels: on a white screen (but also red & green, on blue it is not noticeable/ I cannot judge) at any brightness, there are two distincs points (I would say, pixels) that remains black.
When magnifying the zone with a lens, I can notice the defect is circular with the size of few pixels (<10) with lower luminosity then the rest of the display, with the center emitting no light.
Anyone with the same experience? How this is evolving with time: starts working? worsen?
One pixel is towards the border and just the second (in the center) bothers, but effect is very small and noticeable only when you know it is there.
I took the phone on Amazon, so with great flexibility for returning it, but I got it on .de (and I'm living in .fr) because of the great price (359€) and it is a bit annoying returning it.
Thanks for the feedbacks
Giorgio

I ve has 4 S3's, all brand new, 2 out of the 4 had dead pixels.
the one i currently have is dead pixel free, i cannot stand a dead pixel.
My solution to a stuck pixel
About Dead/Stuck pixel on OLED Device Display
I have a S3 GT-9300 that I use daily, the other day I dropped it on a hard surface and a single shiny green stuck pixel appeared on the bottom left corner of the display, it was a bit of an eye sore really, But I'll share my simple FIX if its a related problem like mine was*I thought if the drop caused it, then a related solution may fix it, so I simple activated display and went to the home page.then I turned the display facing my palm and held the device carefully at the top end and slapped it several times hard into the palm of my hand where the pixel problem area was. then stuck pixel went away...
I hope this works for you too*

Well, that's certainly one of a kind....
So noob, just send it back. No biggie It's Samsung's fault for having appalling build quality. So just go into the store and scream your head off till you get a new one, or preferably an s4 for inconveniences.
I got my s6 edge and for some reason after the first few photos I have blue spots on my screen. I saw a topic about this posted in the regular S6 forums and figured I would make one for the edge forum. I ordered mine through Amazon and they are over nighting me a new one. It didn't matter what kind of light I was in whether dark or bright. Changing camera apps didn't work either. The blue dots on each person who has issues show up in different spots. No two people have had them in the same area, at least not that I saw. I have sprint and the Amazon person I spoke with called Sprint and said that it is a known issue and if amazon didn't replace the phone then they would have. Just figured I would give you a heads up.
Mine are in the bottom left corner.
edit - Not sure why xda rotated the picture but now it is in the top left corner.

And that's helping troubleshoot the problem how? You could've kept that to yourself. I personally think the piercings look awesome. :good:
That's good your getting a new one sent to you, OP. Post back here and let us know if your replacement still has the issue. What was your phones manufactured date? Maybe the same ones that have the scratched screen problem have this problem too and the batch of phones on the specific date have defects.
I have the same problem but with the front facing camera. Taking it to the store to see if they will replace it. It's right in the middle of the screen so it bugs the hell out of me.

A number of posters (myself included) have observed a gray halo/dimmed area near the top of the main screen and on the "secondary screen" when the secondary backlight is off. Has anyone with this problem switched out their v10 for a replacement, and if so, is their new unit any better? I sent mine into LG last week and am still holding my breath to see what happens...
I picked up a new v10 on Monday and mine has that issue. I'm going to go to T-Mobile on Monday and see if they have another one and compare.
I got my first about a week ago v10 and had about a thumb sized shadowing on top of screen (a lot worse when 2nd screen off.) you can see the issue better when INVERT SCREEN COLORS. I brought it back and told them about the shadowing and high standby drain and they swapped out quick...no problems. I think your answers might vary by who is the on duty manager tho. My second v10 has a similar issue but it is so small I don't really notice. Standby seems better too.
So a couple things but my main issues is maps. I haven't found anyone with this problem yet. When driving the navigstion marker is constantly pausing. Maps is not freezing however. The marker just stops and stays stopped for like 5 seconds then catches up and tracks me for 1 second or 2 then stops again.
Another issue I've noticed as I have called for a replacement(I actually have had to call twice and have three lg g5's in front of me) is that when I got my first replacement the screen seemed kind of dull compared to my original. When I put the two next to each other i realized that it wasn't that it was dull but a bit yellowish. My original reason for wanting the phone replaced was because of maps, the button to eject the module was not flush and stuck out at an angle and the module piece itself was offset. This phones button and module piece were fine and so I called again and they sent out another one. This thrid phones screen has the same issues as well as the original issues from my first phone. I spent an hour making sure all the settings were the same and even ruined my screen protector by taking it off to make sure all phones were under similair conditions. I'm now not sure what to do. Should i call them up and ask them to send out a fourth one? This is becoming insane.
Would you have noticed the yellow tint if you did not have another sitting next to you? I noticed my battery eject button looked a little crooked when I read your post and pushed on it a bit and now it is flush.

M8, internet is filled with people having issues with G5. Before you say S7 fanboy i have mine pre-ordered already.
All these issues are making me want to cancel my order and wait for something else. I really want to give LG the benefit of the doubt but everytime i open up a webpage regarding G5, there is always someone having an issues of some sort.
I am beginning to think that all this QC issues are actually true and LG really dropped the ball with G5.
As for you question, Return it !! All these faulty units are being floated between customers without them being sent back to LG and thats why you will never get a perfect unit. Wait for something like Nexus 7 or HTC/sony heck even Mi5 Pro if you can get ur hands on one.
GL
Probably not. However, after seeing it I can tell without comparing it to another device. I had my friend come in and randomly show me one of the devices at a time and everytime I could pick out the yellowed ones. They also don't get as bright, it's not significant however. I feel that you wouldn't notice it until you see somone else's device. Then after that it will be all you can see. In the morning I'm going to test them to see if they also have the screen bloom and backlight bleed. If so then that just might be another side effect of the bad screens.
Ray,
I honestly wouldn't worry. The only place I see these problems being dicussed is here and it's not even a flood of people. It's pretty minor conpared to how many people probably have these devices in hand already. I still love this phone despite these problems. In fact, it's so far my favorite phone I've had in a while.
