Where's the GB screen animation when turning off display? - HTC EVO 3D

So, did they just leave it out? I really liked that....

That's not part of GB someone made that it will be back when custom ROMs return. I assume your refering to the CRT power off animation.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App

It's only on the nexus, other custom roms have added.

It's stock gingerbread (ie google made it ) as seen on the nexus, etc. HTC and other manufacture's who overlay a UI on top of gingerbread don't include it for whatever reason.

Thanks everyone.

im sure we will get it back..Just a matter of that little bootloader thing-a-ma-jig.

[Q] Miui ROM on samsung vibrant

I was wondering if there are any developers who are willing to try to get the miui ROM on the N1 and Evo over onto the vibrant. I would love to have this on my phone, and I'm sure there are other people who would like this to be possible too.
First, wrong section, second this would be nice....

Yes, I have seen your theme and I have to say. Good work, however like you said it is a theme but having the entire ROM would be even better but I'm not trying to smash your work or anything just some insightful thinking that's all
Heck yeah man! i would love a MIUI rom for the vibrant!! i wish one is ported to it soon =/
Only problem is that MIUI is a froyo based ROM, and froyo isn't fully functioning on the vibrant yet. It will be much easier to port it over once Samsung releases the official froyo update and we can grab the drivers. Once that happens, though, I would LOVE to see MIUI on the vibrant! I got a chance to play with it on my buddy's droid and it's awesome
What about htc sense?i know ya miss it sometimes lol I had a g1 I miss all the different roms it had smh

yes but correct me if i am wrong eugenes froyo rom through odin is working the only thing that is still wrong with it is that the home and back buttons are switched but like i said i think i am wrong but even if i am wrong cant a dev re-map the buttons when creating/ building MIUI? also was the EVO on 2.2 when they were able to get MIUI? i just havent had time to go check all of the threads.

Yes, anything that had a port of miui has froyo.. The galaxy s line of phones can't get anything but the stock roms to work.. eugene has just removed most of the touchwiz.. After we get a full built from source aosp rom running you can expect some custom ui ports but for the moment all we have is touchwiz or most touchwiz removed..

oh ok then. now if only tmobile would release Froyo. curses.
Now just because we get froyo and the source code doesn't mean it will happen.. The only real rom developer we have is eugene.. so if he doesn't like miui then its probably not going to happen...

Im going to try to build from aosp, but this thing seems really tempermental,i thought i bricked it a few times just trying to flash bionix fusion. I was stuck at just a black screen, nothing worked, and my laptop kept saying the usv device has malfunctioned. I ended up plugging it intoace my desktop and booted into download mode blind, after 4 tries it went to download mode, and it flashed back to stock successfully with odin, then i flashed the rom the right way.
basically,if you have a dell d600 laptop, save yourself the frustration of getting Odin to work and use a different computer. I tried on mine and my brother's,both did the same thing.

Strange, I have soft bricked only two times and both times odin worked for me but I have been using bionix since it came out and after trying multiple ROMs I stick with bionix but I just want to play around with miui
Well froyo is supposed to come in November.
So I'm hoping that sometime in December we will get froyo ROMs emerging (CM6 will probably be one of the first).
I just hope some dedicated people at least try to get MIUI on the Vibrant/Galaxy S/EPIC/Captivate/Fascinate. Because if they get one of the Galaxy S phones running, then it will greatly help, the rest of the series.

who doesn't want an AOSP rom?
I also really don't care about an ICS release - though I'll happily take it, stock and rooted.

I just don't like thw TW launcher as much. It's good, don't get me wrong, but I wish it had more flexibility. TW 4.5 has some of those, but then it lacks some from the official TW3.
Other wise, I like some of the other additions by Samsung. Specially the changes in Clock and Contacts.
So now I am aiming for stock i9100 + Nova/Apex launcher

I like Samsung based over aosp based too. But development on both fronts helps make for an overall better experience for anyone who likes flashing and tinkering with there phone.
As far as tw launcher, it has gotten allot better, but no matter whether I run asop based or Samsung based I always seem to find my way to go launcher or adw.
Once ics is working well enough for me to keep it on my phone longer than a day or two, I'm going to spend some time checking out the nova launcher.

I partially agree. I don't really care about ICS, but I'll probably update to it when it comes out. I am perfectly happy with the setup I have now. I dont't understand why people are acting like they "need" it.
I also like AOSP and its simplicity, but I love the media format support provided by Samsung roms. Full 1080p wmv's @ 10mbps? Yes please. I don't care for Touchwiz launcher itself though.
And I can't live without allshare
I might be crazy but if a rom has it removed on install I will instantly flash another rom with it.

My phone is a communication device primarily, a personal organizer and music source for my truck, and sometimes light gaming device.
It'll never replace my desktop, and it'll never replace my HTPC + 55" Samsung LED SmartTV. I just can't stand watching video on such a small screen.

1.) Flashing ROMs doesn't mean one's device doesn't work. It simply means they want a change from stock/whatever they decide to change from.
2.) Flashing ROMs doesn't disable your device as a communication platform. AOSP based ROMs (With ICS, at least) have a better calendar, camera application, and are compatible with virtually every app you currently have now.
3.) Not trying to sound like a ****, but if you just want it to work and aren't concerned with flashing the ROM or anything, why are you on XDA Developers?

Sence 3.0+ is almost perfect
Just power menu screenshots, Fasterfix and Adfree makes it perfect. Leedroid does a pretty good job at making the last 2 happen
something different really...all android os have the same layout pretty much and I would like to see more voice command. example: you tell the phone what you want to do and it will be done. you control the whole phone with your voice instead of your fingers, phone does all the work while you tell it what to do.
I loved the Samsung Galaxy S on 2.2... The functions such as media buttons in the lock screen and drag down menu... as well as the wifi, bt, etc built into the drag down menu. And it was always quick for me.. No lag..
But it needs to be custom, the ability to easily run back to your stock rom, and then back to the custom rom on start up? Such as a computer when you run windows then ubuntu?
Just my thoughs.....

Yes. I'm riding solo right now, so it will take a while to make. But I am building from source and completely revamping GB 2.3, I am going to make my own music player, gallery, merge the messaging, dialer and contacts (similar to goSMS) for smoother functionality, and a lot of other features, I plan on a few major releases, and get ppl to port it to their phones. All will come in due time though.

ummm the FIRST release will be a CM base but I will be working on a stock build so that I can add everything I want without having to dig through CM's source code and plug in my stuff. But this is a release that really wont see the light of day until the summer, the CM one will maybe be sooner but ACT testing is coming soon aaannnd school takes priority as always.

[Q] How do I change my lock animation to the AOSP "TV lock" animation

Title says it all, I'd like to know if there is a way to get the TV lock animation on my AT&T Note, as the fade out animation that comes with it is quite lame and boring.
Are you on ICS?
If so, not happening yet, you have to go back to a GB ROM that has it, I believe saurom and unofficial have it. Developers can't do it yet. Sorry.

Yes, I'm on the seraphim, First Flight ICS ROM. That's unfortunate, I'm guessing that this won't happen until the official ICS release, due to the source code that will come with it?

CRT on/off animations with S-Off

I am curious to know whether or not CRT on/off animations will be possible now that there is S-off on the Rezound, or if it is pretty much a lost cause. I know that it reached a standstill prior to S-off. Just curious as to whether it opens up the possibility for it now.
Thanks

Having S-OFF doesn't make it easier to get the CRT animations working. It'd be nice if it did though, as I did like the animations on my old OG Inc. Hopefully someone is still trying to get them to work!

I did too, but I've yet to see it on the Rezound. I think if it were easy we'd have it by now lol

I am curious as to what the actual limitation is. I upgraded to the Rezound and I am mostly pleased. It just seems that the extra horsepower has not translated to the kind of additional functionality that I had on my incredible or thunderbolt.
They got the animation to work, but it takes forever to play, so it's not worth having.
I'm working on my programming skills. So hopefully, I'll be able to contribute sooner than later to some of these issues.
The CRT animation is a relatively minor thing in the grand scheme of things, but I miss it every time I turn on the old Thunderbolt for testing purposes.
You guys are talking about CRT when you turn screen on and off correct? I miss that alot too.
Yeah. It seems that from my research, HTC made some sort of change which makes the framerate of the CRT On/Off Animations screw up. I'm going to try to look into this with my basic skills. Maybe the Dev's gave up on it.
