Right now my phone do vibration when I press all the hard buttons[include home, dial, cancel, reject, volumn +/-,hard keybord, power button].How to disabled this? Thanks
You might check in Start>Settings>Sound and Notifications under the Notifications tab. See if the dropdown mentions button presses. Also under the Sounds tab in there, try unchecking Hardware Buttons. If not that, they maybe you enabled something in Advanced Config...

Wasnt sure what you meant at first, but your fix worked like a charm!!! thx!
OK this might be a stupid question but is it possible to set the phone to vibrate when you receive a SMS or an email (I don't really mind about the email but SMS would be really useful)?
This is my first android (well, after messing around with it on the X1) and I'm unsure if the phone has this feature or not. I've checked the app marketplace and couldn't find anything.
Many thanks!
EDIT: Sorry I found the option for vibrate on email.
EDIT 2: And I just found it for SMS, could and admin lock please, sorry for the stupid post.
can u share how u did it?

Go to Messaging, press the Menu button (left button on the X10), and you'll see Settings, click that. Vibrate is on the bottom. I'm sure it's the same for email.

Hi, and first of all thank you xdadevelopers for your work! awesome I can have my xperia updated to 2.1 rooted here in Spain!
Now my question is if is possible to disable vibration on the dialpad, 'cause I can't find the option.
I know it's a little silly question but it's bothering me, thank you.
I think you can find the option in settings, sound and display?
but not sure.
thanks but there only can remove sound not vibration
when using the keyboard use the settings button looks like a repair tool there you can disable if is not there go to settings, check keyboard and uncheck it from the default keyboard option, same applies for android one

this works for the keyboard but no effect on dialpad, and when on dialpad settings buttons does nothing.
thank you anyway
Try going into settings "Sound and Display, and untick "Haptic Feedback". It says that it "vibrates when pressing soft keys and on certain UI interactions". Maybe that's the one you're looking for.
i have the same question, i can't remove the vibration on the dial pad.
send from x10a flash with x10i nordic 2.1
I have looked all over forums and internet and I have found no one who is able to disable the vibration from my HTC EVO 46. I cannot stand the dial pad lay out and it showing the call history right above it and can't seem to find a replacement for that either that will be my default phone dialer, not something I have to additionally go to.

Hello everybody, I wonder, if some of you know if is possible to assign a mp3, o a ringtone, for each contact in our phonebook in the MiniCM7 by paul, for mini pro. Since i tried this rom i have never could, but I want to know if it is a fact, I mean is impossible, or is just making some modifications in the setting I have no idea.
Thanks for your help...
iCerebro..
Yep, just open the contact, press menu key (the left one) and go to the "options". Here you will find how to change the ringtone. Do not go to "edit contact"
Thank you so much....
I always was getting in edit contact, but nothing happened...
I thought it was because the rom... :S
And, this is for every terminal with Gingerbread, I mean, that is the way for editing the tone?
You were very helpful...!

I'm using Sony Xperia P. It's notification sound is not working upon getting a new message. But its getting vibration. I tried the factory settings, repaired using pc companion and tried the different settings. Now I got Jelly bean update, still the problem continuous. Please help me to solve this problem.
Have tried looking on settings > sounds > ringtone & notifications?

I tried all this. Every thing is fine. When I restart my phone it works for some time. But later after some time, it again repeats the same problem automatically.
Same happens to me. Although I don't miss the notification sound it's something bad.
how did you update/flash JB stock? I upgraded using the FlashTool with wipe data and cache
everything works well ever since I upgraded to JellyBean (European version rom), the only thing that didn't work well is the NFC (which probably is a Kernel issue) and the battery drain
its the same with me .. i just flashed the pre rooted jb hoping that the problem would not occur in this update ( yes it was in the ics as well ) but it seems that its still there .. though the 8mp camera is working .. can anyone suggest how to solve this .. freggin tired of missing all my messages
It's due to third party app that control the sound...
Like, blacklist, profile scheduler, go sms etc...
If you've, uninstall and try for some days...
You can temporarily get notifications back with wipe cache and dalvic cache from titanium or reset settings

Hey . This is because of a USSD code running in the background that causes your notifications sound to stop and it's because of the service provider ,not the phone .[In my case - vodafone]
Solution
Set default notification tone to silent.
Go to messaging settings and chose whatever ringtone you want.
For Gmail,go to label settings and change there.
Repeat the same for other apps that you need and your problem should be solved .
